Exterior Looks an average car from outside. Skoda brand logo gives some appeal but looks are still average as compared to other models like Honda City, Hyundai available at similar range
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) In new Skoda Rapid, features still do not match with Honda and Hyundai because of lack of leather seats, touch screen and reverse parking camers. It pinches to the buyer as he is still paying almost the same price. The steering controls are not user friendly and dash-board information is also very confusing. The dash board information button is attached at the end of the right wiper lever and some may not be able to locate it even. Rear arm rest is there but cup holders would have given better looks. Cruise control button position is also very awkward and not at all user friendly. Anyways, cruise control is hardly to be used on Indian roads but still user finds that button as an addition just for the sake of it and not a conscious effort by Skoda. Also the rear mirrors are only power operated but have to open manually which is a let down. I always thought my engineers at least would set the clock time before handing me the vehicle but they didint bother. Yes, gear lever is very impressive with leather touch and chrome finish.
I have just bought this car yesterday and first day on Road, ABS signal is always on. Which is BIG LET DOWN for me. Called the centre from where i bought this vehicle, they said, dont worry sir, but havent bothered to call back for further rectifying the problem. I guess, i only will have to take the car for repairs not on the very first day of its use. So the customer satisfaction and concerns are the last thing skoda service people have on their minds. MIND IT!! Please check your car thoroughly before you take it out from the centre, else may have to repent like me
Space is good as driver sits comfrortably with space to move around and change sitting positions during long drives. Rear space is also fine. The luggage space in the boot is the smallest in its segment which is a pain if you have three suitcases.
I have driven Honda and Hyundai both and can say that Skoda matches them both in comfort. As you dont feel the bumps much unless they are really big.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine makes uncomfortable sound when you push the throttle a little hard to speed past a vehicle in front but still feels ok. Pick up is better because it is a 1600 cc car and I think better than Honda and Hyundai in terms of pick up.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride handling is fine, smooth steering and easy to drive at high speeds. Good grip on road and remains well in control on sharp turns even.
Final Words Its a good vehicle but Skoda needs to understand they are fighting with Honda and Hyundai which are high on class, high on customer satisfaction, higher on features list, and high on brand value (atleast in India).
Areas of improvement Better quality Instruments, reverse parking camera, user friendly dash board information, customer satisfaction and service and touch screen controls.

Exterior Exterier is good, solid build, though old looking now.

Final Words Excellent Car ruined by the egostic people at Skoda dealers, Skoda might be premium brand, may be no-1 all over the world, but in India whats worls is ASS which is the worst in Pune at least, Viraaj Skoda is the only option in Pune and they are thiefs, charges more than company spare cost, they will force you to change parts without any reason,
But the worst problem with them is they feel they are the King and the customers are at their mercy.
Car is good but do not go for Viraaj Skoda.
Areas of improvement Please improve the after sales service else you will be vanished soon. Already Skoda market share is 0.04%. No time to think, work on the after sales service Skoda.

Exterior Decent exteriors; however not as good as some of the competitors; nowhere as good as the Europen Rapid/Octavia
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Decent Features list, safety - abs, 2 airbags, auto door lock plus hill start assist, space and comfort is good, beige interiors look spacious and premium
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1.5 105ps tdi engine + 7 speed DSG auto combo is a treat. the car runs super smooth, the engine has a superb mid range - there is a lot of power starting as low as 1500rpm. DSG ensures that you get the best of power + Fuel efficiency. however the engine is not rev happy and complains above 3000rpm.
I do almost 85kms daily (gurgaon - noida - gurgaon) and the car gives me 15kmpl. on highways, typical avg is ~20 if driven at 100, ~18 if driven at 120. on one fine day under my strict test conditions, I clocked 27kmpl on a 40-km stretch as well!
Ride Quality & Handling The car has good ride in the city and superb control at high speeds.
Final Words All in all a great buy. bargain for discounts at the dealer level and you will end up getting great value for your money!

Final Words Bad dealers who decieve the customers and are one of the reasons for declining sales apart from bad after sales service as well as resolving customer complaints. In this field maruti is way ahead of skoda even though they are leading car mfg. In my case I was given a car with a defective front windshield and when I reported the matter to the dealer next day and latter to the company no action taken by the company nor any person contacted me. This shows the standard of customer care by skoda which are malinging their image. This is in case of a windshield which is only costing about seven thousand, yet they are not bothered.
Areas of improvement Skoda drastically needs to improve their costomer relationship on their own as well as after sales service, if they are really interested to build their image and increase their car sales. Small good gestures go a long way to improve customer satisfication and confidence, which Mrauti has done and is still continuing. This is because I have a Maruti car also, so I could compare the after sales service. I have purchased this skoda rapid on 29/08/14, however I reliase I have made a wrong decision to purchase this car due to the bad customer care and after sales service. Think twice before purchasing car from Skoda.

skoda offers the pathetic serivce i ever came across, from the minute i booked the cart, bad experince started. They do not keep the promises that they make, if u believe them beware you are tricked. My car was not delivered on the promised date(got it a month late,that too when i spoke to the higer authorities) and i recieved my car insurance after 5months of the purchase date. I had to go behind their back to get work done and yet no proper response. For the servicing of the car no one responsed in time and its not done properly. Car performance is not the same as they claim it to be, the suspension are terrible you will notice it when the speed breaker is taken.
It was the woerst decidion i made to buy a Skoda car, i wouldnt recommend anyone to purchase this car unless you opt for a terrribe sevice quality and experince.

I am using skoda rapid for last 2 & 1/2 year. I loved the car so much and bought it & the fate change over form that day. I too have faced all these problems mntioned below by others. I should say even more.i have drove only 28000kms only and car given for service promtly all the time and never said any no for any charges they made, neither ubjected any thing they recommended and charged.
There are hell lot of major manufacturing fault other that furquan told, i add a bit more so that no one get fooled again.
Front tryes getting flat.
Engine getting over heated and stops in a mid of high way, i never plan any long drive in nights due to this issue.
Suspension Issue.
They faked my invoice. i bought the car on 2013 and the invoice they made in their entry as 2012. so my 02 years warenty expired 06 months before the invoice given to me.
With my entire family 02 times i was standing on the mid of high way road.

Looks like a standard eurpean car , I really like the understated look with glint of sophistication and simplicity and amazing build quality
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)Build quality is superb, plastic and the dashboard is amazing
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox- amazing performance for the new 1.5 engine power is linear, less turbo lag as compared to the previous model. Clutch is a bit heavy though. the gear changes are perfect.
Ride Quality & Handling--Handling is best this is one of the reasons i chose this car. This is the single most cruical selling point for the car if you want something soggy and comfortable you guys are better off with asian crap, but if u really want to enjoy the long drive after work this is the car for you especially on winding roads its even better than its sibling Vento by a good margin.
PEOPLE PLEASE DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SUSPENSION COZ IT IS SETUP AT HARD FOR GOOD HANDLING , I AM WORRIED THEY MIGHT SOFTEN IT LIKE OTHER CARS.
Final Words-- This car is for people who understand the driving dynamics and value safety and ride above everything else, the only reason people seem to complain is coz they dont understand their car, I know the after sales service is not at its best but sometimes its also the consumer at fault.
ITS THE MOST FUN TO DRIVE CAR EVER IN ITS PRICE RANGE--PLEASE DONT EVER CHANGE THE SUSPENSION ---
Areas of improvement : could have done with better infotainment system like the one on Octavia and the clutch can be a bit easy.

I have just bought this car I week ago and I have started facing problems. The rear suspension is the biggest problem in the car. When you will take it to a speed braker, you will face some problem as the rear suspension doesn't works and creates a lot of noise. You will think that something is bumping in the boot space or something is loosely fitted. But no it is problem in your rear suspension.
Company says its designed so that its body does not touches the road but its actually a manufacturing default in this model since 2011. You will face same problems with vento also.
Also,if you are up to buying this car please do not purchase from nawab motors,noida. They dont fulfill their mere comitments or to be precise the necessary jobs of a dealer. Not at all user friendly.
I think this car it over-priced as if we compare it to its competetors like verna or honda city you will find more features in those car in comparsion to rapid.

Exterior Pretty impressive looks. Solid and heavy car body makes you feel safe as if you are protected by the strong Armour in-case of any road accident.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quite spacious if compared in its segment.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine isn't as peppy as Hyundai Verna but the Turbo kick after 1700 RPM definetly excites me and feel in more control of car even in high speeds than Verna. On my way from Gurgaon to Noida recorded the TOP mileage of 21 KM/L (around 10 PM in night, less traffic).
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is pretty good but little bumpy on rough roads because of stiff suspension.
Final Words I almost took 6 months to finalise this car as I was very confused between VW Vento, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid. Offers and discounts on VW Vento and Skoda Rapid confused me a number of times. Hyundai Verna has a very good initial pickup but turbo kick in Skoda Rapid and VW Vento is amazing. I feel Skoda Rapid has a better driving experience than VW Vento despite the fact both the cars have same engine. I bought this car from Nawab Motors Noida and was very impressed the team helped me in decision making. The team wasn't pusshy as others and gave me ample of time to take decison. The best part was their Sales Manager and General Manager spent time with me indvidually to clear out any doubts and quiries I had.
Areas of improvement Skoda should open few more service centers to ensure convenience for the customers. Stay tuned for my reviews with new Skoda Rapid 1.5 TDI.
