      Exterior   ok.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)average. this is a discarded model ..and i would not buy maruti product in the future. the authorised service station is pathetic, and you will be blamed for everything and will present you a big fat bill..

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox very bad after 20000 kms. engine gets overheated...be careful!!! engine after getting overheated, car starts knocking. the air conditioning stops working, and when you go the sai service, at lower parel, you are been slammed a big fat bill inspite of car being in the warranty peroid. the  mechanics purposely blame you for the same that you have not done the regular servicing. horrible expewrience!!!

      or blame it that you have done the work outside....so guys, please, look for some other options and do not buyt this car forever..

      All of us know features and technical details of this car. Let me start with my own feeling of this car. Yesterday I got this car delivered and so far I have driven in 40Km in city traffic.

      Rear middle seat-This was very bad in the demo car but surprisingly my car got good rear seat. Hand rest is seems to be corrected. I think MUL rectified this problem. Yesterday I had driven car with 5 adults (including me) + 1 kid in traffic for 20 KM. Everybody was comfortable at backside.

      AC -Yes it was effective and able to chill inside

      Rear visibility - Forget about this. This is not so good and I installed reverse parking senser which costed me another 3K. Now I can take reverse easily w/o depending on anybody. It made parking easy.

      Music system -4 channel decent sound, though not very powerful. I was planning to add amplifier but no need. Sound is good till 75% of volume control which is 10 times more than normal human listening levels. It is not like boom-boom which can be heard upto half km. I am a DIY and have experiense of 15 yrs in this field (from tube amp to class A, AB, D and class T amplifiers). Still I will continue OEM music system.

      Breaks - realy very good than HC. I can say best.

      Interior - Yes, it is not as good as Honda City but not so bad. If HC score is 100 then I give my SX4 score as 80. (diffence is there only in door/dash  plastic, which scores less in SX4. Rest of metal finish, AC buttons are very good than HC)

      Noise - Engine noise is not heard in normal driving, but it is noisy than Honda. (Doesn't matter for me, I know honda has best engines). tyre /road noise inside cabin is 10% more than Honda City.

      Performance - Initially I felt this car is slow starter than Santro. But I observed that I never crossed 2000 rpm to reach 60km/hr speed with 3-4 gear. means power is there. (This was with 5 adults + 1 kid in the car.) I am moderate driver, not a racer. but try to keep constant speed of 40-60 in city. I have yet to test on highways.

      Visibility - Some people say quarter glass is producing blind spot. But I dont think so. By properly adjusting the height of drivers seat it does not seem to be any problem.I took several sharp and big right/left turns. no issue here. overall visibility is good except rear.

      Mileage - I can tell you after a week or so. I need to drive more. My impression/expectation is 1-2 km less than HC.

      Rest you know from other forums.

      Summary - I am happy owner of this car and yes it is worth of money. Though some feature are better in other cars, they lack safety or overpriced. Again after sells serive and availability of parts easily is plus point for Maruti. More than one dealer are present in my city means I am not on mercy of any single dealer for service.

      Have been driving the SX4 Zxi for more than a year now and Maruti surely seems to have got it right for the Indian market. The high ground clearance, great features and trememdous power.

      One major grievenace with the car though is the A-pillar arrangement that blocks vision and creates a kind of blind spot every time you take a turn on a perpendicular/curved road. Have tried ignoring/getting used to this problem, but i nearly knocked down a bike rider the other day and felt awful about it.Have had similar , though less dangerous experiences  earlier but the last one really brought the problem to light.Whatever the design aspect this A-pillar arrangement provides, I see this as a clear flaw in the design of the car. Am really surprised Maruti/Suzuki has missed catching this one.

      wonder if any of the other users have been bothered by this. Pls let me know.

      I’m buying a C-Segment Car & did test drives of SX4, Verna, New City, Linea. My views are as under:

       

      SX4 : maruti tag, network, service, features, Resale are strong points. However, during the drive, I did not found ride quality or drive a pleasure. Somehow It feels heavy as compared to others & does not give a feel of finness of verna/city/linea. A-pillar is an obstacle while turning the car. Only 2 persons can sit on rear seat as the middle portion is popped up & does not have headrest.  It has almost all features as other cars have (& some more also) except linea.

       

      Verna : The best ride quality among these 4 cars. Power is very good. Even in 5th gear, it climbs mumbai’s overbridge easily without giving any feel of engine underpower. However, the design/ looks does not excite me. Neither it has airbags which are common now in all such cars.

       

      New City : Good, Reliabile, Good Resale are strong points. However, its kinda monotonous & does not give excite

       

      Fiat Linea : Engine though some reviews suggest as underpowered, I did not feel it & it looks alright though not as powerful as verna during ride. Features are mindblowing, Blue n me, Rear AC Vents, “my car” are exclusive to this car only. Nicely styled with a very good shape in the front with grill. I had almost made up my mind. Am held back only because of concerns on Fiat reputation in India, After-sales service, dealer network etc. Have heard Tata’s are doing a good job on service & spare parts are now easily available at competitive prices but am not sure how long will this Tata-Fiat Marriage last. That’s the only concern, if any of you can help with their experiences

      Exterior Closest U can come to buying a sensible SUV crossover type vehicle.Strong Muscular Stance, large wheel arches, Big Boot. Even with 5 people and luggage the ground clearance is commendable. Fender benders are cheap to repair compared to Honda's and Hyundai's. Alloy wheels give a sporty look. My mettalic beige colour has not aged much.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort Tall design with large windows and doors gives a roomy feel. Unlike Honda City n Civic even 6 feet guys can get in and out without applying hairoil on the roof. Many small but important features like auto door lock at 20 Kms, head lights-on warning sound, seat belt indicator, electric adjustment of ORV mirrors etc...were segment firsts. Drive Shaft tunnel is a pain in the back (pun intended) as is the commode seat(middle seat) in the rear as it contains teh arm rest. I know guys who chose S Class over 7 series becoz 3 people could not be seated at the back. But front seats are very comfortable and drivers seat has height and recline adjuster. Pre-tensioned Seat belt can also be height adjusted. Again industry firsts. Integrated Stereo is good but not for serious audiophiles. That is too much to ask at this price point. Window lock, door lock etc conviniently positioned. Child safety lock standard in Zxi.Switches and knobs are well positioned. Steering mounted stereo controls are a plus. Nice fit and finish with high grade plastic in black and silver two tone. Much better that Totota etios and VW Polo, both of which have a hacksaw, indica type plastic interiors finish. Quality reading lights and two map lights at the front are another well thought out add-on. Standard black mats are cost savers. (free from dealer) but dont go with the overall feel of thiis car. Look forward to Bluetooth enabled interiors. Get mysterious squeaking sounds from dashboard after long drives over bad roads. Never tried to get it rectified as it disappears if I drive on good roads.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox - Engine has grunt and I never felt the car was under powered. Having said that, I regularly get whupped on the expressway by Honda city's and Hyundai Verna's. I beat the fords though. Feel much of the power is concentrated on the lower rpm's and car needs more torque in third also. The fuel economy is not something U can write home about. In city I get 10 KPL and I drive like a environmentalist.  I still feel there is room to tune for better mileage with this engine.  The Gearbox is nice and solid and it is easy to imagine you're slotting gears in a Ferrari Style Gate. clutch not too heavy either. Overall, does the job it was intended for.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling-  High stance gives considerable body roll and advise Shumacher types against trying hard apexes with this car. But Power steering makes it a dream to drive with tyres following steering inputs in fairly precise manner. This car is a family sedan and it does that responsibly well. Drives to Matheran and Mahabaleshwar are a breeze.

       

      Final Words In 2007  I had shortlisted Honda City Gxi and Maruti Suzuki Sx4 Zxi. The honda was an older model on the verge of being phased out, with poor back seat space, difficulty of entry and exit and was still 1 lakh costlier on-road. Add high cost of ownership to that. My decision was easy. Sx4 Zxi is the Most Value For Money mid sized sedan in India today.

       

      Areas of improvement Add bluetooth interiors. Get rid of A pillar blindspot, rear commode (Middle) seat and drive shaft tunnel in rear(Big Ask). Parking sensors would be a good idea as they are not that expensive. Elctrically operated ORV's. And that small rubber mat to cover the drive shaft tunnel in rear is amateurish. Better mileage would be appreciated but I have not experienced the new K -Series engines.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox POOR FUEL ECONOMY. NOT MORE THAN 10 KMS PER LTR IN CITY RIDE.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling NOT SMOOTH, CHEAP INTERIORS, NOT WORTH THE MONEY TOU PUT.

       

      Final Words DZIRE IS MUCH BETTER FOR MILEAGE.

       

      Areas of improvement Due to the extra framing  in the front sides, the right side view for the driver is not clear and while taking a right turn or traffic suddenly coming from the right side, the driver is unable to see properly. This is very dangerous and I had quite a few just misses due to this. Hope the Maruti desgn team will look into this seriously. This has been informed earlier also but no reply from Maruti. Mileage is another area of concern since it is just 10kmpl in city. Highway is around 11.5 to 12 kms per ltr. I have purchase this vehilcle in last year March end and my vows of poor mileage has reached the deaf ears of Maruti people in visakhapatnam. The show room people and also the service people couldn't do and didn't do anything on it. The 15.5 kms per ltr mileage promised by the dealer and Maruti is still a dream for me. I am still waiting for someone to take it seriously.

      Exterior Exterior is good if you compare with the other sergment.  Yuo can get the more than what you invested in this.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is not that much attractive. This is only area where Maruti should focus. As far as space is is concern, it is superb and i used this car for carrieing my bunglow material such as tiles and paints. We can carry llot amount of material in its huge dicky. Compfort wise  this car is good.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engin performace is good. Pick up is gr8. I am getting avarage arount 12 km/lit, which is quite good in this type of segment. Gear box is a good. We can change the gear smoothly.

      Ride Quality & Handling I have tested my SX4 upto 130 km/h. There is no any vibration. We can not feel that we can can at this speed. I simple awsome performance

      Final Words After seraching from SWIFT, Dsizer, LOGON, finally I stopped at SX4 and decided to purchase this only. And now I am fully satisfeid with my selection. Really Men are Backkkkkkkkkkkk.

      Exterior Really it's a fantastic exterior and style to ride with a 100% pride, I feel very proud to own a SX4 especially Black. Now my car has been called us Black Beauty by everyone. Excellent ground clearance will help us from the frequent Speed Brakes at Chennai.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) ZXI comes with an extra ordinary features with AC Climate Control,16" Alloy Wheels, Great Boot Space etc... We can't feel that we are going in a Maruti Car, its like a Skoda or Mercedes Cars... Even i have driven Honda City & Ford Fiesta but i felt Sx4 is a great car compared to other cars with respect to Exterior,Interior,Performance,Ride qulaity & Handling.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great pickup and decent milege.

      Ride Quality & Handling Even at 130 KM/Hr SX4 will have a complete control on the road... When you drive this, You would be feel like a KING of the ROAD.

      Final Words Really Men are Back !!!

      Areas of improvement Would suggest to release Sports Red in SX4.

      Dear friends,i have been driving for around 10 years and owend differt cars,but this is really a man's car.my first car was a  maruti 800.the car is good but no safety,then i owned a zen but it was really good car ,but the company stopped.then i had a scorpio 2.6 model.

      two months back i brought my new sx4,it gave me the real experience of the cars which i drove in Middle east and US.our guys should change from fuel economy and look for real perfo.. of the vehicle we use.

      compare it is very hard but for service maruti rates the best.still i had a bad exp with the sale's guy.their knowledge of the vehicle was poor and they do not know,what all a customer needs when you are in a showroom.this exp.. i never had when i took my 800 and zen.

      the car is highly good compare to others,hope suzuki does direct mark.. in our country.

      I have been driving SX4 Zxi since October 08. I went for this car after comparing all the cars in my price range of 5.5-8.0 lacs feature by feature and specification by specification for almost six months. No other car will offer u features and comfort of Maruti Sx4 Zxi at this price. SX4 gives an excellent driving pleasure on highway. In addition to initial prices we should also compare  other costs of future i.elike routine paid service charges, replacement charges etc. where Maruti SX4 scores way beyond other cars..I didn't want to spend additional Rs.1.5 lacs for buying perceived status of driving Hond City. Comlare it for your self and you would end up buying Maruti SX4 Zxi. Honda City was forced to launch new model just to match features of Maruti SX4 Zxi. Honda City definitely is an equally good car ,but then why to spend additional 1-1.5 lakhs for an equally good car.

      Let us not forget widely spread service and repair network of Maruti as well.
