Mileage for Ford Fiesta 1.4 SXi

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Interiors are good and features smartly provided for the price of the car. I really dislike not having Power locks, and can;t understand why they couldn't provide automatic central locking.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:

I had read reviews before buying the car that the Ford Fiesta Diesel has a mileage in the range of 21 to 23. I have clocked 1000 odd Kms on the car and Have filled up the Tank twice, that gives me an average mileage of 12. I would like to know the experiences from other buyers. My entire driving has been in the city, and I dont believe engines nowadays need that much time to tune up to optimum performance. 

Ride Quality & Handling:

Ride quality is good, although a bit sluggish at lower torques expected from a diesel engine. I am new to driving a diesel so it feels odd.

Final Words:

I am really getting worried on the mileage, my 9 year old Matiz used to give me an aaverage of 13 in the city on a petrol car.
