This car ended my brainstorming for about 2 months. I am recently married, have a younger brother and stay with parents. My dad owns an Estilo and it was definitely very difficult for the five of us to squeeze (and I mean it literally) into it. So, was looking for a more spacious car with good features within my budget of ~ 6 Lacs. I looked at 6 cars- Indica Vista, Polo, Fabia, Micra, i10 and i20. Though Indica fitted into my budget, opted out of it because from experience, I did not trust the after-sales service. Bought this car a week back from Fortune Ford, Hyderabad. Had no hassles at all. Sales reps are very good and courteous.
Exterior Not many people would like the exterior. To me, it did not matter much, although I must say that the car looks decent. Looks very similar to Fusion from the rear. Rest assured that nobody will hate the design.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very nice features. Seats are very comfortable. The car is far more spacious that it seems from the outside. Ford SHOULD have given some more storage space in the back doors. Audio system with bluetooth is excellent. Little features like the lane change indication system, rapid deceleration warning, boot opening button all add to the wonderful driving experience. A/C is very effective. Quite often, I do not even have to turn the cooler to maximum.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is not too noisy. You dont feel any noise at all when you are inside the car. My car gives me around 11 in the city, yet to give it for 1st servicing. Would have liked it to give me about 2-3 kmpl more for my driving style. Fingers crossed.
Gears are butter smooth. The pick-up takes some time to get used to. It all depends on how much you rev the engine up. It is not bad by any standards, but I would say it is just average.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality and handling. The car stamps its authority on the road, both on the highway and in the city. You dont feel bumps much when compared to most of the Maruti cars. I presume it is because of the better suspension system (independent suspension). Wider tyres means that at high speeds, the car is much more stable and grips the road better. The top speed I achieved (or so I thought) is 135 kmph.
Final Words I think Ford will hit it big with this car. A complete value for money and great spacious car for a family of 5. Since this car is a 'Made in India', I dont expect too much of maintenance costs as well. We find FIGO much more comfortable and it fitted well within my budget (as compared to other cars I already mentioned).
Areas of improvement The pick-up can definitely improve. For a 1200 cc engine, the car is slow in gaining momentum. Given that it is an american company, I would have loved to have rear power windows and steering controls, at least to answer calls and control volume. The seats are a bit low, which makes ingress a little bit tedious. Also, the bottom of the steering hits you in the knee every time you go in. Small things, but given Ford's diligence, I feel they should not have been overlooked.

Exterior Depends from person to person. I felt a missing of Alloys, Side beading and Fog lamps in ZXI version. But got all these things added by my dealer (Cauvery Ford - Bangalore) to my choice and satisfaction.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I would say Figo has best in class Cabin and boot Space. It has a best in class AC and factory fitted Audio system with Bluetooth Audio and phone controls. The Speakers are really good until you are a die hard fan of 1000 W systems. I never used a CD or USB drive as my phone caters to all my in-car audio needs.
I donno about the situation when there are 3 people in the back seat. But with 2 in front and 2 in rear + standard lugguage in the boot, any long journey is more than just comfortable for a hatchback.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox If you are a Race Maniac then you may have to add a Race Chip or Spider Kit on your Figo to make it a perfect performer. Otherwise for a normal City or Highway use (Cruise speed upto 120 KMPH) the Figo is a good performer on light right foot ( <2500 RPM on highway for 120 KMPH speed & 1700 -2000 RPM for speeds upto 80-90 KMPH)
GearBox is Good to handle and the car returns a decent FE of 16-18 KMPL in City and 21-23 KMPL on highways with AC 90% ON.
Ride Quality & Handling With a perfectly positioned and adjustable driver's seat you never feel lack of control while driving. (Steering Adjustment may be a missing factor for some of you). Power Steering is really good and you dont need your own power on it (like the Indicas).
Final Words At 4500 Kms - I am very happy about this purchase and is very happy about my dealer for their service ( I heared a lot of bad things about Ford Dealers , but have never had any bad experience with Cauvery Ford Bangalore and its sales executive Mr Syed).
Areas of improvement Rear Power windows would be a great addition.

Exterior Though the exteriors are not eye catching like new Chevybeat, but they really look nice to me. The car has an elegant look from outside. The curves are well designed and they fit well with the length and width of the car. The car looks quite cool both from the front and the back. I personally don't like unnecessary curves and designs added to the car, so I love this one.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The first thing you will notice as you enter the car is the spaciousness. 3 normal size people can easily sit on the back seat comfortably. Leg room for the rear passengers is better than Swift and just comparable to Punto.
Exi version comes with integrated Music system which is quite nice. Front dash board is just sufficient for you to keep almost everything you need. The plastic quality is decent enough as compared to other cars of the segment.
The car engine is controlled with an Intelligent Microprocessor which puts off the lights after 15 minutes, if the car is left closed with the lights ON. Car is automatically locked as the car speed reaches 7 km/hr, just adds to the safety.
On both the front gates, we have space to keep 1 ltr bottle also.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I have driven this car for 1000 kms now and both in city traffic and highways. The pickup is a little low as compared to swift or i10 if AC is ON, but its still quite nice. It is quite enough for me as I don't drive the car for 0-100 kms in 15 seconds or something like that. If you are a fan of sports car than you should not go for it, but from a family car point of view, its just perfect.
Regarding the fuel economy, in city I am getting around 12 km/ltr with AC ON. On highways I got around 16-17 km/hr when I drove between Delhi and Jaipur.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is superb and so is handling. You get a brilliant view of all sides while driving and hence the car is very easy to handle. Gear shifting is smooth and braking is up to the mark.
Final Words This is a great value for money in the segment. You can't get these features at this price in any other car. Its worth buying and I am very happy to have it.
Areas of improvement Fords service network is needed to be improved in Class B and C cities. This is the main area of concern, though they are successful in bringing down the spare part prices after starting the manufacturing plant in India itself.

Exterior: Good looking exteriors, especially the tails lights adds beauty. when compared to all other hatch backs figo is having very competitive attractive exteriors
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): I should discuss more on this,
1) Ample legroom for driver, rear passengers too. DTE(Distance to Empty) meter helps a lot for mileage checking, i think no other hatchback is providing this.
2) Hydraulic power Steering is awesome which is uncomparable with all other hatchbacks.
3) AC is best in class, cabin gets chilled in few secs.
4) Comfortably 5 persons can be boarded.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
1) Gear Shift is smoother, and gear ratios are pretty well designed for both city and highway
2) FE: i got around 16 in city with AC on always, 18 in highways. yet to go for ist service.
Ride Quality & Handling
1) Road Grip was excellent in FIGO, I crossed 100 and i dint feel my car shake even a little bit and at corners also did well for me. I think FIGO is top class in handling as it has wider tyres with good dynamics for highways rides.
Final Words
Finally it has justified my decision of buying FIGO diesl. A good package when compared to all hatchbacks in the market. Just compare with Swift Diesl VDI which is 80k more than FIGO. Then why cant you go for car like FIGO which has all qualities what a hatchback needs with a value for money tagline.

Exterior Ford Figo is a beautifully crafted car and comes with amazing colors. I own the squeeze color, which is more of a futuristic color and stands apart from the rest of the cars on the road. It gains attention too from a lot of youngsters.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features like bluetooth connectivity with cellphone, lane change indication, electrically adjustable OVRM are good. Figo is a spacious car with enough legroom for all passengers. Even the thighs rest properly onto the seats, improving the comfort level on long journeys. I am 5'11" and feel comfortable both driving and sitting on the back seat.
The suspension is really good as compared to other cars in the segment. The effect of ditches is dampened to a level that you can hardly feel them.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1.4 lt duratorq diesel engine is one of its kind with amazing torque and power. I like the pick up of the vehicle. I have driven more than 9500 kms and i am getting a mileage of 19.5 km/lt on highways and 17.5 km/lt in city. This is more than sufficient. Gears are easy to shift and smooth, and properly located for easy grip.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good. Handling is really awesome even at high speed of 90-100 km/hr.
Final Words Very good car which will definitely put pressure on competition to bring out better cars in the same segment.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)- did not feel any problem on a Non stop drive from Shimla to Delhi
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox- Good performance, any time RPM crosses 2000, the fuel consumption increases. Otherwise if one can compromise on fuel economy then 130 KMPH is a sturdy speed.
Ride Quality & Handling- Very comfortable
Final Words- even after driving 8500 KMs I find the car response very good, No noise inside the cabin. I have been driving with the AC on through out. Even negotiating steep bends the response and grip is best in class. People are comparing it with I20 and POLO, we should understand that the Top end Figo cost 1.14 Lakh less. Therefore, there are few features less, however, from safety point of view this car is far superior. Fuel economy is good.
Now for those who have bought this car for the first time, please do not compare with a petrol car. Diesel cars have their inherent drawbacks.I did Delhi-Shimla in my Petrol car earlier and now in Figo. There is a difference in response and power (Petrol is better) but then Petrol is very expensive. If one knows limitation of Diesel then there is no problem. Full tank of Figo can ensure a trip to shimla and back(Delhi).
Areas of improvement - Nothing much, mud flaps could have been rubberized instead of molded plastic.

engine perfomance seems to be good. i bought the car from kairali ford in cochin. they offered above 20 km/litre in highways and 15-16 in city drive. But I am getting only 10 km/litre in city. other than poor fuel economy the car is an excellent one and value for money. My friend also had the same mileage problem which has not been rectified by the service persons inspite of our repeated complaints. Now the reply we have recieved is they have sought the help of the engineers from the company and they will sought out the problem as soon as they get reply from the company.

Features is just amazing. Audio player very good. Bluetooth option is one that we find in top end mid-size cars. Very comforatble even for 6ft person on both front and rear seat. Good quality plastics used.

Engine is as smooth as butter, you do not feel that its a diesel engine running under your hood at all. Performance is good as well. Figo has inheritted Gearbox from Fiesta, so i dont think i have explain much here, the best in its class.

The best car for a small family. Unless you travel all alone most of the time, you can go for this car. Even our parents will find the rear seat conftble. AC is another big boost to this car as it cools the cabin very fast. Boot space as we all know is the biggest of all Hatchbacks till date. What else...Go for it
