      I HV RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR (ZXI) AND I MUST SHARE THAT EVERY THING ABOUT THIS CAR IS GREAT.

      SOME REVIEWS SAY THAT REAR SEAT RIDE IS BUMPY. I COULDN'T FIND ANY THING LIKE THIS EVEN DRIVING AT 130 KM/H ON toota foota ROADS AND ON HIGHWAYS ITS AWESOME.

      ABOUT MILEAGE I WAS A LITTLE APPREHENSIVE THT HW MUCH IT WILL GIVE? BUT LET ME SHARE ONE THING I DRIVE AT SPEED NOT EXCEEDING 60 KM/H AND THE MILEAGE THAT I M GETING IS 18KM/L + ON HIGHWAYS AND 14-15KM/L IN HILLY AREAS THAT TOO WITH AC ON.

      OVERALL A NICE CAR TO OWN. FEEL FREE TO KNOW ANY THING ELSE ANY ONE WANTS 2 KNW ABOUT THIS CAR.

      Hi everyone,since i am gonna celebrate my White SX4 ZXi birthday in 4 days from now,i thought it would be wise of me to pen down my one year of ownership of this fabulous vehicle.

      I was as eager as always for the new SX4 delivery date ,ever since the idea was instilled by my mother to have a new vehicle considering old 800 which had completed more than a decade and a half.

      Initially it was little hard to accustom the shift from 800 to this beast,the tall stance has always attracted me,since i am more of an SUV enthusiast than premium cars.
      I was loving this car with every drive i had with it and even today.
      And with such enthusiasm i had my first service in 45 days.
      second one was after 6 months and last one, a month back.

      All the services were well done.
      Only time had me realize that no wonder the car is thrill to drive but the mileage was not the one to be boastful about.[unlike my friends with OHC,]
      But Of cars in the segment and above have just fairing with an avg of 10-12 kmpl ,with mine 11 kmpl. avg with lowest being 8 [at times the way you drive the figure shoots down if you are not those happy drivers who love driving more than Racing] made me more than content for the joy of driving this vehicle which behaves always in your total command no matter what comes your way.
      What i found was the number of comments from people appreciating the dash board which looked more sense than just looks,well it was futuristic with those matt chrome strips next to the centre console.

      Steering was very much repsonsive at any speeds you go except the plastic feel that slips from your hands when you sweat.
      Aircon is good and chills down very efficiently even at the back.[so i wont demand rear vents unless in sahara desert,yet i will welcome them]
      The Electric controls for everything never ditches you.Yet it comes with a tag-I am some cheap plastic yet user friendly.

      Quite comforatble are the 3 centre controls for the ac and rear defroster.
      Being an avg driver i prefer my Seat to be in extreme position and yes at times the steering tilt came with a welcome note for me.
      The side door bottle holders do justice.
      Seats are not the most comfortable ones,specialy when you are  tired from work and driving.More specificaly on the lumbar support.

      No rattles what so ever since the purchase.The engine is rock solid and maximum speed achieved with the engine is 170 KMPH on noida toll bridge,thats where you start feeling it wont reach beyond that point unless luck is in your side.
      Its a fun drive vehicle in city traffic,with those hydraulic Clutch,driving seems effortless.
      The engine buzzes at higher RPMs which is very much attributable to the DOHC engines whihc produce humming at higher RPMs.
      JK tyres dont do justice at all with the kind of noise they produce on road while crusing at high speeds unless you have nitrogen in them.
      Apart from the above negatives i feel the vehicle is worth every penny you have spend, for the VFM and the STYLE it has in offer from young to old,from ladies to a MAN.
      Biggest plus is the ground clearance and the manueverability.Keeping aside the fact that the Maruti ASS has become more userfriendly than ever and even minor issues are handled carefully if brought to notice,i feel the car does fair pretty neat.

      It screams of justice for more number of plus than minus.

      With time SX4 has become more obsolete in styling department and needs little aggressiveness in styling from inside out.
      So if you looking for a VFM sedan,i would definately recommend you SX4 without hesitation.


      Gem to ride,sticks to road,manueverability and the tall stance-road looks llike that from an suv.engine noise at high RPMs,interiors dull and seats are not one of the most comfortable ones.

      Maruti Suzuki SX4 is an A3 segment sedan car and is really a perfect blend of style, performance, safety, and comfort. The combined efforts of Suzuki and Maruti that have gone into its manufacture have made the SX4 popular among the car connoisseurs of India. Available in numerous vibrant colors and two variants, the ZXi and VXi, Maruti SX4 has bowled over Indian buyers, who dream of owning a luxurious car.

      Last Gen SX4 was powered by 1586cc, 4 cylinder petrol engine with developed maximum power 102 Bhp with maximum torque of 154Nm. The New engine is a 1600cc VVT(Variable Valve Timing) power-plant producing maximum power of 104 Bhp at 5600 rpm with maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4100 rpm. Maruti has plonked a new 1.6 VVT engine in SX4 so that it complies with the strict emission norms which will be in effect from April, 2011 in 11 cities in India. The new engine is a 1600cc VVT(Variable Valve Timing) power-plant producing 104 Bhp which is 2 Bhp up from previous 102 Bhp.

      Final Words Maruti has also given some cosmetic design upgrades to the exterior and interiors to make it look more muscular and smart in comparison to Fiat Linea and Honda City. The interiors of New SX4 are more or less same like the outgoing model with minor changes which includes new upholstery for seats and new gear lever in automatic variant. Also an option of USB support has been added in the dash integrated music system. Also New is Wooden finish door mounted power window console. But overall the interiors of SX4 feel a little bit cramped with less rear leg room and small rear windscreen. Front seat headrests are very big in size and the distance between the seats is also very less. Leather seats are optional in the top-end ZXi variant; it also comes with a neatly integrated in-dash music system as part of the standard package.

      Automatic air-conditioning with attractive Matt-silver dials and steering-wheel-mounted controls for the music system are also part of standard fitments in the ZXi variant. The pair of brushed chrome strips that straddle the central console looks good and the chromed air con controls also look and function well. It is obvious there are a lot of bits carried over from the Swift on the insides as well, stuff like the steering wheel, power window buttons, air con vents, some switchgear and the gear stick. The electric mirror adjuster knob feels particularly tacky. A nice touch, however, is the fact that there is space to store a bottle in all four door pockets and that this car can be bought with leather seats. In terms of equipment, the New Maruti SX4 is really good.

      Exterior Stylish and tough look.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious interiors and enough boot space, but a little bit inexpensive looking plastic work inside.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good repsonsive engine and good handling at 0-100 Kmph(Good ride quality and handling. Excellent in bad road conditions),Good grounf clearance, Good fuel economy for the size of the car - 12-13 kmpl. Gear shift is little hard in 2nd and 3rd gears.

      Final Words The car is a value for money and delivers good performance. The handling of the car is excellent and feels good when engine respond to driver efficiently. I have driven this car for almost 7000 kms and was extremely happy with the performance of this car.

       

      Areas of improvement Gear box and Interiors. The gear shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to2nd is little bit hard. The driver has to guide the gear from 3rd to 2nd with a slight push, otherwise the gear just falls in the 4th.

      Exterior Although not an eye catcher, the car is exteremly good all around.  However, what left to be desired is the joints near the rear bumper and the body, where the finish could have been better.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good Spacious car, the air conditioning is good and got to experience this in 42 degrees celsius and was happy about the outcome. Went around a 2000 Km trip from Chennai to Kerala (4+2) and it was indeed a comfortable ride all throughout.  Again for such a car, you would have expected a remote boot opener, which is missing.  The integrated MP3 Player also could have been upgraded.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox On the highways, 110 kmph was sweet, however @120, you feel the vibration and you do not want that from a 10 lac car..I am not sure whether things would improve with the coming services (as i have only completed 2000 kms).  Havent been able to test the fuel economy in detail, however looks like good so far.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Except at the corners (on the hills) where the visibility is almost nil, the drive was comfortable.  It's truly a driver's car.

       

      Final Words Great Buy.

       

      Areas of improvement Perfomance beyond 120 kmph, visibility at corners, remote boot opener, MP3 player.

      I have been driving a Santro XO (2005 model) for exactly 6 years. Having driven about 60,600kms and due to increase in family members :) I decided to go in for a sedan this time. I had all my confusions about the Ford Fiesta, Verna fluidic, Tata manza, Toyota Etios and Suzuki SX4. I test drove all of them except the Toyota Etios. Here are my observations: (Please note these are my observations and I do not intend to generalize in any manner)

      Manza:

      Pros - Very good leg room, good interior design, good boot space.

      Cons- The frame protruding into the boot did not appeal very well to me, engine pick up not too great, interior plastic quality.

      Ford fiesta:

      Pros - very good design, great storage inside, good boot space, very good features.

      Cons - low ground clearance, rear leg room.

      Hyundai Verna fluidic:

      Pros - very good design, good interior storage space, comfortable seats.

      Cons - low ground clearance, not too much of leg room, rear glass design very bad.

      SX4:

      pros - very good design, best driver comfort (I found good thigh support only in this brand as I am almost 6ft height), excellent ground clearance, tall boy design, stiff seats (good for people with poor backs) :)

      cons - 'A' pillar(I guess I have to get used to it, interior storage space can be increased, glove box space also can be increased.

      Exterior Very good design, highest ground clearance in sedan.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I liked that the model has competitive features like - USB drive, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustable seat, very comfortable seats. I did not like the glove box space and also the cup holders/intrerior cabin storage space. Boot space was good.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance on par with verna and ford. I knew I am not going to drive on the lines of a formula one driver in Bangalore traffic, fuel economy has been improved to atleast about 14-15kmpl, in the city (I need to verify this after my car arrives), gear shifting was also quite smooth.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality was very smooth, the A pillar is a drawback though. 

      Final Words I decided on the SX4 as I was particular about - GC, AFSS, tall boy design, comfortable seats, value for my money. I had an initial confusion on petrol vs diesel - finally decided on petrol as my drive in the city was about 30kms per day and about 300kms on an average on the highway per month.

      I had gone to the Sagar automobiles on Bannerghatta road and the sales executive was very polite, extremely patient in answering my repeated queries, all paper work done at my comfort, I was also able to bargain more dealer discounts. Most importantly they did not hurry me up in taking my decision instead helped me by asking me to take a test drive of the other brands as well ! I am proud that I have taken a decision of going with Maruti.

      Areas of improvement I guess I can fill this in detail after my car arrives. For now I would say the A pillar design should be improved, glove box space improved and bring in the cooled feature into this, add on rear seat folding feature, driver and rest (for the left arm).

      Exterior Good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good, Back seat is slightly cramped but okay.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent performance wrt fuel consumption but not compromising on Pickup, 20 to 20 Km per kg is the fuel economy, excellent pickup. After start in petrol, press the gas paddle few times ,it gets Shifted to CNG. Value for money. I had lots of hesitation in the cNG model of SX4 as there were no demo cars available in Pune. I had chosen kothari wheels. They had shown only Petrol ones. Lots   of so called experts had told me not to go for it but I beleived Marutis credibility in MArket. I sold my Ford Icon flair model and got it exchanged there itself. No hassles at all. Driven only 829 Km and had done my first servicing.

      Ride Quality & Handling Excellent. you dont feel the bounce on Bumpy roads. Good hieght and you get the feel of an SUV, It is a SUV chasis only, I feel

      Final Words Please go for it but only cons is that you have less CNG filling stations.. and the pressure is low. You can fill only 10 Kg as the max. You have to wait for 30 to 45 minutes minimum for filling. The pressure is erratic, Government should evangelise CNG by having more Stations. It is contribution to green environment and reduction of Carbon footprint.

      Areas of improvement Driven only 829 km. Too early to say

      Loving you all, This is Jayaraman 27yrs , chennai. I bought sx4 zdi last month 24th august from popular maruti anna nagar, excellent service from this showroom tell the delivery & after delivery follow ups. I will always recomment to others.

      1st - Over all sx4 zdi is an good choice, For any buyers who is interested to buy a car always buy high end version. This sx4 zdi costs - Rs. 10.78lac onroad. 

      2nd - This car is absolutely awesome in all aspects i almost completed self drive of 2000KMS in twenty days. Till now no issues. Good balance , good road grip , good mileage , good boat space , good locking , Stearing control is awesome it is hight adjustments & driver seat adjustments ..

      Extraordinery dick space , excellent a/c throw IN AUTOMATIC climate control , excellent ABS brakes , Good gear shift. ( For those who face gear shift problem please apply full cloutch for gear chances ,  16KMS PER LITRE , HIGH ways 18kms per litre its real. Factu factu!!! And it will increase in mileage based on further service.

      Interior - Formal colors, good music system, good sound at volume 8 itself, Nice road clearence, strong body, Good view from all mirrors. 

      Engine performance is awesome for all climate conditions - good pickup , easy to drive @ 120kms per hour , so soft & it will still perform more after that , i can say now MEN ARE BACK now.. Its a jet after 120kms , we can drive easily 150kms to 160kms at good control. 

      I went at maximum speed of 140kms per hour.

      This is my 1st car & the best car in my life time. Iam lucky to own it..
