      Well.. there are a million sites that speak about the car's looks and performance. So, I am not going to write about that. Of course.. those are bound to differ with each individual's tastes. But i certainly have to write about what entails a buyer after the car is bought

      I bought the TDI MT version of the car in Chennai from Gurudev Motors a couple of months back. Of course, I liked the car for its looks and everything else.

      I had a small accident after about a month of driving it and had to take it to one of their service centers. Seriously.. never come across such bad service for any product. Considering a car that is released so recently and is being promoted vigorously... I would have expected a lot more.

      In all of Chennai, looks like there is only one service center that can take in cars that need insurance claims. Added to that there is not even a pickup or drop service. So.. anywhere in the city, you'll have to struggle to get to their service center and make your own means to get back home.

      Finding their service center is another problem. The body shop is sort of hidden and it takes a lot of work to find the place.

      Reaching there is still the smallest of problems. It has taken about one month for them to get a new spare part. And am still waiting. They don't follow up whatsoever. I was at their service center a couple of times after confirming a date and only on reaching there they tell me they don't have the parts. Looking at it, there is no coordination between the person scheduling the services and the actual service station. Noone calls back for any problem. If it takes a whole month to just take in the car for service for a simple bonnet replacement, I don't really understand how this can even be called a service center.


      REALLY PATHETIC SERVICE. For anyone driving in India, service is as important a feature as the car itself. So.. beware!!

      The car is a great buy, but the experiences with the delivery spoil the fun.. a numerous visits to the dealer, pleading, shouting, or getting someone to pitch for you is what you have to get your car delivered. Even though it was booked 2 months back.

      Also, Skoda is reportedlly not delivering the beige coloured version. Hence would not suggest to go for buying the car right away... its really a pain.

      Exterior The looks are good, nice exteriors and as always the skoda logo adds the royal touch to it, Alloy wheels of elegance model are an add on.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interirors are of specific colour and gels well only with the beige colour of the car.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Diesel engine does makes some noise, but still bearable and slow to pick up but after first 10 seconds you can feel the power.

      Final Words Major issue is the delivery by Skoda, they are seriously defaulting there and my suggestion is to wait 7 -8 months before going for this car, as you might end up waiting with money stuck with the dealers.

      Exterior The car is solid build with smart classic looks. It has a very strong road presence and is surely a head turner. The large fog lamps complements to the main lights handsomely. The clear lines, shoulders and front grill are very catchy and looks smart. However rear is the main USP of the Car a distict Skoda with specific angular boot lid is a treat to eyes. Overall a very balanced design.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Sad that Ergolever is only available in Top Varient. It is not so pricy and could have been made available in all varients. Having said that, the interiors are as solid build as exteriers. Gear Knob, Steering and Window buttons are intelligently design and really soothing to eyes. The cup holder, gove box and driver arm rest space is neat and usefull. Seats are really comfortable and reading lights provide a great feel to the car. 

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is powerful and revs up nice and proper. It has good ratio and feel at ease a low speeds with higher gear. Fuel economy was never Skoda USP, however this time it has improved marginally. Gear box is really smooth however gear knob could have been made little more light. 

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality. Specially at high speeds the car really grips to the road. ABS and EBD have been tuned well. The Car has a limited rear view but thanks to no center passenger head rest, it is not a problem area. 

      Final Words  Skoda definetely come out with a winner, However they really need to tighten the  dealership network. The dealers are really sloppy and insensitive towards customers. No matter what the customer have in mind. He gets a raw deal by the dealors. 

      Areas of improvement No body response to the Help line complaints. I had few issues of concern, called up five times to the help line however to no avail. Non responded. All thanks to good skoda feedback. Surely a big Thumbs Down.

      Comfort is excellent. Road Grip, Mileage and Road Presence is State of the Art. Gives a Solid Feel.Definitely lacks the Omph Factor of Verna Fluidic and City. Steering Controls are really Missed.

      Hi All,

      I chose Skoda Rapid over Verna Fludic, Vento, SX4, Scala and till date I feel the choice was right. Talking about the exterior, it's simple and good. Mine rapid is White and looks elegant. I bought it in December and till date I drove it 5600 KMS and every KM is worth.

      I recently drove it 1200 KMS in the span of 2 days, 600 KMS in one span that too regular driving and enjoyed it to the zenith and it was really surprising that I was not tired , I used to have Wagon R which I have driven 70,000 KM, and some long stretch but at the end I had a bad back ache but riding a Skoda was just awesome.

      And I have touched it to 170 KM/Hr , having 5 heavily build people in ;), and the machine responded in no time to reach 170, then I myself brought it down thinking I am not in Europe :)

      Other span was more interesting, I drove it in complete night, started at 12 AM and drove it to 7:30 AM, amazing experience, I was bit hesitated to drive that night as it was raining heavily but as I started my confident coming back, braking was awesome it looked as if I was driving on normal road.

      The turbo is just awesome, just love the feel it makes you feel as if you are siting on a rocket ;)

      I found some fools around my journey which led me to do heavy braking and ABS was applied. From 130 I was at 0 in no time. There were some bad roads which led base touching road, other than that all was ok.

      I would recommend everyone to surely do a test drive just a awesome machine with good build quality.

      Final Words Hi All, I had recently bought the Rapid Leisure 1.6 AT from Tafe Access, Bangalore. I am happy about my decision on the buy call as the vehicle is good with the AT on road and it has a better stability on road.

      Pros: Strong built, Good exterior and interior looks, Fog lamp , 5 function remote key, Ant- pinch windows, 15’’ Alloy wheels (8 spokes).

      Cons: Airbag missing in passenger seat, No keys in the steering (Audio and Bluetooth and etc.)

      No USB slot, Messed up Nav. system (Power cable fitted right down near to gear shift), No Climate control.

      Areas of improvement Overall a good family sedan and it cost me upfront of INR 10.97 lakhs all inclusive of assure drive and extended warranty for 2013 model. Mileage as per my experience stands 9-10km/l which is compromised for the auto drive in city conditions.

      I am sad to communicate that Skoda has provided us one of the worst booking experience ever. We booked a Skoda Rapid Ambition+ (Brilliant Silver) from Singh Motors, Patna, Bihar on 2nd of November 2013. They took 50k as booking amount committing Delivery within 2 weeks to max end of November. Later when we followed up for delivery, they updated us saying this color is not getting manufactured at all, and hence pushed us for a white color (which we never wanted). In spite of us asking them several times to refund the amount, they kept us waiting for a long time, every time pushing to go for a white model! I raised a complaint against this on the Skoda India helpline but to no use!

      Hence I can openly say, I have no faith in Skoda India Support. I feel cheated by the dealer and on top Skoda India was not helpful at all. For sure I will never suggest anyone to go for Skoda, looking at the horrible pre-sales support, One can expect the quality of post sales support!

      Finally we cancelled this order! One can take late delivery but trust once lost is impossible to get back!

       It is an edited Vento,but rear gets the Skoda C-Motif on Laura.Its booted version of Fabia

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       This car is sparesely equipped.Steering controls,USB port,parking sensors and park navigation system plus leather-wrapped steering.The Vento gets these but Rapid gets none of these.It gets only essentials,SD card port,Aux-in port,Climate control,power windows,airbags and ABS.Now,it is comfortable and also spacious,but it does not have the hatch of Superb and Laura.It only gets a regular boot. 

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

      The Skoda Rapid has the same 1.6,105 bhp engine and fuel economy in VW Vento,so no diffrentiating.It is only the Fabia's gearbox that makes it different.

      Ride Quality & Handling

       Ride quality is nice and handling too is good.

      Final Words

       Rapid is better than SX4  and Aveo but no match of Verna.It gets less features but is cheaper.so it is better than vERNA

      Exterior Can't be better.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Back middle seat not good. The front deck and back deck are not the best.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very smooth, fuel economy not yet tested but seems ok (driven on 600 km so far). Gear box is not smooth. Definite scope to improve. Ride Quality & Handling. Very easy to handle. excellent for city drive. amazing pickup.

      Final Words  Overall a great car. I compared with Vento, Altis and City. It is easily the easiest to handle (even better than Altis). Best among the four in following: Turning radius is a pleasure. Pickup and braking is the highlight of this car. Braking from high speeds leaves no discomfort on rear seats. Most silent engine among diesel versions.

      Two major problems: The front and rear decks are both slanting upwards (can't understand why??), marginally reducing visibility on both sides. Two, the driver usability in inferior to Japanese cars by a distance. Gear box is just ok, while the armrest-handbrake-gearstick alignment is not perfect at all.

      Overall, I'd say it is easily the best car among the four. Did not compare with Verna as it has a 6 month waiting and does not look attractive to begin with.

      Areas of improvement  NA.
