Hi I brought Toyota etios liva from galaxy Toyota north Delhi The suspension is noisy like refurbished car from first day. I have complained service center but they are just washing their hand from responsibility by saying it is a manufacturing defect and they can not do anything. I am going to consumer forum. Car average is about 16 km/l Interior with low quality plastic. Suspension like 2/3 year old indica car. Toyota do Not not made vehicle for people like us they made just for taxi walas

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good. the car is not very smooth in city traffic.
Ride Quality & Handling I have bought Etiuos VD in march'12. The car milage is good in Highway almost 20 KMPL, but reduces to 13/14 KMPL in Mumbai traffic. I am facing problem of paint erosion in just 6 months, which is against Toyota quality. Secondly the rear Suspension also makes lots of noise & vibration. I cannot drive the car properly, as car jumps at Speed breakers. rear bumber is not tightly fitted. Overall the car is not very smooth in city traffic. I have shown to technician, but they have not resolved the issue & as per them, this is problem with Car manufacturing & cannot be fixed.
Final Words Toyota is known for the quality, but in Etios it seemd that quality is compromised & I wasted my money.

Etios GD is my first car, my father told me to buy desire my reply was swift is better than desire and in any case I don like either of them. Good and bads about etios.
Space: I am 5.11/90 kg so 3 people like me can sit easily in the back seat. there no bads regarding space. engine noise= with ac its noisy but its just fine. Bad is insulation could have been better to reduce engine noise AC is very good.
Interiors: Color scheme is bad, plastic its not good I realized it later but I gave her good seat covers its looking fine now. Company should work on interiors otherwise car is a sexy bomb.
Mileage: luckily I got chance to go to pune once and lonavala on newyears eve I went with ac on to lonavala did barbecue all night bcoz it was cold I fell sick and while coming back I switched the ac off. overall average was 23.4 I was so happy with figures. 23.4 what else u want. In city I get 14.5 km/l. In city without ac 17.5kmpl. worst traffic like 10 km in 1.30 hrs its 12.5kmpl with ac always on. so I am really happy with mileage people. Ya it depends on driving skills too.
Suspension: too good you don feel a thing i reached at the speed of 140 first time in my life and it was stable no noise no vibrations my wife started shouting as i was speeding too much thanks to centrally located speedo meter.
Torque: It is so balanced, you don't feel the lag everytime it rises slowly as compared to i20 in i 20 u feel like in a rocket and ur stomach feels that gud gudi. That is fine with we young boys but parents don like that quick pick up so etios has got a well balanced torque, could be also because I drive with calm.on high way at 5th gear the engine shows wat this car is capable of so smooth pick up. I love this car.
Paint: simphony silver is wat I have and it looks best in that I guess, its been 6 months now and I have scratches on my bonet I donno if its bcoz of people who rest there bottom on it or bcoz of the cloth my watchmen uses everyday to clean the car. Paint is fine.
Bumpers: First I thought they r so thin, they move when you touch your feet and will break easily and un luckly nayi gadi ko ritz ne pappi de hi di, ritz hit me from behind towards left side I stopped and checked I told the guy let us park the car at side so tat traffic can move ahead and we could settle this, when I tried to move my car it didnt move as it was so badly hit and stuck then I turned my stearing to full left and freed my car. Guess wat only scratches the clip came out but with one punch it went back to normal position. I am not telling rest of the story.
Summary: In my opinion its worth paying an extra 1 lakh 20 thousand for etios if one is considering desire which is also a nice car. Etios is a true sedan. I guess desire has good mileage too but etios is extremely good only 2 flaws in Etios bad color scheme in interiors mind it rascala not inerior design. One can check white and red scheme on google its fabulous I wish I could afford it. Cabin noise is on higher side when compared to desire.

Exterior Exterior is ok ok. yes have encountered problems with doors but overall you can't say its bad expecially if someone is planning to switch from hatchback to sedan.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiori in VD and VX are good what leg space feels like king of road. Person can sleep and knee dance in it, and boot space a person can sit and play his PS3 in it that muh boot space. I have taken it for long journey about 200 km up and down and never got tired.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine rumbles like a beast that much raw power in it segment. TOYOTA really stands upto its name in ENGINE and fuel economy compartment. Geaerbox i would say still needs improvement.

Very good looking when compare to other model it is stylish. Boot is very big for a big famlily. You can carry anything inside because very spacious, enough for two people to sleep.

Very nice and spacious. All are automatic except gear and mirror. If it is a power mirror it would be very convenient. Every time you need to adjust manually that is quite inconvenient. If a small space given between the seats infront, you can make use of it to keep things like small campact cooler etc.

I drive diesel/GD Etios. It is still worth for the money you spend. I thing I got 18km/lit for the first 1000km drive, may be it can be improved if I use the gears properly, ...If Idon't ram the engine at low gear.

Exterior Good looking, only one reverse light.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Looks good but cannot compare with same class vehicles. Tachometer is only available in top veriant. It lacks many new features even common in hatchbacks. Cant see accurate speed while driving due to parallax error. Good and comfortable back seat. Good AC, Cooled glove box, large legroom. Only 2 front door speakers and tweeters are available, but mentioned 4 speakers in manual. Engine noise audible in cabin, more than that horn noise is annoying in cabin. Need some force to close doors. No integrated locking keys with key.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good engine and performance. It gives me 18-23.5 Km/l mileage. While putting reverse gear it makes some noise.
Ride Quality & Handling More comfortable with 4 passengers. Good handling, hard clutch, it gives me knee pain in traffic. You have to forcefully hold down the cluth.

Exterior Fine and cute.it is beautiful with its smiling front.enough length so, can be called as a "taxi vehicle".
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is fine and now 8 times better than when it was introduced in 2011.even the there are 4 speakers,2 of them should be behind.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox As a supporter for petrol engine, I will say its the only powerful petrol engine in this segment. Gear shifting is not much necessary as it is 1500cc petrol engine.it can give us 100 ps power which is only avail for hyundai verna petrol. the car can be used for sports even if it is called as a taxi vechicle. Fuel economy is less for its petrol edition as we expect about 18km/ltr and it cant give that much. But it takes much time to reach 100.
Ride Quality & Handling The car is silent and smooth in handling.easy for handling by oldage.

from back side look is not very good...but after using the back spoiler and chrom fitting this looks goods...but you have to spent 10-12 thousand for the same...fog lamps adding means 4500/- cost more...but car will be car after these three additions.

aux function is missing...sound setting...jaz...classic is missing in sterio , sterio is such as 1995 model....blue tooth is also missing...during fog ...front glass auto cleaning ....is not good due to bad vent system.....

i have driving experience of 6-7 lac km, i was interesting to buy dezire vdi,,,but after compairing space iner and boot, power, economy, body, service cost, i shited to toyata.
in dezire due to low inner space,, vacum creat at high speed disturb the comfort of family...but toyata used flat power generation...keep away from vacum problem...this is the main qulity of toyata engine...smooth driving is feeled..back side leg space is very good...vdi is not providing air bag,, abs,,ebd but toyata is providing the same...in a price of diff of rs 26000/- i recd the all feature...auto cliame control, deep fogger is missing ...chv beat lt is providing the same in their cars...no plate cost is rs 100-150 but totya provide to fial the same.....

Space is good. Head room & leg room is good even for a tall person. Ergonomics is okay.
No speakers on rear door. Instead of 4 speakers in front, it can be 2 speakers each on front & rear for better audio quality. 7 bottle holders not required in a small car. Instead they could have provided speakers in rear door.
No Tachometer in diesel versions.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Flat torque & No frequent gear changes in city traffic. Turbo lag is low. Good highway performance.
Fuel economy is good.
Ride Quality & Handling
Handling is okay but ride quality is very poor due to poor suspension & noise insulation.
Long journey becomes irritable. The tyre noise comes inside passenger cabin.
I am surprised, how this was overlooked during vehicle validation & road testing.
I had changed my front suspension once during 10000 kms service under warranty but there is no improvement in ride quality.
