I was almost ready to exchange my Swift 2013 car with this one but after researching it thoroughly and after driving it for few kilometres I changed my mind and postponed until it's getting upgraded to Baleno 3rd edition probably in the year 2020. Looks, performances and features wise it's good but not the best.
Here, I'm talking about the Alpha 1.2 variant, the top end model of Baleno
Cons... 1. Gloves box being tooooo small and without an AC duct.
2. As the car is lenghthy enough touching almost 4 mtrs, so, a rear AC Vent with blower speed control and direction lever must have been provided. In summer, when outside temp. reaches out 44 degree Celsius that time it's being felt very badly, or else you need to turn the blower to max speed and make the cabin very noisy.
3. The back seat centre arm rest with cup holders and some utility holes. I don't understand why this feature is not added to this premium model of Baleno.
4. The plastics and switches, just carried forward from the Swift which I'm still the owner, and the steering wheel, I feel like I'm driving my Swift car only till the time I look on MID (multi info display and Touch screen infotainment).
5. HERE maps is not as smart as Google maps, so, never whole-heartedly depend on it, and Maps are not also updated before delivery of the vehicle.
6. NO.. Android Auto on Infotainment, just Apple car play. I don't know WHYYY....
7. LED lights should have been placed to lighten up the interiors/ Cabin and in rear boot space.
8. Alloy wheel look like normal wheel with smart wheel covers found in the market until you go really close to.
9. Radio antennae could have been like a Dorsal fin instead of Swift's.
10. Some more colour option should have been there, like Dual-colour or combination of colours.
11. DRLs should also start giving directions to the turns along with blinkers on mirrors. I mean to say, if i want to turn to the right the DRLs should run the light from left to right and vice versa for left turns.
12. Overall, no such premium feeling whatsoever.

Exterior Contemporary, unlike earlier Suzuki models launched in the country.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Only black interiors available. Beige or Tan would look better. Light coloured seats absorb less heat while parked outside in hot summer days.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance OK. Though even after driving 500 km, the gear shift knob is a bit stiff. Average 14.5 km/l in city traffic.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent. No issues threading thru heavy traffic & congested roads. I have driven ancient Ambassadors, Santro , i20, Honda City and Amaze & owned Maruti 800 , Chevy Aveo UVA and now Baleno. Baleno is as good as it can be with current technology and pricing.
Final Words Good value for money.
Areas of improvement Choice of light coloured interiors, Flat roof at rear. Smoother gear shift knob. Considering our roads, two more inches of ground clearance would be superb, but that's asking a lot for an already heavily in demand car.
For a sub 4m hatch, it has fair enough leg space at rear seat.Tapered rear roof / ceiling. Flat roof would have provided a bigger boot with more storage space.ఎక్స్టీరియర్/స్టైల్స్

Exterior Great Looks, Shape.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great Driving pleasure, smooth steering,unbelievable space inside, Reverse camera very clear, Navigation very good and useful, info about mileage, expected mileage, distance to empty. Automatic AC gives decent looks avoiding the usual knobs.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great Driving pleasure, smooth steering,good mileage, Excellent Pick up.Gear changing easy.
Ride Quality & Handling Very Smooth, finger rolling steering, Great Driving pleasure, effort less driving, no stress while driving. Very good music system. Fun to turn car in the corners.
Final Words This is the no. 1 hatch back car in the entire Country. Please let me know if any car can give competition to this car.PLEASE USE IT TO BELIEVE IT. Have used Jazz, i10s, 20s, figos but no coparison. Servicing at door step, excellent behaviour of staff inspite of such a huge success, pick up and drop service.

I have got my Baleno Alpha in late March/2016 and I am very happy about my purchase and the exterior looks are amazing, especially with the DRLs, they are head-turners. During the initial days, everyone used to stare at my Car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Comforts and conveinence features are top-notch. Ability to connect your smart phone either through CarPlay(iphone only) or through Bluetooth is simply superb. Cool touch-screen, TFD panels, electro-chromatic IRVM for night rides and UV cut glasses are excellent. Siri works great and my children really loved the CarPlay.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
My earlier car was SWIFT ZXI, to be frank, SWIFT was a great car for drivers, Baleno pick-up is not that great compared to SWIFT, but it's close. I would say 80/100. Gear-shift I have liked in SWIFT only, its far smoother than Baleno. But, you get used to it. Regarding the mileage, I have to admit that Baleno wins hands-down. My SWIFT gave around 14/litre after 3 years of usage, but Baleno is giving me from second month. It could be even better because I drove in a very busy bumper to bumper traffic
Ride Quality & Handling
The other department that Baleno scores is, Ride quality and handling. This category, it wins hands-down against my old SWIFT. The quality of the ride is so smooth and NVH noise levels are very well controlled. First week, I felt like I got deaf, because it was such quite, but after that I get used to it probably.

This is the best can I have purchased and drove till now and I am very happy about my purchase
Areas of improvement
1. Rear-view visibitliy is a bit poor when rear head restraints are fully opened. It could have been better, also ORVMs could be little bigger.
2. If your engine stops in the middle on the road, the CarPlay doesn't start after you re-start the engine. You have to un-plug and re-plug again. It's glitch I think
3. Sometimes, re-starting an engine is really a pain, Don't know what you were doing wrong
4. Maps and inbuilt navigation is useless, they should have provided Google maps instead of Nokia maps and I have till date not used even once. So useless and crap.
Otherthan the above, everything else was good and great. So, go for it, you will really love the Car. I know the wait is too long and I had to wait for 2.5 months but it's worth the wait. I would have switched to Brezza if they have offered the petrol version, but they didn't and I am satisfied with Baleno.

Have bought Baleno Alpha Diesel in April,16 and crossed the odometer reading of 17500KMs recently.
Exterior
Like in every reviews, the looks are great and styling is awesome. Day time running LEDs, Xenon Projector headlamps and LED tail lamps which are available only on top end adds premium effect. The liquid flow design style makes Baleno stands out from other competitor products. The only improvement require is the sheet metal used. It is very thin and a small scratch or dash keeps deep impression on the vehicle.

Spacious…When you get in the Baleno, you feel how much space is available be it front seats, rear seats or even boot space. Best in class leg room at both front and rear seats. For people with height 6 feet and more may feel some lack of head room at rear seat. For long drive, you will never feel tiredness and get comfortable, premium drive. But I’m surprised that Baleno being premium hatchback, even in top end model, company is giving fabric seats. Dashboard is really refreshing and different from other Maruti products (except Steering wheel – similar to Ciaz, Swift) but plastic quality could have been better. Smart Play Infotainment (Manufactured by Bosch, Germany) is really good and touch screen response is pretty impressive. Apple Car Play really works wow. But I faced issues with USB (16GB USB with almost no space free). Most of the time the system hangs while selecting the songs from USB and every time I have to format the USB drive. Voice Assist is really superb. On a click of button, you can play Album, Song, start navigation or make a call. Navigation is so so. Maps are not quite updated and hence suggest to cross check the route with google maps.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
I am using Baleno in city like Mumbai. So in Mumbai Traffic I am getting fuel economy of 22 to 23 KMPL (avg. Speed of 60 to 80KMPH). Recently I took my Baleno for long drive to South and covered 2850 KMs in 4 days. It was extensive drive (on an average 700 KMs per day) and got the fuel economy of 26.89KMPL. No doubt the roads were 4 lane to 6 lane and my average speed was 90 to100 KMPH. One thing to say that I never felt tired after driving so much. Sometimes the RPM goes below 1000 and engine knocks, but very rarely. Overall full marks to Baleno in this section.
Ride Quality & Handling
At low speed (upto 110KMPH) it is very smooth drive. At high speed, due to light weight you may not get that much of confidence and feels that vehicle is wobbling. I have touched the speed of 145KMPH, but only for few seconds. So it may not be the right vehicle for speed freaks. Suspension quality could have been better, especially at high speeds and speed breakers. But again, due to light weight of the vehicle, you may get the feeling of jumping’s.

Superb car. Extreme comfort for long drives, city drives. Efficient, Comfortable, Stylish and Premium Drive.
