BEWARE : This is a cheap cheap car

Bought a 2011 verison of Etios in clearance sale in early 2012. Got it for 7.6 lacs on-road.

Have driven 4800 Kms.

Very disappointed

Exterior Just about alright without being stunning or breathtaking

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Serious serious cabin noise. Will put a diesel engine to shame. some strange low-noise from near the passenger airbag. My friend who owns the same model complains of the same. It is a very slight irritating tik-tik kind of sound. On keeping the air-bag surface pressed, the sound disappears. The external metal of the car is frighteningly cheap. If you exert  enough pressure with your bare hands, i am sure you can create a dent in the body. Doors are uber-cheap and i dont know if i will survie a side-on collision from any vehicle.

Lots of boot-space and lots of space for 5 people including the driver.

But the suspension is so ordinary you wont be able to enjoy that space or comfort without seeing your car hit just about any normal bump on the road.

Above-average comfort in terms of legroom and rear-seating inclination angle. No bump in the middle of the rear-seat and so even the person sitting in the middle can find a long drive tolerable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Acceptable without being great. The torque on the 2nd gear leaves a lot wanting.3rd gear feels better.

Gearbox is alright. The reverse gear needs some finesse in handling, atleast in my vehicle.

Ride Quality & Handling Good when the roads are good. Otherwise, it is bumpy and noisy.

Final Words Dont get carried away by the price of this car. It is cheap for a reason. I would say it is cheaper than you think it is. These few lines are from my own experience. MANZA is anyday a better choice.

Areas of improvement Just about everywhere in terms of quality. Their AD harping about "Q Class" is an insult to quality.

The quality of the body is a serious safety hazard. The airbags wont even be necessary. You will be crushed under metal i feel, in case of an accident.

A serious con-job by Toyota which otherwise is known for some quality.
