Exterior It looks beautiful to me.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Depends which variant you are buying- the basic models don't have abs, airbag, ebd etc, space is reasonable, quite comfortable in the test drive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance & gearbox was GOOD. Just took test drive today 12-07-2012 so economy? but they claim 20kmpl.
Ride Quality & Handling Reasonable grip on the road, easy handling, as it was a new car so riding was as it should be. but overall it was comfortable.
Final Words I have booked 85 ps diesel Duster today after test drive so thats make my final point very clear. As per renault people this car is basically the extended version of a mid-size class car, so i saw it that way.
I would like to add one thing- when we reach the renault showroom, we all know the main reason is price (which is quite reasonable for this segment) but still we crib for interiors and more & more features. I Believe everything has its price and when you want more features you should be ready to spend more. Go for bmw-x1, crv, endeavour, pajero or....
I came to know that Duster's top variant is approx 60000 cheaper than xuv's basic variant (it has its own features). I never took test drive of XUV because my pocket was not allowing me, but duster is in my range & i pray it should be a good machine.
As far as service part is concerned i am little stressed but as they have reached 10000 booking in 8-9 days (as per renault staff) i feel the company will be planning for more sales & SUPPORT outlets.
THIS IS PURILY MY OPINION, PLZ GO AND SEE YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO BUY ONE.

Areas of improvement Service network, music system, fog light and few small things in basic model, boot space could have been converted into fully collapsible two more seats.

It is far from being true that three persons in the rear can be seated comfortably. The interior in the Duster should have been much more appealing. The glove compartment gives a shabby look to the interior. The color and quality of the plastics inside is certainly poor. I am sure that the same version released in UK would be much better. I think such big companies like Renault should not economize at the cost of their reputation. Today awareness in India is many times more than what it used to be 5 years ago.
It is strongly recommended that repositioning of the blower in front of the rear seat should be undertaken before delivering the vehicle to potential buyers.
The company needs to relook at the glove compatment, it certainly needs a change.
Apart from the above, the vehicle is very good and can be rated as 8 out of 10.

Exterior The exterior looks have come out very well ,gives it a rugged SUV look,the best part is the railers at top,and wheel arches.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space & Comfort is definetly enough,and not many will criticize this,the positioning of various control buttons like,side mirror control, rear ac vent which hurts the elbow when you do quick gear changes and handbrakes. The fit and finish for a price of 1e lakhs on road is not soo great.there are not many feautures but the verdict on interiors will be well to do.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Weight to power ratio is the key point,a 1.5 litre engine with 110 bhp with 248 nm torque is a pleasure to drive it in city and highways,where you will find good responsive engine and very good fuel efficiency.the gearbox is positioned like in any other sedan,and it will give immense comfort on frequent gear changes,considering duster is an SUV. Over all,the less weight of the vechile gives the best in class performance overall.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent handling and this car can be used well even as a off roader. fantastic wheel base with overall height of the vechile short than many other SUV's, which ensures very good control, and comfort with a advantage of not much body roll which is a acceptable disadvantage of any other suv. in short, excellent iun this aspect.
Final Words This is a compact SUV which can be used by any driver,enjoy the pleasure of driving and pay less for the package it is...A normal user who drives less than 1000 kms a m onth can afford it at a cost of 8 lakhs for a petrol verion and a serious traveller can buy the top end diesel with good fuel economy at a price of 13 lakhs and definetly save atleast 3-4 lakhs by not buying any other SUV of this kind.
Areas of improvement The alternative product for duster is not much,hence currently for the price its positioned very well,only future competition should teach them some areas of improvement if any in future.But saying that,this SUV can definetly improve on the interior part at may be even higher costs,giving the loved ones of the car a better interior styling and ergonomics.

Exterior Supered , very new ways in style . Rich like X3 BMW . Look is just sexy , very rich , ground clearance is just great.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very space, seat is very comfortable. Audio system is very good, has USB hub also, plus AUX also. Height adjustable seat for diver side. All power window is great, has back side Ac also, very good cooling system.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Classic, very less noise compare to other SUV like mahindra Scorpio Or xylo, fuel economy is just unbelievable. So other company in india can effort this much milagea in SUV.
Ride Quality & Handling Very smooth and handling is justunbelievable classic.

Areas of improvement Every thing is very nicely made. Just they have make still much powerful engine around 140 BHP power but have good average around 17 km/l.

Exterior Very good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Back seat not very comfortable, specially power window switches at very awkward place, just below elbow. Otherwise good interiors overall.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Am driving duster for over a year now in delhi. Actual average on diesal is just 10-11 kmpl while claimed average is around 17. Was driving city petrol before this and even that was giving average of over 13 kmpl. Already have got 4 services. Even service centre guy says average is less but says can do nothing about it. Can somebody share his own experience of mileage. Expert inputs on the subject are welcome.
Ride Quality & Handling Decent at high speeds, not great at low.
Final Words Not ideal low speed vehicle, clutch very heavy. Needs improvment in emgine noise reduction, at times gives a feeling of starting a tractor.
Areas of improvement Shud come out with automatic version soon, actual fuel economy needs improvement.

While driving the duster it is evident that the car is fitted with a small engine and Renault has built this car to a budget.
I drove the Duster diesel 110ps and what I did not like about the car was that I found myself changing the gear continuously at low speeds. At a speed below 15 kmph the gear had to be changed to first gear every time, else the engine felt it would go off. Immediately after reaching around 15 kmph I had to change to second gear else the engine revs.
After the turbo kicks in the car is nice to drive – but only after really pushing the cars accelerator the turbo kicks in. The difference is easily noticeable of the turbo kicking in and it is not a smooth transition.
I think that the external looks of the car is very nice, the mileage is very good, interiors have a good colour combination, boot space is good and the audio system is good with mobile phone and usb connectivity. What I did not like was the front seats – they seem to have a lot of play and are not firm with all manual adjustments.
I think Renault has lost the plot with this car by building this to a real tight budget. The on road price for the base petrol variant in Bangalore is Rs 8,72,116 and the Top end diesel variant without leather is Rs 13,63,930. A difference of close to 4.9 lakhs in an entry level SUV is a lot between the base and top end variant. I would think someone looking to buy the top end variant would like a lot more and basic safety features such as ABS and Airbags should not be optional.
I have driven other Renault cars such as the Megane, Clio and Koleos and did not have any complains. Maybe Renault should look at an automatic with a 2l diesel engine as this is like an urban compact SUV. I was quite disappointed on the whole with the duster as I really wanted to buy this car – now I think I will wait for the Ford Ecosport or buy the Toyota Innova as I do not like Mahindra XUV.

Exterior Looks like a proper suv with good ground clearence.but built quality n metals used are not that toughlonly looks tough.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Plastic quality,ergonomics doent fit for a car of such high price. Very less value for money. Interoirs looks cheap, design not catchy. Very less features offered. I was waiting for duster and eccosport. Now dropped the idea of duster. Waiting now for eccosport after selling my diesel ritz. I dont knw why people run behind this car. You can get an xuv 500 for this price or atleast go for a scorpio. They are big enough and provides the liberty and flexibility of seven seats and value for ur pay. My friend who was waiting for duster and eccosport jumped for this car becoz he was impatient to wait for eccosport. Now he regrets his decision due to leakage of the car. Yeah, on rainy days the car leaks due to poor sealing of door pads. Imagine my friends mysery after getting a vehicle for nearly 13 lakhs, and as per his opinion the service is also not good enough.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is really gud as weight of car is less. enough grunt, good ride, good suspension.
Ride Quality & Handling Have body roll under hard cornering.otherwise ride is quite good.but doesnt have the handling capability of ford.being an owner of ritz n now figo I can easily access the ride difference and built quality of the three companies. Maruti has the worst built strengh.duster traverses in middle path in built quality and strngth.

Areas of improvement Price, price and price. cannot justify the premium the vehicle is tagged. We Indians seeing something in the form or shape of suv jumps for it without even thinkimg whether the money we are paying is justifiable.

I am sorry i am writing a review of the dealer than the car. However i truly wish someone had done that before me then i would never have gone through the nightmare i am presently undergoing. I read many reviews about Renault Duster test drove the Terrano, Duster and Xuv and finally settled for a Duster. I was very happy with my choice and looked forward to the car. I paid the inital amount on 12 Feb 2014 and then made the full payment on 17 Feb 2014. I was to recieve the car a few days later. However i am yet to receive the car and what is worse is no one from the sales is answering my calls. If they do unfortunately pick the calls they promise to call back shortly and never return the call.
If you want to buy a car and you want a peaceful and pleasant experience do not go to Khivraj Pearl in Anna Nagar.

Exterior The looks are just perfect. The best looking compact SUV in India so far. The woodland brown color looks great. The back is awesome with large D U S T E R words engraved on the boot. Alloys are good.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is nothing special. It requires a 100 changes. The plastic is cheap, TEST DRIVE car's door lock was broken. Dealer was holding the door while I took the test drive. LOL. His excuses was someone smashed the door very hard. The car was driven only 3500kms.
Comfort is very good. I HATED the rear a/c placement. It looks ridiculous and gets in way if you eant to move from one seat to another.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its rocket. I could feel the turbo immediately at 2nd gear crossing 20km speed. I love this pickup its like driving a sedan like Skoda Rapid.
Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality and handling was also good. I own and drive Tata Safari from last over 10 years and now driving this compact SUV was like driving a fast sedan car but powerful feeling of SUV too.
Final Words Yes, it lacks a lot of things but I LOVED its mileage part (hope its as it claims) and the pickup.
Areas of improvement Interiros. Plastic quality. Doors make a lot of noise when shut. Stereo/Call buttons on steering itself and not on the side under the steering. Rear a/c placement.

My car have been given to Khivraj Renault service centre, mount road,chennai for second service with some minor problems on 12/09/2014. they promised me to deliver it on 13/09/2014. When I received my car I found my ipod is missing and even they didn't service my car properly as the problem are still there. It was really a bad experience leaving my car in the service centre as 1.my ipod is missing 2. Given complaint mentioned in job card not done 3.compnay recommened OE products very bad fitting. 4.exterior was not cleaned after the wash. 6.Windshield was very dirty. My service attender couldn't reply to these issues properly and calling the mechanic to fit it at the time of delivery. when I asked my service attender that I should meet the manager but he said he is not avaiable and trying to send me off from the service centre I have written a mail to Vimal chordia, not sure whether I will get a reply or not Anyother alternative to claim my complaint regarding my missing ipod? But I wish to take a serious action instead of ingnoring these things!
I over all like the performance of the renault duster but these GOOD CARS LOOSE REPUTATION BY BAD SERVICE CENTRES.
