Exterior Looks pretty cool and laid back, quite unassuming and not pretentious. I guess looks are a very personal issue and cannot be objectively rated. I think the Swift looks really cool but my wife just hates it!
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are limited, not so much a driver's car but more of a back seat experience which the competition largely fails at. The rear a/c vents, rear seat individual reading lights and the armrest are well thought out, as is the lever to move the co driver's seat forward from behind. I think this is the first mid-sized sedan I have seen which keeps in mind the fact than many of us chauffered and need the good back-seat experience.
The music system is a huge disappointment. I knew this when I was buying it, but how can they not provide options. What I have never understood is that why car manufacturers dont allow customers to configure and pre-order cars. I had to wait for 3 months for delivery so I could have given my specs and had the car tailored.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Is a little disappointing on the diesel. wish the pick-up was better. Transmission could have been smoother. While the engine is quite silent on idling, the noise is more than expected on the go. The car responds better at higher speeds than a lower speeds.
Ride Quality & Handling One of the best parts about the car. I have hit a few potholes in Mumbai and been surpised at the ease with which the car took it. Also at higher speeds the car hugs the road, unlike lighter cars which feel like they'll take off. One feels safe in this car.
Final Words If you use a driver I really recommend this car. + you get a feeling of solidity and safety even at higher speeds. There is individual rear seat lighting as well for the readers. My wife much prefers the rear seat drive on the Vento to the City.
If you are hung up about fancy features and the best driving comfort, really don't bother. I thought the new Ford Fiesta Titanium was an awesome drive when I test drove it. The City has always been good as a drivers car.
Figure out your primary use first and choose a car which suits your requirements. There is no car that fits all requirements perfectly. Speak to owners, not to salesmen before you buy a car. I have owned this car for 2 weeks, so maybe the worms havent come crawling out of the woodwork as yet. I hope I remain happy, but i have already done about 700+ km on the car in the city.
Areas of improvement Music system, pick-up and transmission, can be a lot better.
Ride quality and handling, rear a/c vents, rear seat thigh support, general interiorspick-up and transmission, basic music system, some engine noise
