I bought a black Volkswagen Vento TDI (KL 62A 6660), Chassis No: WVWH12604CT062958 on 06/09/2013 from Kottayam EVM VW showroom. Soon after I took the car a series of misfortune happened starting with the A/C failure, paint job and currently the diesel leak from the overflow pipe along with severe engine vibration.
Soon after I took the delivery of the car, I had problems with A/C. The air-conditioning system would which was rectified after a series of checkups in both Kottayam and Trivandrum service centres. On 03/02/2014, while on a reasonably long trip with my family to Trivandrum, my vehicle's engine started to vibrate vigorously and all of a sudden the engine and engine management warning lights flashed and the vehicle stalled in the middle of the highway. When I lifted the hood, i could see diesel leakage all over the engine block and around the injectors. It was a Sunday and I was stranded with my family consisting of ladies in a highway and I had to hire a Taxi and send them back home. I had to call the roadside assistance and registered a complaint to VW helpline, complaint No: CAL35708. They assigned me to Trivandrum VW, where they took 2 days to rectify/replace the so called faulty diesel overflow pipe. I took the car and then again after 2 days, i.e, on Thursday midnight, again with my family (after a function) I experienced the very same problem. On inspecting myself I saw that the overflow pipe on the 3rd injector was loosely clipped. Inorder to get my family back home I plugged the pipe into the injector with my own bare hands (hot engine and fumes). I registered a complaint again, Complaint No:RSB17851 and my car was towed to Kottayam VW for inspection. After 2 days of scrutiny they found a faulty lock pin and changed it. Soon after I took the delivery of the car, I found irregularities in the engine RPM at idle condition. This was a case of concern for me. Again the vehicle stalled while I was in Trivandrum on 02/02/2014, due to severe engine vibration. This time the Roadside assistance (Ref No. 2514102661) took 2 hrs to respond a case which was barely 10 kms away from the Trivandrum VW. After waiting for 2 hrs, I eventually had to drive the vibrating car by myself to the service centre. Again, Thank You VW, for your wonderful Assistance. They took 1 whole day and eventually found a faulty injector which was replaced. This time I did not place any complaint to VW because I realized it as an utter waste of time and energy. After 2 days i.e, on 06/02/2014, I began to notice the irregularity in idle RPM, which started to rise. I contacted the Kottayam VW and asked them to take away the car. I had to cancel my appointments due to this mishap. Now, they provided me with an alternate drive for my daily uses and the technicians there might me standing around my car and having a heated discussion on how diagnose the car. Poor, inefficient VW. Being a behemoth in auto industry, doesnt these guys feel ashamed of themselves? Puny in front of Indian brands, i must say.ఎక్స్టీరియర్/స్టైల్స్

Exterior No one can comment on its exterior looks, You bet!!! Since I baught the Trendline Vento TDI, I just got the door handles and the mirrors painted so it blends well with the body color.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Sufficient and very neat finish, one has to check its finish with his own eyes to spot any areas that VW guys have left unattended, you bet again. Its simple yet great!!!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox What could you expect from a diesel car which wrooms on the road just like a sports car. I have driven this @ 180+ and felt still so silent and performing. I have also driven this at 4th grear in 40 kmph in city and the car can still take it so neat without any engine noise variations. The only feeling is during cold nights i have felt the engine noise a bit prominent. secondly when i start the car after 14+ hours of halt its engine takes about 2 mins to get stable. one has to be patient then, its quite odd, but 2 minutes of life can be given for a silky treatment on the road later. Finally I would say I am proud to drive the best engines any body could imagine.
Ride Quality & Handling Just drive it to feel it, I am a bit in love with my car. It treats your back very well when you are driving long distances.
Final Words Any driving professional would love this car, I was driving a Baleno earlier and Now my investment in getting VW Vento TDI is worth it.
Areas of improvement Dealer experience was pathetic, I got this car from Volkswagen Palace cross Bangalore. But I would not bother on this much because I like the car.

WORST EXPERINCE: After Four months the Gear Box crashed. Company will not give warranty for GEARBOX. So We had to pay 20,000 For changing the Gear box. Its wondering soon after 4 months the GEARBOX crashed. We were using a MARUTI ALTO for 7 years. No such problems happend with that. BUT FOR THIS CAR , just with in 4 months the GEARBOX crashed. Me and my father uses the Car. We both have good driving experince for more than 10 years.We hate VOLKSWAGEN.
Exterior Exterior is Kind of OK.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior Seat covers is good. But the dash board is very bad for TRENDLINE. For trendline they do not have LEDs or LIGHTS for AC FAN , Cool adjusting Knobs.It difficult to rotate the knob to its positions at night. Dashboard looks like a Low end car.

I would like to express my displeasure with the way I was handled by your Chennai VW dealer m/s Sundaram Motors.
I had my service and body shop scheduled 20 days in advance with Sundaram motors Chennai and had my car VENTO TDI – REG NO : TN 10AE 2544 given on 4th July 2012.
As of date I don’t have any definitive reply from the service advisor on the status of my car been repaired or serviced.
I had been calling the service advisor every day to be told that the work would soon be started and he would update me of the status, but no call back on the status.
There is no responsible person at the work station to give me a positive status of my car repair and service and I am now feeling that the Job done by Sundaram Motors would be as poor as the response given by the service advisor.
Final Words Volkswagen India reputation is at stake with Sundaram motors Service Centre handling VW customer in Chennai.

We had purchased vento deisal on 18/5/2012 and we rec.vibration problem in car last month, we had given car at company's workshop on 14/9/2012 and since today we yetnot received our car back, they r doing R&D on our new car and says sometimes wehave to change head of engine and sometimes we have to change gasket and passing time, they dont know when our car will be o.k.giving no time and we r facing problem after paying 9.51 lacs behind this car, so never go for any volks wagen car as there is a problem of after sales service and workshop engineer staff has to mail to vw for problem and then they replies and after their reply local area person work and then if problem not solved he has to do agian mail to vw,so many times kills during this excercise, so ultimately customer suffers, so never go for volks wagen car very poor bad experiance.

I am a user of Honda city for the last 6years , and i wanted to change my car and hence looked at vokswagan vento as my choice. On the web site when i checked for test drive within 10 minutes there was a response and the person took my contact details. My first impression was great. Then the salesperson from the dealer ship in hosur road, bangalore called me to fix appointment. I had sought for an appointment on a saturday at 4 PM , the response was SORRY WE DONT OFFER TEST DRIVES ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS. I was shoched to hear the response. I dont want to waste my leaves for the purchase of car visiting dealerships to have test drive on week days.I wrote a feedback to the company websit. It is almost 15 daysthere is no response from the company till date. Surprisingly thedealership salesperson called me two days before expressing to book the car, I was just laughing on the behavior. I think the company nor the dealership dont have care for the buyers. My opinion they are laughing stock.

Exterior Good and stylish, In first looks, It gives the feeling that "thats the car".
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good and simple, very comfortable, very spaceious even on back seats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Sound inside the cabin just like TATA NANO produce sound outside, more vibrations are there, Engine Technology is outdated i.e. TDI even TATA is giving CRDE technology which has less sound & vibrations, gearbox is very light and easy to use, stearing is very light.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is good, Ride quality suffers due to engine noise & vibrations, otherwise good.
Final Words This is not a value for money buying this car because engine noise inside the cabin and vibrations are more other wise features wise it is a good car.
Areas of improvement Needs to improve on Engine Noise & Vibrations. Need to educate their sales team, who do not know which is the latest technology TDI & CRDI.

Exterior Looks good inside and out. I particularly like the "classy" look which seperates it from jazzy looks of verna or honda city.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Inside too, the design is simple yet very premium looking. Recently I went with a friend to test drive Hyundai Fluidic Verna (diesel), found it very plain not at all premium. There is plenty of leg space behind. Interior quality fittings are top notch. The plastics definately feels better and contriute to preminum feel. Its been almost one year now and I still look forward to getting behind the wheel every day.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is powerful but more importantly very responsive. Although the max power (105 bhp) is not the higest, it comes at low RPM. Last year I felt its pickup and feel was better than Honda City which has max power of 118 bhp ( however that power comes at high RPM, which means you will have to rev up the engine ).
Btw, just to make it clear I have Vento TDI (diesel). And it may be due to VW diesel engine characteristics. I had test driven Vento petrol as well and I did NOT like it. In petrol version, I think Honda city will have an edge.
Further, when I tested Verna Fluidic (diesel) with my friend, I realized how amazing VW engine is! The new verna just doesn't feel match for Vento even with 126 hp of power. While the engine is good, the first difference you notice is pickup is not quick, or atlest like vento. Further, at little higher rpm, the power is not uniform and feels unregulated. If one test drive the both car side by side, you will see what I mean.
With vento, you have very uniform power and acceleration. The gearox is another area. It feels easy and great to shift gears. We had to struggle in Verna little bit between one fo the gear shift.
Of my 14000 Km driving so far, the car is giving me 20-23 km/l on highway and aroudn 12 in the city (with stop and go driving).
Ride Quality & Handling Ride and Handling is excellent. I use it evryday and handles city potholes and uneven roads very well.
ut in long distances journeys I had so far ( 5 times, which more than 600+ km jounreys), you can really appreciate this car even more. You will not feel tired after 10-11 hours of driving..!
Final Words I always wanted a car that you can feel passionate about, feels unique and different than others and one that you can keep it for years. after almost a year I feel I have found that car in Vento.
Areas of improvement Interior features could be better. I liked to Hyundai fluidic interiror features like blue-tooth, rear-camera..etc. But on the other hand I dont regret it. Given a choice between better engine, better interior and quality, I could let go "feature rich" functionality.

Exterior Good style,head lamps looks attractive but tail lamps could have been better,overall excellent exterior with great look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Less spacious with less features,very comfort while sitting but it is difficult to get in and get out of the car,rear seat should have more space for more comfort.If the back space is reduced,the rear space will be more and will have more comfort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Superb engine with great pickup,16 kmpl inside the city and 20 kmpl in highways, overall 18 kmpl, no problem with the gearbox.
Ride Quality & Handling Perfect riding vehicle with excellent handling,great comfort while riding and provides a pleasant experience while driving.
Final Words Great car with less features, arractive car with high performance, excellent fuel economy, best car in its class than ford fiesta, Honda city and maruti sx4.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is adequate, small feature likeglove box and coin storage was very nice The Vento comes with the SpaceMax control which is available for the first
time in any car in this segment. This innovative control allows you to move the co-driver’s seat forward while you sit at the back, thereby maximising legroom.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I love gearbox, it is very smooth and milega i am geting around 19.9. engine per formeance is also nice.

Final Words A good car for money,monthly savings in fuel, I love to drive in highway due to great pickup.
Areas of improvement Delivery time,after seeing my car (I had taken delivery by nov3rd), three to four of my clients (I am an architect) want to book trendline diesel but they not even taking the booking.
