Mercedes-Benz has launched the C43 AMG coupe in India at Rs 75 lakhs (All-India ex-showroom). This is the first time that
Mercedes has brought the C43 AMG to India as a two door model and it follows in the wake of the updated C-Class and C-Class cabriolet, both of which were launched in India in late 2018.
First things first, the C43 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 producing 383bhp/520Nm. It’s an all-wheel drive and makes use of a new nine-speed AMG speed shift automatic transmission. The styling is typical Mercedes coupe with a large
front over hang and a stubby boot complete with those wraparound tail lamps that have a two piece LED setup in them.
Inside, you get a black and silver cabin with the AMG spec steering wheel, seats as well as the AMG badging all over. Because this is a Mercedes, you get leather, wood inserts, touchscreen infotainment system with the latest MBUX and multi-zone climate control.
In terms of pricing, this car is a direct rival to the likes of the Audi S5 and BMW 6 Series GT, both of which are priced closely and offer similar levels of power, comfort and styling. In this price bracket you also get the entry-level versions of the big seven-seat SUVs like the Audi Q7 and the BMW X5. However, the most direct rival for this car would be the Ford Mustang which is two lakh rupees cheaper and a rear-wheel drive.
Lastly, the C43 AMG is now the new flagship model in the C-Class range and is only offered in India via the CBU route.Â
