Exterior This has the feel of a real luxury hatch. I am a proud owner a top end Diesel and can say that it surely is eye catchy and leaves people awestruck. The body is sturdy and has lines and curves at the right places.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This is a feature laden car. Regular features like Auto AC, Mounted Controls, big central display are a treat. What stands out is the dual tone interiors and the Chrome finish. The steering is sensitive and responds well. Seats are comfortable and there is enough legroom and thigh support on the rear seats. The AC is effective and cools the cabin extremely fast. Clean air filters helps in clearing out odour or smell from the cabin.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is smooth, however, challenge is shuttling between 1st and 2nd, specially in Bangalore. Yet to measure the FE, however, will be happy with 17-18kmpl. Gearbox is smooth and responds well.
Ride Quality & Handling Good shockers and smooth ride. You dont really feel the bumps and the potholes if you slow down, but will feel a jerk if yuo try to rush past these. ( they are aplenty in bangalore).
Final Words Reallly happy with the purchase. Would have been 10/10 if Hyundai had added DTE, Fuel Efficiency details, Daylight Running lamps and possibly an optional Sun/Moon roof and leather seats.
Areas of improvement Offer Sun/Moon roof, Leather seats & projector lamps as options.

Exterior Awesome looks, the front grill and back tail lamps.. the fluidic design is simply awesome. Especially the Red color.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good Leg space in front and back, a decent boot space, the interiors are very good not made of cheap plastic. Though the display is very small, looks nice. It comes with Kenwood speakers without subwoofers. Steering mounted audio controls looks pretty fine.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Since body is little heavy 1.2 liter engine seems little less to power this car, gear box is very smooth compared to its rivals. Fuel economy wise it will come around 11-13kmpl (because of heavy body). I have driven around 800kms.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, even in heavy rain the ABS works perfectly fine, and body is very steady.
Final Words Awesome car for that price range. A luxury Hatch back no doubt in it. Only sad part is waiting period little more.
Areas of improvement Engine can be more powered to 1.4 engine.

I have taken this car 2 weeks ago and I feel I have made a right choice after a long wait. I feel that at last hyundai has managed to give indian market a car similar to BMW Q2 with a sligntly more but affordable price. With in 10 days i have driven more than 300km and i found my mileage around 12 which is not bad in city that too before first service. The automatic head lamps are welcome feature as this helps in lot many places.
Exterior That hexagonal grill with honeycomb mesh is seriously eyes grabbing style what hyudai is given in its new fluidic 2.0 design. The most good looking part is the tail lamp that they have provided, with wrap around lamp. It would have been great if this is provided with LED lamping. The only part that I would say a not soo good is the camera above the boot open. Providing 16' alloy is very helpful as this gives more gorund clearance while driving over rough roads.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Hyundai always are not complainable in terms of interiors. They always provide the best interiors quality and comfort. Once you are in the car you feel that you have entered some big car like BMW or Jagwar. The AC is great as they have provided 1.2t as from preior i20 having 1t AC. Cools rapidly. The audio is very very good with 8 speakers in and you feel every bit in it. I have tried with 3 six footers in rare and the have not complained about leg space. Fit and finish is great any you cannot find any soft plastick in the car. Arm rest is the once i Liked most.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox With petrol on the hand with 1.2l engine the car' body feel heavy to it, but that does'nt means that engine gets exhausted with the weight of the car' body. I have taken a punch till 120km/hr. There is a refined gear box that will help you to shift gears smoothly. More over on a bumper to bumper trafic also you never need to shift gears constantly from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. At the 3rd geat you can move till 50km/hr which satisfies your in city speeds and can improve mileage part. The only thing i see is the breaks as ther are bit soft and not punchy when you apply this.
Ride Quality & Handling The ride and handelling is not complaining but this is where hyundai has to improve. There is a body roll when we take on tight corners. But this has imporved from old out going car. The srearing is soft and builds up weight in high speeds but you will never feel that you have lot control.
Final Words Overall there are some areas to improve. But this is car is worth for money value.

The verdict,
A good-looking, spacious car that gives you a big-car feel for small-car money.
The new i20 has a bigger wheelbase, is marginally wider, but has actually lost a few millimetres in length. Cabin space is generous in terms of legroom. The seats are reasonably big, and give enough overall support. At the rear, three people can sit without feeling hemmed-in. The angle to which the seat back can be reclined is sufficient, and there is good under-thigh support, although the bench could've offered more under-thigh cushioning. Rear air-con vents also make their debut in the Elite i20.
It's a well-laid out cabin, the Elite's, with a host of features like a dashboard-integrated music system, climate control, and USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The steering is big but easy to grip, and the twin-dial instrument cluster is neat. Quality of plastics, fabric and trim is high, as are the levels of fit and finish, all of which are enough to give you the upmarket feel you need from a premium hatchback.

After going through the reviews, I thought to write one on my experience with Hyundai i20 elite.
I was on the search of an upgrade from my maruthi 800 (5 speed) for about 6 months. I was watching the reviews of various cars and finally shortlisted i20 elite & amaze. But decided to buy i20 elite sportz petrol mainly viewing the online reviews and the features it offers. Almost all reviews given excellent rating or elite and the features it offered for the price was also good. When I decided to buy it in June, Hyundai had increased its price twice by about Rs.26,000 and handling charges from Rs.8900 to Rs.12000 (ex show room price for sportz petrol was about Rs.6.53 lakhs, on road including B to B insurance is Rs.7.45 lakhs at Thiruvananthapruam). Sales team of the dealer was also upbeat about elite. In fact they were even saying that they were not interested to canvass elite as there is no incentive for selling elite compared to other models. According to them this car will sell without promo. I booked sportz, petrol, redpassion. Though the waiting period is 2 months, they offered delivery within 20 days and insisted to pay full price upfront for forwarding the booking to the Company. According to them unless full /substantial payment is made they will not be able to forward the order to the company. Hence I have to ask the bank to release the full loan amount. When I went to enquire about the delivery after the agreed twenty days, though they apologize about the delay but to my surprise they offered that I can cancel the order if I wish (this was before the Jazz’s introduction). Such was the response on the sale of I20. Though the responses upset me a bit, I was consoling myself that I had ordered a great product and waited for it.
Took the car on 6th July. At the outset I liked the vehicle. However, later when I inspected the car, came to know that the that the leather warped steering wheel , leather gear know and boot lamp was absent (which was offered as standard for sportz version in the brochures) In fact I am not sure what other features they had withdrawn. When I contacted Hyundai got a standard reply, they had withdrawn these from the sportz version from 1-4-2015. Thus after about an increase in price of about Rs.26,000 and handling charges by Rs.3500, they had withdrawn many features from the sportz version. This was another instance which I felt the company was unfair to me.
After a week had a trip to Tiruchendur about 190 km one way. It was a good drive except I was really upset by the pickup. Frankly, the car struggled in 4th and top gear after slight braking. The power of third gear is much poor than my old maruthi 800 !! Frequent gear shifts necessary even in long drives on highways. On mileage it clocked slightly over 13km/litre on the trip. On the whole, I had to say that my upbeat is over now, it did not match the expectations.

Brakes become too hard at gear no #2/3 in the speed range of 10-20 Km/h. It becomes impossible to apply brake at those situations and ultimately You will end up hitting the next person/vehicle.
This is a serious issue asoociated with this model. I approached the HYUNDAI service centre also complaining about this problem but they refused to accept the failure of the model . Rather, they suggested me to go for a general checkup of the vehicle I20 ASTA 1.2 and after the checkup , they told that everything is OK in the vehicle but the problem is still persistent in my vehicle.
I would request all the users of I20 elite who are facing this issue , to send a mail or call Hyundai customer care to let them aware about the problems so that they would be able to recall the vehicle and rectify this.
According to the terms and conditions of the Auto companies, if a customer doesn't report about the problems associated, they would not recall the vehicle.

Final Words: Good car, Good comfort,but risky braking system.
Areas of improvement : Brake system should be improved, Always there is apprehension of accident during low speed as the brake padals become hard and cannot press it unless and untill clutch pedal is pressed. I feel the problem arised during low rpm of vehicle at low speed. The breaking padal is somewhat useually hard as compeared to other cars. The brakes are less effective and has to apply much pressure to apply during emergency. Inspected at service center but of no use that such problem of braking is with all hyndai cars having EBS breaking system. Why the company is not taking care of such reviews, they must come forward to solve such problem or advice certain recommendations for the same problem.

Car is high maintenance and not everybody would be able to manange it well. I often had to go to workshop for breaks and mileage related issues.

Considering the price I have paid and expectations I had, I wouldnt suggest this car to city folks who like to roll a lot. I have not had good customer service experience and probably thats true for many hyundai car owners. Hyundai will learn it sooner or later that without better post sales service they cant continue to fool customers.

Company should commit what car actually has rather than boasting. After sales service is major cause of concern with hyundai. I agree that hyundai cars are good looking but that doesnt cover up for performance. Major area of improvement is reliability and performance.

superb fliudic design specially tail lamps are quite impressive. i shall defenitely can say that heads will turn to see this car.colours like red, star dust, gives sporty looks.

specially i want to say about noise, vibration, harshness are really outstanding you never know that engine is on it is quite impressive.clutch is light to use car will go up to 10-15 kmph with clutch moment . pick up is good but the gear ratios are small but once you entered in high ways it is good it will easily reaches thriple digit speed. braking is really responsive fine for highway cruising. finally gear box is smooth gears are easily applicable with two finger grip.

Dynamics are very good car is stationary at deadly curves,steering becomes responsive with respect to speed

This is my first car and first attempt at a review and is based on the 850+km of city driving. I shall leave out all the knowns and speak only about my observations that I have not seen elsewhere and would be glad at least one CARWALE reviewer finds my review a game changer. Please don't look into the review as a negative feedback for I'm a happy owner of the Elite i20 - its just that would like to cover only the not so frequent observations. Hope you enjoy my writeup.
Exterior
Absolutely no complaints - this is one of the best looking cars in the market today IMHO.
(i) Wiping the tail lamp with a wet cloth renders the water to enter the tail lamp housing and can be drained only by opening the hatch. I wonder how Hyundai committed such a grave blunder.
(ii) The very big antenna is really pissing off when you want to move the vehicle into a space with a low roofing or even as simple as covering the vehicle with the body cover. For the premium, I wonder why at least the top end variant does not sport the shark fin antennas.
(iii) The gap between the glass and the metal at the hatch and the insides of rear doors can really get dirty and get stuffed with dirt. A neat rubber cladding would have done a great deal I suppose.

(i) The very first thing I wanted to write here was, my Elite i20 Asta VTVT has only one power outlet. I noticed this only during delivery (third week of May 2015) and when enquired, after a long discussion the dealer advised me that the 2015 models are equipped only with one power outlet instead of the original two. While I got this validated the genuiness of this statement through one of my friends who used to work for HMIL, I would appreciate if fellow carwale readers can confirm on this.
(ii) Absolutely no compaints - just gives everything that I expected from spacious cabin to accommodate plus sized adults & elderly, to auto climate control, but for the following:
- Sorely misses the speed sensing door auto-lock feature (my friend says this feature can easily be enabled by simple programming at the service center. Any advise on this would be welcome).
- Distance to empty and average fuel consumption meters missing
- I initially wondered about all the fuss about the small display of the music system but after couple of days (hours to be precise) behind the car, can clearly see it becoming a nuisance - not complaining for the lack of touch screen/ GPS (though this is on its way to the Indian market starting Jul'15) but selecting a particular song from a collection of 3000+ songs on my 64GB USB is extremely cumbersome and next to impossible - turning the small knob countless times only to skip through few files. Option to review the root folder and the folder structure would have been a sane option.
- For the premium HMIL charges for this car, at least the top end should have donned the leather upholstery.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine Performance: While many complain the petrol bird lacks power - I never for once felt so when the right gear ratios are maintained. The engine is soo refined that you would hardly feel the car idling even with the AC and Audio turned off
Fuel Economy: The first full tak gave me about 10km/l on city with full a/c but that was majorly due to intentionally high clutch usage. I'm now running on my second refill and could clearly see a marked improvement eyeing somewhere around 12-13km/l - fingers crossed!
Gearbox: While generally good, I frequently encoutner issues with engaging the first and reverse gears. Many a times even with the best of efforts, I find the first gear does not engage properly and eventually falls back to neutral. This happened even with my friend when he was driving my car. Engaging the 1 & 2 gears is a bit rough but hope it would settle in with more km's and post the first service - fingers crossed once again!!
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is good and the steering feedback is generally good but can sense frequent uneven responses while on the run. The brakes too feel buttery at times especially while braking at more than 40-50kmph (while at higher gears) causing butterflies in the belly. I would certainly expect Hyundai to provide better braking for a premium vehicle of this class.
Final Words
A good all round car with good performance, excellent spacing, superior looks. A hatch with a premium sedan class from inside is sure to provide many happy miles.
