Review after driving 30,000 kms.

 

Exterior I was looking for a car, which had all round qualities, the classy styling of the Linea caught my eye, typical of a thorough bred italian background. The car, even while standing, looks as if it is in fluid motion.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors of the car is relatively simple, yet modest. The best feature of the car is the bluetooth facility which contributes immensly to DAFE driving. The Air conditioning is satisfactory. The seats are very comfortable and adjustable. Most people complain of a not too smooth ride for rear passengers, this is not the case with the Linea. The boot space is really ample, with tool placement well thought out.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine obviously lacks punch, but therin lies a slight compromis a tradeoff between oomph and fuel economy. I like my linea engine, since the power limits are more than adequate for Indian roads. One has to juggle around with the gears a bit to maintain power. This is true especialy in the ghats. or even in dense traffic. With out the AC on, the power is obviously better. The fuel economy (with full blast AC at ALL times) is 17.8 kmpl. Which I think is highly satisfactory. The gear box is smooth.

 

Ride Quality & Handling This is one of the greatest features of this car, the ride quality is just fantastic. The car due to its low CG, hugs the road and I may recount one experience- I was travelling at 130 kmph and as I took a slight turn, an old village woman walked right onto the road. This led to some quick manouvering on my part, the car moved like a snake and I managed to avoid the woman with sufficient space to spare and without going out of control. This is the BEAUTY of this car.

 

Final Words After 30000 kms all I have to say is that I am very happy with my linea and would not think of replacing with with any other car. Value for money all the way.

 

Areas of improvement Probably a bit more Power otherwise NOTHING!
