Just got my new Dzire Vdi BS4 in 16 days :)) A short summary after driving 1100 kms...
Exterior The car lacks the punchy looks of swift or i20 but still minimilast exteriors go good. Chrome exhaust Rocks the looks of the car and adds a bit spice to the rear.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The colour matching of interior su*ks till you get an all black leather seats and steering wrap fitted to your car. Then looks amazing :))) Also The Black Tawanise plastic mats rock the car. The Car provides a good feature set but the music system is a little disappointiong b'coz it lacks USB port, CArd reader port. But an amount of RS 200 can set it right on the track by buying an FM modulator. THE rear seats are a lil' uncomfy but the addition of ARMrest rocks. Another thing is that the storage space is less in the interior cabin...
Everything else is good and the car is nice to have.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is amazing. tHe first 1000kms gave an milegae of 20km per litre with ac. That was really Nice. The gearbox is soft and nice and it has a nice sporty feel. Power comes in the 3rd gear and the engine zooms itself!!!
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good except the bumpy suspension. In my opinion the car cuts itself very good i.e. the handling is NICe to have in a city car.
Final Words Excellent car, Must buy for this segment. I was considering the MANZA but changed my mood due to the Network and low maintainance of MARUTi and i guess i have made a right decision.
Areas of improvement The interiors, a bit of accesibilty in the cabin like increasing the storage space and please Maruti cahnge the name from Swift dzire to DZIRE. thats a must.

Overall Experience I am not a user of car but plan to buy one in near future. I have made a test drive and was motivated to write my pre-owner review of this car. I have gone through the various brochures of the various models but have ultimately opted for Maruti and even booked the Desire LDI after careful examination of various pros and cons. Now I am waiting for my turn to become the proud owner of Maruti Dezire. Definately a day will come when the dealer will inform me to collet my dream car. The waiting is very beautiful because I keep on dreaming and making various plans to go on the long drive. One thing which have pained me a lot is that the features offered by Maruti in LXI, VXI or ZXI(LDI,VDI or ZDI) models are similar in all of its models irrespective of their prices. For eg the LXI/LDI versions of Maruti does not have power windows of Stereos. It can be understood that VXI Model of Wagon R have power Windows and stereo but amazingly, the LDI version of Swift dezire does not have such features whereas its price is very high compared to that of the Wagon R. I am not comparing the Engine capacity because the maruti will say that the higher price is for the engine. This version cannot be agreed because other models such as Tata Manza, Ford Figo are providing the advanced features in their cars if compared to that of Maruti. The winning point is only the services which other cars do not have. I Cannot understand that why Maruti shows discrimination of features with their models. When someone is purchasing a higher model some basic features should be provided in the higher model as standard.The cost of power windows or stereo is not so much that Maruti cannot afford to provide in the Dezire LDI but it is pinching when such features are available in the lowers models such Alto Excite etc. The Estilo VXI have all features including the leather seats. It is understood that since this model have not become such popular therefore maruti have included these features to raise the sales of this car. The Swift models of maruti are available on the waiting therefore this opportunity is being encashed by the Company and they are offering their premium models on "as and where" basis.You have to pay extra for installing these features in your car whereas you have alreay paid a heavy amount for the higher model. Maruti have a good hold over the Indian Car Market but these cheap policies will bring a bad name to the Company.Though I have not owned a car yet but opted to stay with maruti due their good service network and positive image.I think that Maruti will consider on this point and will find to implement some positive changes in this regard. I will continue to submit my next review when I will own the Maruti Dezire in future.

The car is good and quiet econominal .But the main problem that is faced by us as costumers is that we have to wait for the for a long time. Since Maruti is aware of the demand why doesnt it increases its production for the car.These strikes isn Maruti recently has increased the days of waiting. Earlier we had to wait for car for 72 days now we have to wait for more than 150 days which is approximate to 5 MONTHS. This strike has decreased the produtio of the car and has increased the waiting perion. I just want to ask everyone when will this strike get over and will this strike lead to decrease in the production.thus i request the as to increase its production as earlier as possible.The company has to do something in oder to satisfy the consumer's needs.If the company does not increase its production it will decrease its constumers. Though maruti is a prestigious comapny and the best company in the motoring.

Exterior Actually maruthy have really win in the strategey of brand extenssion of Swift that have really hit in the mind of india car lovers. it have little bit of better look than Hatch back swift. especially in its grill. but overall body waight and stability and stengh of the body is not up to the mark of standard. it is very weeker in stength so there is a greater chance for higher maintance cost when any accedent happen. its froont pumper and other body parts are purely made with weaker fibre material and it clipped to its body so there is a chance for eazy damage.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When we conseder the interior of SWIFT, it have a little bit of better look than other model of maruty cars. but we canot compare its interior with other same segment cars, if we do that swift may be the last one inthat list, because its interror almost have weaker plastic look, not even in sternght. it just clipped with each other. The dash board and AC windows are ordinary look. the only better part in in side is its gear leaver with leather cover. And consedering the space it feel little smaller than hatback model so its back seat possoion is not a comfortable one. it is not much a roomy car. its boot space is very conjested compare with other models in the segment. but its decky space is very big so we carry a lot much of our laguages.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox If I ignoring to say any thing about Dezires engine performance it will be the greart falt, its performans is really " AWESOME " nothing to say about it. its power in 3rd gear is really good. Maruthy rurned its engine that really suit to ride in indian cities. its mileage is also great defenitly you can expect more than 17.5. Perormance is the Key winning factor of Swift dezire. like its name really it is a dezirable car to each people.
Ride Quality & Handling THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS GOOD BUT THE RIDING QUALITY OF THIS CAR IS NOT MUCH GOOD, WHEN YOU GO FOR A LONG RIDE WITH A DEZIRE YOU WILL FEEL DISCOMFORT VERY QUICKLY. AND IT IS NOT EAZY TO HANDLE IN CITIES, BEACUSE OF ITS BOBY SIZE SOME PARTS ARE LITTLE BIT BULGED OUT FROM THE BODY, ESPECIALLY THE REAR PUMPER SIDE AND MUD GUARD AREAS. I NEVER FELT THAT IT IS HADY CAR IN MORE CONJESTED ROADS.
Final Words ALL OVER SWIFT DEZIRE IS A GREAT ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN AVAILABLE IN INDIA, IT IS VERY ECNOMICAL AND POWERFULL IN TITS PERFORMANCE.

I have purchased my car in May 2011, as per extensive travelling schedule I hv done approx 80 k with out any major set back. Best car in this band with good resale value.
I have traveled with it both on highways, City and rough terrain.
Exterior Nice, global touch and its totally depend on person to person, in my words its make presence felt.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All requer.ied featuress are available, space in front seats are good but in rear good for 2 only.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The big sale of swift and swift dezire is due its engine, performance, looks and easy drive only, in other words its has make its very big mark in indian automobile arena.
Ride Quality & Handling Good very nice on both higjwys, city and rough
Final Words Have it, best value for money with lot of fun.
Areas of improvement Built quality is poor in both older version and new also (in new space is less also).

Exterior IMO good , always attract people , even few are jealous.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its good pacakge for car of this price, I am 5' 11'' and that is reason I bought this car, feel quite roomy and comfartable . I had test driven many cars before I got Dzire . Cars TDed - Fgio, Manza, Ritz, also went for Hyndai showroom for I20, was difficult to get in I20 was truned off by that. I thought of buying Linea , Fiesta. I feel Fiat Linea is not good car to own feels lack of performace. Fiesta - IMHO the owners of this car suffer from lack of self esteem and not not VFM. Had Vento on my radar but may be next time.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Each time when I drive Dzire, I am too involved with it, its small powerhorse, zooms in no time. Got fantastic fuel economy 20 kmpl on first fuel fill, it has odmeter reading just 1300 kms so it brand new. I had owened Totoya Carmy, Zen previouly, these are very gentle cars so have the habit of not putting more gas to pick speed, but in Dzire with same effort the car just zooms, thats the real fun. Got the fuel ecomony of 20 kmpl of first full tank, which I think is good. Gearbox is notchy, but very tricky on second gear and the reverse.
Ride Quality & Handling Feels great for the price I paid. Each driving experience is fulfilling.
Final Words You want fun, Dzire is the option for you, especially the Deisel.
Areas of improvement May be DTE, gear change and currect gear indicator. But hey who care for his when you are on the Pune road, your all attention is to dodge the potholes.

Exterior The exterior is so nice the colour of my dzire is silver . The lights,the bumper every thing is matching and so nice.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior of swift dzire is same as swift, but in swift dzire there are some extra features compared to swift vdi. 1st is in swift there is only a clock at the center point, but swift dzire have clock and temperature sensor, not a very big feature. the boot space in swift dzire is outstanding. i have fitted a pioneer subwoofer in boot and with the subwoofer there is a space of 3 to 4 big suitcases etc. The aircon is working so nice. the central locking and power windows are working so nice, this is my second hand car, but you can buy a new car and other side my car. You cannot any difference in performance
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is wonderful.No need to down a gear to pickup. the fuel economy of my car is between 17 to 27. i have kept the car at 185 kmph and after then my car was going not down 140 but the fuel economy was given 21 kmpl. if you drive the car at 80 to 100 kmph at highway. the car would give you maximum mileage of 26.50 kmpl. outstanding.
Ride Quality & Handling So good handling and ride is outstanding. yoju can suppos that car would run as a running of water in 155 kmph.
Final Words I finally suggest that you should buy the car. my car is secong owner and i was bought on 8 january 2015. and then the odo reading was genuine 90,000 kms. and now the car reading is 1,16,200 kms. You can suppose in which situation the car run but the car runs smoothly perfectly and no problems in engine . the car is runned at good condition . but two problems occured when i bought the car. Not so big issue a central locking fuse blown and the gear shifter rod opened one day due to the car is thrown by our relations in a very big speed breaker. So saying in last words the car is absolutely outstanding .the car engine life is long due to scheduled service. So recommend to viewers that the car would run smoothly after a longer time if you drive right change the oil filter , engine oil at 10,000 kms and clean the air filter or replace if necessary.
