Exterior is great looks like a monster, bady paint is great, mettalic white should have been super white. The rear needs to be made more sleeker.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Spacious, high seating makes riding comfortable unlike other sedans which tend to lay back
the rear seats are wide thereby making the leg space little. The interiors & the system are good but they could have given a better system with pen drive option. the ac is powerful but not as that of Hyundai. good space overall.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Powerful engine for the range, Economy is good have clocked 19 average for both city driving & long drives. Gearbox is little rough needs to be smoothened. The transitions are not that smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
Good ride, but there is a discomfort ergonomically, as the right hand tends to lack support, there is a strain on the hand. The vehicle is heavy & stable on road. Huge acceleration & the vehicle moves without acceleration which would unnecessary give more work to the brakes.
Final Words
Great, impressed maruthi has a super hit. Hope it can cope the demand as the booking time is too high
Areas of improvement
Ergonomic factors for better driving. The head lights need to be worked on, as the lights are not that powerful. Its dificult to drive in night as the vision is not that distant due to the lights.

Exterior Classic look entry level Sadan, Good Rich looking car, It is my second car after Alto, hence I feel really upgraded,
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is OK but Maruti could have provided Light in the Glove box, Glove box is small with compare to Other cars, driver seat Height adjustment is not available so has to use pillow, factory fitted music system is not so good, to y mind in absence of bluetooth technology music system is just ok.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance of engine is far too much than expected for VDI version, Minimum sound, smooth gear shifting possible, hence in city trafic feel comfartable, with traffic signals & AC on, I got 16.68 KMPL in Pune city till date, milage is also excellent so far.
Ride Quality & Handling At the high speed i found that car has got better controls with breaks, but i dont have ABS system on my car, keeping that in mind i am satisfactory with it, Ride quality is excellent, as I said it is comfortable for city drive hence it is automatically qualifies for highway drive, it reaches to top speed within very few seconds, less than a minute, but the tyres i got is not designed for more than 160kmph hence i have to be in controlled drive mode, the designed capacity of the Engine to run this car is more that 180kmph, but company has not provided tyres & ABS system for the same, so beware about yours tyres & version, tyres & ABS available only with ZXI, but I insist on tyres just because lot of people & even Company like Maruti Udyog Ltd dont look into this important aspect of the car,
Final Words Maruti dezire team seems to me designed a car of max speed of 200KMPH, and i know it has potential to achieve that speed with all persons on board, but Company has done a mistake by not selecting proper tyre for this car (VDI & LDI versions), Beware that the tyres for this version cars is of the range of 160kmph capacity.
However this is for everybody's information, please check you tyres & recommanded max speed by tyre manufacturer before going at high speed.
Areas of improvement As said above, Company should have shown there intelligency by selecting proper tyres for this car, i am sure they have selected tyres to reduce the overall cost of the car, not on the technical ground! if you look at ZDI tyres it si diffrant than VDI, however speed & Load of both cars are the so if you go highspeed & your tyres burst are you in fault? is big no! it is to blame Maruti for that, since they have not educated any of its customer about the tyres they have provided & limits of it.
At-least they had not informed me nigther it is available on there Dzire's site, they should educate the people on the same, so that people who are not aware of this fact will get notice of iot & get cautioned.

Exterior Actually maruthy have really win in the strategey of brand extenssion of Swift that have really hit in the mind of india car lovers. it have little bit of better look than Hatch back swift. especially in its grill. but overall body waight and stability and stengh of the body is not up to the mark of standard. it is very weeker in stength so there is a greater chance for higher maintance cost when any accedent happen. its froont pumper and other body parts are purely made with weaker fibre material and it clipped to its body so there is a chance for eazy damage.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) When we conseder the interior of SWIFT, it have a little bit of better look than other model of maruty cars. but we canot compare its interior with other same segment cars, if we do that swift may be the last one inthat list, because its interror almost have weaker plastic look, not even in sternght. it just clipped with each other. The dash board and AC windows are ordinary look. the only better part in in side is its gear leaver with leather cover. And consedering the space it feel little smaller than hatback model so its back seat possoion is not a comfortable one. it is not much a roomy car. its boot space is very conjested compare with other models in the segment. but its decky space is very big so we carry a lot much of our laguages.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox If I ignoring to say any thing about Dezires engine performance it will be the greart falt, its performans is really " AWESOME " nothing to say about it. its power in 3rd gear is really good. Maruthy rurned its engine that really suit to ride in indian cities. its mileage is also great defenitly you can expect more than 17.5. Perormance is the Key winning factor of Swift dezire. like its name really it is a dezirable car to each people.
Ride Quality & Handling THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS GOOD BUT THE RIDING QUALITY OF THIS CAR IS NOT MUCH GOOD, WHEN YOU GO FOR A LONG RIDE WITH A DEZIRE YOU WILL FEEL DISCOMFORT VERY QUICKLY. AND IT IS NOT EAZY TO HANDLE IN CITIES, BEACUSE OF ITS BOBY SIZE SOME PARTS ARE LITTLE BIT BULGED OUT FROM THE BODY, ESPECIALLY THE REAR PUMPER SIDE AND MUD GUARD AREAS. I NEVER FELT THAT IT IS HADY CAR IN MORE CONJESTED ROADS.
Final Words ALL OVER SWIFT DEZIRE IS A GREAT ENTRY LEVEL SEDAN AVAILABLE IN INDIA, IT IS VERY ECNOMICAL AND POWERFULL IN TITS PERFORMANCE.

Exterior A good sporty look with excellent design. The most beautiful external feature is its lesser length in comparison with other sedan cars. However, lesser visibility of left side from driver seat causes some problems in city driving.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable overall but less legroom for rear seat is only minus point for this car. However, integrated audio player shoud be improved to accomodate DVD as well as USB Pendrive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The main advantage is its engine performance, smooth gear transition and obviously great fuel economy. Never the less the fuel economy drops very little even if air conditioner is on.
Ride Quality & Handling Probably it is having second best road grip in indian cars after te swift. Also its excellent suspension gives unique riding experience even in slight bumpy roads.
Final Words A great gar in comparison with its price. Finally the excellent service offered by maruti suzuki is also an added advantage for the car.
Areas of improvement Increase in rear legroom must be done. More over if left side visibility is improved it will be more easy to drive.

Exterior Exterior is gud.actually i got used to it. It luks sexy in grey n white.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)-features r very gud in zdi variant. actually mine is vdi bt i m satisfied wid d features.car is very comfortable in front but in rear i fing sumwat congusted wen 3 big ppl gt seated.it is best for two ppl in d back. The boot is very very spacious.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good. I had raced many big cars wid my dzire.car is stable even at 150-160kmph..my car had done 36000kms it is feb 2010 model.the torque is best part of this car.but my tyre is having many punctures. The company recomends to change the stocky tyres at 40k.but my cousin has a zdi variant and his tyres are lasting till 60k. may be becaz of big tyres nd alloys, fe is also gud gives 13-14 in city and 18-20 on highways. Gearbox is sleek and gear shifting is short n gud.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is bad on bad roads it cant handle much bad roads. Handling is gud but is very scary at high speeds. Boot tilt is felt in curves.
Final Words A very gud value for money car.

I am writing this review pretty late but then its better late than never. Right now the 2009 dzire has done around 63k kms and is still performing well. While purchasing this one we were thinking of the dzire and the xylo, xylo because its a big vehicle and can be real handy when we have relatives at our place. We were looking only for a diesel because the monthly run was over 2500 kms. Looking at all the different areas of interest we finally settled for the dzire
Exterior Never liked the looks when the Dzsire was launched but over time I was fine with the way it looked. Still feel Maruti could have done better with the rear of this car. From the front you really cant make out if its the swift or the dzire unless you know that the front grill of the dzire has chrome strips. This too could be remodelled.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are pretty good. The integrated music system gels well with the dash. Steering mounted controls only add to the convenience. The overall quality of plastics is pretty decent. Air conditioning is good enough though it takes a little time for it to cool the entire cabin. In terms of space the rear rows are not very comfortable to accommodate 5 adults. Its good for 4 adults or 2 adults and 2-3 kids/teenagers. If you have people with around 5'10'' + height then it is uncomfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine and performance is what floored me. The turbo kicks in a bit late but is sufficient enough to drive you around the city without any problems. Being a 1.3litre engine it returns a decent FE of around 20kmpl highway and city combined. Gearbox is very good with precise shifts.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is decent, good enough what you can get for this price. Handling is pretty good in city and highways alike. At high sppeds its planted to the roads and you feel the confidence to drive. Steering response is pretty good as well.
Final Words On the whole a very good machine, drives well, handles well, performs well and is priced well too.
Areas of improvement Space in the rear, design in the front and the back. Just these minor changes and we are good to go.
Review update in Oct 2013 - The car has completed over 1.12 lac+ kms. The engine is a gem and still feels as new as the day it was brought. No mechanical problem what so ever with the engine or the turbo and they are strong as ever. The clutch however has become a bit hard. Steering also needa more effort to maneuver. Rattles are there in all doors. However that could be because of the hardship the car has been through. Apart from that the car is excellent and a pleasue to drive even today

Exterior The Swift Dzire 1st Gen is a good looker when new but the shape is prone to ageing. Shape most definitely not sleek and odd looking like the previous Honda City. But the Dzire is not an eyesore. Dont go for Black and golden colors as nicks and scratches and dents show. But for Rs 4.8 lacs its a real humdinger. Keep it clean and dent free it will look handsome.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) For Rs 4.8 lacs onroad the Dzire LXi is a well equipped , spacious and a very comfortable car.Soft ride, soaks up bumps and thumps and ruts with disdain. Cushy ride. AC effective in rear seat on hot Delhi days. Good legroom in rear even with someone like me who drives with the seat pushed back and srma stretched. Downside: No access to trunk from cabin, no 60/40 split rear seats unlike Esteem. Very disappointing. Trunk room adequate, Good space for 2 large suitcases. Good storage space for nick nacks in the front cabin. Controls within easy reach. Interior plastic cheap and tacky. But the AC and light stalks are meaty and robust.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth engine, reasonable pick up. Good high speed stabilty. However the engine is a wee bit underpowered for a sedan and dont expect Swift hatchback like performance. 1.2 lit engine unsuitable. 1.6 engine perfect. Pick uo suffers with AC on. Limited passing power. Oversteer an issue. Dont get adventurous with this sedan on highways. On summer days with AC on passingpower suffers. Not a V6 with ample power on tap at high speeds.
Ride Quality & Handling Soft ride, peppy pick up. light steering, easy to maneuvre on indian roads. High speed stabilty decent. Gear shift like Swift, slick and sure . Pedals spaced right.
Final Words Tje Dzire is a superb value for money sedan. At Rs 5 lacs its a great buy. Cant speak for higher trims. If you are in the 6 to 8 bracket look elsewhere. Honda City, SX4, Nissan Sunny, Hyundai Verna etc etc. The Dzire is easy to maintain, has a thrifty engine good AC and is a perfect entry level sedan for India. DONTS: Dont push the engine hard or economy suffers, limited passing power so dont try reckless overtaking on highways. For its price the Dzire is a real humdindinger. WELL DONE MARUTI SUZUKI.

I have purchased my car in May 2011, as per extensive travelling schedule I hv done approx 80 k with out any major set back. Best car in this band with good resale value.
I have traveled with it both on highways, City and rough terrain.
Exterior Nice, global touch and its totally depend on person to person, in my words its make presence felt.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All requer.ied featuress are available, space in front seats are good but in rear good for 2 only.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The big sale of swift and swift dezire is due its engine, performance, looks and easy drive only, in other words its has make its very big mark in indian automobile arena.
