Gor for it only for the exterior looks. Otherwise a very ordinary car.

I went for a test drive of this car expecting a lot. But I should say mostly I was disappointed. They did a very fine job in giving it a grand exterior. From outside, without doubt, it is a looker. The red one almost gives an impression of Ferrari. But then all good things end at that point.

The interior is very badly designed and the looks very cheap. Following are some of the real spoil sport ...

1. The CD panel, AC outlet etc. is very big, occupying most of the dash board. In comparison, the instrument panel is small.

2. The lettering in the instrument panel is also small.You need to concentrate hard to make out where the needle is actually pointing. I don't want to do that when driving in heavy traffic or on highways. Moreover, after turning on the light, the instrument panel has orange background and the needle is also orange. It generates a greater confusion.

3. Both front and back is really congested. I am 6 Ft tall, so I need more leg room in Driver's area. But if I adjust that, I need to compromise space at the back.

4. The dashboard appears to be made of cheap plastic. Even the CD player etc markings seems to be painted or stencilled down. It can wear out soon.

5. The clutch foot pad near the clutch pedal is a bad thing. It impeded by ability to depress the clutch properly during the test drive. They could have given a cruise control instead.

6. The door seemed very heavy, I think it is probably due to the extra load they have put in the door for the pockets etc.

7. The head room at the back is the worst ... it is very low. A small hump on the road can make people's head bump against the roof.

8. Don't know the mileage yet but the showroom people say a good 18km/lt for the diesel version. That should a good one in the current market.

9. Steering handle was very thin and did not have any grip. But I think most people will put in their own grip from outside.

10. Rear view mirror, all sides, is very small. You have to peer for a few secs to actually get a proper view.

11. Waiting time to get the car actually delivered is 8 - 10 weeks ... Almost 2 months. Nahhh...

Well, a few positives that I found is

1. The gear shift is soft and very nice to the hand.

2. The clutch is very smooth and I couldn't feel the engine vibrations at all. It will be sometime before someone gets used to the clutch/accelerator combination.

3. The seat is comfortable and cosy. The front hand rest is also a very good thing.

 

My take on this is that, go for this car only if you are looking for a luxury sedan and you cannot afford the high end models. If you want to gain some looks for your car then you can consider it. Who looks at the interior anyway except you or your friends/family.

I anyway has decided NOT to go for this model. Not this version at least.
