      Exterior Personal choice. I like the rear the most. I am not a fan of good looking cars & can fully ignore the looks if car is otherwise good. After all once inside the car you do not have to look at it rather concentrate on the road & traffic.😎 I like cleaner lines of Vento more than too futuristic looking Verna. But for most purposes, the car will not disappoint in looks deptt.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Many times we think, the features are useless till the time we actually use it. I now can not live without features like rear view camera, rear sensors, blue tooth, electrically folding side mirrors in particular. Other cool features are ACC, stereo control over steering, rear & front defogger, cool glove box etc. The driver arm rest seems to me as a useless feature as I am not able to use it on long drives. The positioning is such that my left arm never reaches there. I am a normal built person 5'9" ht, wt-75 kg. Would like to know opinin of others. Space at rear & front are ample, but at rear you tend to feel that you are sitting a liittle lower than ideal. The middle of the rear seat is buldged upward to an extent to make the middle passanger uncomfortable on long drives. It has been designed so to form a firm base for the rear hand rest, a feature very seldome used in my car. I would have liked a flat rear bench more than the present design. Comfort levels are high, except bouncy rear ride on uneven roads due to too soft suspension, my only major gripe.  

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very powerful. You never feel for more power under any circumstances, be it fully loaded, uphill drive, high speed driving, overtaking etc. all with AC on. At 100 kmph on 6th gear, the car comfortably drives at 1800 rpm ie within the turbo band. Press the accelarator, the car reaches 120 kmph in no time, 140 kmph smoothly & the easyness continues all the way to 150-155 kmph, after which the engine boil slows down & then the car takes time to garner further pace. I have done a peak speedo of 170 kmph. The turbo gently kicks in at around 1500 rpm, thus the drivability is good in side city. You do not feel the turbo lag as much. All in all if surface is smooth, one can drive all day at 140-150 kmph all day without any fuss if FE is not a concern. Gear box is super smooth & very easy to operate, slots precisely & travel is short.

      Fuel economy: Very much dependant on driving style which is true for most cars. All my FE figures are with 100% AC as I never drive with windows open.

      City: Goes 1-1.5 km- stop- av. speed 15 kmph- usage 7-8 km/day, thrice a week- 12.5 km/lit

      Highway: @ 100-120 kmph, full load-17.5 kmph

      Highway: @ 80-90 kmph, alone in the car- 22 km/lit.

      Feel that longish city drive will return a FE of 14-15 km/lit.

      Ride Quality & Handling Contrary to the general view, I find absolutely no problem with handling of the car even at 150 kmph on highways, on hill driving etc. Till date could not understand where is the problem.May be too good a driver😊 I am driving cars for last 14 years, driven cars like Old Zen, 800, City, Santro, Wagon-R, Figo, Scorpio, i-20, i-10, Aveo, Jazz, Micra, Fabia, Etios etc etc. Fail to understand the saying " the steering does not feel connected, no feed back" by most experts on steering of Verna. I do feel the steering is responsive, obey your order, light & easy both in city & highways.The car feels under control at 140-150 kmph.

      Ride-The real problem lies here.The car feel very much bouncy on uneven roads particularly when fully loaded at speed in excess of 80 kmph or so. Culprit is the soft rear suspension. Hyundai has to bring a solution to this problem for new as well as old customers.  

      Final Words I have purchsed the car for enjoying the diesel power & torque and not for any economic consideration. Before purchase of this car my annual car usage had been approx 8 k per year which does not justify purchase of a diesel car. I was also not inclined for a sedan & would have been quite happy with a spacious hatch with similar power & refinement. But no hatch was even close, therefore had to go for this car. No regrets. 

      Have fixed rear speakers on rear tray- which is not of much use & would advise others not to do so. Have also installed a bass tube of cheap DAPIC make, fairly happy with it. Total cost- Bass tube-9k, rear speakers- 4k. I am now OK with the sound quality & do not feel for any further upgradation.

      Areas of improvement Suspension set up, improve GC & quality of music system I have scrapped the under belly many times with load. When alone it is not a problem. But have to drive carefully keeping the lower GC in mind.

      Dear friends these are my inputs after clocking 10,000 kms and getting the second service done for my New Hyundai Verna Transform CRDI...

      Exterior The exterior of the car are good.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Air Conditioner of the car is just WOW!!!!... no other word,  Seating is very comfortable as i drove a very long distance of around 550kms and when i got out of the car i was not at all tired.

      Verna was has always behind in features. for a car where you pay 8-9 lakhs for the on road price..one expects latest music system/ABS/airbags...but these features are not available in the basic version of the transform which Ex-showroom costed me 8.0 L in Gurgaon. Tata Manza/Swift Dzire have audio controls on the steering wheel and the music system with USB and other features. Not sure what they have done in latest Verna. but these features were not available.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance and the fuel economy of the car where i say hyundai will outbeat the others inn the same class. Start the diesel engine and come and stand out near to the engine adn you wil not hear the sound as compared to Volkswagen Vento(No hard feelings for anyone). Now sit inside the car and then try and hear the engine noise. Very less noise inside the car cabin. Which is the part i like most, and put the pedal on the accelerator and the beast inside says take me to the road. When you are on the road there is no car that have a better pickup the verna (in diesel). 4th gair will come at the speed of 50km/h and the 5th will come after the speed of 65 km/h. at the sped of 70 when on road no once sitting inside or outside can make a differnce in the petrol or diesel.

      No comes the question. KITNA DETI HAI...????? and I would say the city driving is between 16 and 17 km/l(on AC) and on highway i clocked 20.5 km/l(75% on AC) givent e condition that i drove not above 90 km/h and the gear shift is smooth and nto taking too high pickups i.e going at the normal speed. and gear shift is smooth.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quallity is excellent comfortable and moreover i migrated from Maruti Wagon R to hyundai verna and the difference was too much.

       

      Final Words This is just an awesome car in this segment, and for upper middle class who move to this segment this car is more suitable because the spares are available in the market easily,which is not the case with vento.

      Exterior Absoultely stunning exterior looks , the coupe design is amazing . But exteriors depend a lot on the induvidual taste and everyone would have seen it on the roads by now , so I am not commenting much on that.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are just extrordinary for this class , auto dimming mirror is a boon at nights , rear view camera is brillianly located , the cooled glove box could have a little more cooling !! , the power folding mirrors add a stlye statement, the space is very good for its class but due to the lack of under tigh support at the rear it requires extra legroom to streatch out and sit for long journneys. Comfort seems amazing , the seats enclose the body so well , the Automatic AC is also extremely chilling , reaches a temperature of 15 deg.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is the area where the verna realy scores !! the engines fires forward before even my leg is off the clutch pedal !! even before i press the accelerator the car is waiting to run !! it has power in abundance !! . The Gearbox is just perfect in precision. Fuel Economy I have not realy tested yet !! so no comments. The gear shift indicator is also perfect.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality and handling , the steering is extremely light but misses out on feedback. This is brilliant to drive inside the city and during parkings but could be a problem on the highway . The same holda good even for the suspensions which are extremely soft and brilliant at absorbing pits in the city but that may push down the confidence at high speeds.

      Final Words Finally the car is awesome and I am Loving it !!!!!

      Areas of improvement Hyundai must better its delarship experience , it was not great at DSC hyundai chennai faced a lot of problems !! , next the waiting period needs to be reduced . The car as such might need an improvement with the steering and the rear camera could show the distance also along with the sound.

      Exterior Is ok, but not value for money.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Intirior is good but not comfortable, we cant view outside or back side pic clear, while sitting on back seat.

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engibne perfomance is ok fuel economy is 13km per letre, which is very low.

      Ride Quality & Handling Pickup is good , but after 100 speed car vibrates on highway due to less weight, maximum fiber has been used in car to reduce the weight for pickup and average of the car. But average is too low its 13km PL. worst in handling.

      Final Words Pls pls don't go on look and style of the car and dont belive on hyndai, i have verna fluidic, using since last 6 month, I had very bad experience of verna fluidic car, worst ground clearance worst suspension, I am scared to drive the car on highway...suspension is just like commercial vehicles.

      I was to buy a car with a budget of 7 lacs and last 1 week , I had been going around dearlship , taking test drive , seeing features ...and this is all I have to say

      SX4 - in 7 lacs u get the VXi version - the interiors are pathetic, basically nothing on offer to excite in the segment - The boot is too high - it is blinding when u reverse - U may notice dents on the rear on many SX4 - Turning radius is a big negative.

      The above ruled out the SX4 for me

      Ford Fiesta - 1.4 ZXI - Good exterior looks but again the interiors are very cheap looking and pathetic , pick up and power is an issue at 1.4 litre engine - the drive is smooth - overall average.

      AVEO - 1.6 LT - Just good looks and not matched by the drive - the interirors though look good are of cheap quality - number of service station is a issue - they sell all tother around 700 cars per month all india as compared to 2000 by other manufactures - resales price is a big hit below the belt.

      Finally Hyundai Xi - you fall in love with the car at sight - simply majestic - the intriors are good gives a rich look with wooden finish - electronic rear view mirrior adjustment - Seat hieght adjustment - Steering height adjust. - Supereb drive quality - excellent value for money.

      i recommend all to check out the Verma Xi before you decide to by your car

      I am using Verna SX VTVT for last 2 mnths. Before purchase I compared Maruti SX4, Honda City. I find Verna SX VTVT is very near to Honda city. Technologically both are same. High price difference without any value addition has rejected Honda city. Maruti SX4 can't be compared with Verna. My verna looks very cool, but when you touch the expressway, it shows its class. Nobody can beat him. Its intelligent air conditioning, inbuilt sound system, interior decoration is best in its range. I expect safety air bags to be included in near future alongwith parking indicator without any price escalation. I am satisfied with fuel economy of 13+ (half city drive + half highway) for 1600 cc engine.
      Good fuel economy in 1600 cc range, 13 km/litre. Air conditioning is excellent.seats are not very comfortable for long drive. It is Hard.

                    This is my first review on this website, and hope you would welcome what I am going to expose about my Hyundai Verna.

       

                  Before purchasing the Hyundai Verna I have read so many reviews about the car Pros and Cons and also talked to several Verna owners to get the positive information about the diesel SX car.

       

       Before purchasing the Hyundai Verna I made a test drive of the car about 20 Km in derrick Agency at Nagercoil dealer. After driving the Vehicle I really felt happy about it performance, also I confused to think whether it is diesel or petrol car, very smooth without noiseless inside the cabin while driving the car, since the road test car is three years old vehicle.

         

         After that I have booked the car with an advance payment of 50000 Rs and within 10 days I have got the vehicle with all the formalities completed from the dealer. Actual on road price of the car is 948550 Rs. The Dealer has given floor mats, body cover, air freshener and sun cool stickers fixed at a free of cost. The only Expense I did apart from those are the Teflon coated paint for under chase and body Teflon coated paint with a charge of 3200 Rs. I have Purchased Verna CRDI SX VGT BS 4 Rating (Non Pollution Vehicle) Car on 28th April 2010 and also gone few thousands of Kms. around south. The diesel engine in Verna is a very good engine which has turbochargers which improves high acceleration with low fuel consumption. The engine provides more torque and has a very amazing pick-up when compared to the other sedan segment in this range. I am getting a mileage of 11 to 12 Km in the city and also in the high ways about 13 to 14 km. Since it is a new vehicle I did not make any doubt with the dealer. Gear shifts are smooth and ABS control for breaks and really very good at road curves and turnings in high speed control.

       

      Very spacious and comfortable at the rear seats.

       

      CRDI SX has an Automatic control AC, even though if I keep the temperature at 20’C the cabin gets cooled within 5 minutes. So my family is really happy with its performance for buying this top variant model.

       

      The only problem is its head and fog lights which are inadequate for driving through highways which are not well to fit. I have replaced the existing head lights and installed Philips 110/100 Watts and changed horn also within the dealer itself.  If Hyundai solves this problem this will be the car to buy in its segment.

       

      I suggest that those who love driving should consider this car at top of their list. Hyundai Verna is true value for money and one of the best cars available in its segment.  A must buy car being a complete package of style, comfort and performance. A dream machine for sedan lovers.

       

      Accidents are not predictable but most accidents are preventable; always think SAFETY first.

       

       

      Good Interiors with sporty look.No Airbags, 15" Alloys will improve the ground clearence Higher.

      Ive been owning the verna crdi for almost a year now.These are points that i would like to mention.

      1) I was told that i would get a mileage of 15km in bangalore when i purchased the car.The truth is at best that is if i drive carefully the best that i have got  is 11km.Maybe in other cities where the traffic is not as bad as in bangalore its possible to get a mileage of 15. In the highways its a different story.Iam consistanly getting a mileage of 17-18km.But i have to mention that i do not push the car above 110Kmph.

      2) Always use premium desiel and never fill from unknown shady bunks in the highways.Preferably from shell or reliance.The CRDI is very sensitive to adulterated desiel..

      3) The headlights are poor in the verna car and iam thinking of changing them.

      4) Well about the power and pick up.....you just have to drive it to feel it.Its truly amazing.

      Well overall iam happy and satisfied and have no regrets for choosing this car and would also recommend others to buy it.

      I have been driving Verna[CRDi VGT 1.5] for almost 2 long years now and it has crossed 75000kms and i can surely say it is the best in class as i have driven Fiesta[D] and City.
      As i initially felt that my bro made a mistake by buying this car as it did not look good anyway but it totally swept me off my feet when i drove it. I will tell you how it felt when i drove the car for the very first time.
      I started the engine and shifted to 1st gear, it was ok.
      Then switched to 2nd gear, i thought it was not so good.
      Then to the 3rd gear and BANG, it was amazing. That s my baby.
      Thats the very first time i felt something different. I have driven almost all the midsize cars but this one is pretty different. You can easily hit 180 in highways. It s that easier in Verna and in terms of fuel efficiency i would not say it is good but it certainly not so bad even after 70k kms.

      Drawback is as i said it s styling and it doesnt have airbags too.
      If you are looking for a car which has good interiors, best performance, best pickup and moderate mileage in its class, i surely recommend Verna the Best.
      If you look into Airbags, Milege and a moderate Pickup, please go for Fiesta.

      Final Words Only problem is rear visibility.

      Areas of improvement Rear Visibility and material for silencer. Within 25 days i got the delivery of my vehicle after getting in touch with right authority . Looks are too good and definetly eye turner .  Problem areas are the rear visibility and material of the silencer not up to the mark. Beware of the dealers they are on 7th sky due to huge demand. Since its in huge demand no corporate bonus , forced to take insurance from them, no exhange bonus . I have seen other version owners commenting on other models here.. it wont have any significance. Also check properly before you take the delivery specially on the front lower part. Best advice to ppl planning to buy verna see it , drive it and u will buy it for sure :)
