-Unveiled at the 2018 New York Auto Show
-Cosmetic updates inside and outside
-New 1.6-litre diesel engine
-New Eight-speed automatic
- Expected to come to India in 2019
The facelifted Hyundai Tucson was spotted in South Korea post its debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show. This is a mid-life update for the South Korean automaker’s D+ segment SUV and the presence of this model indicates that Hyundai has begun production of the car outside of the USA.
The updates to this car comprise a slightly modified face, new design for the alloy wheels, tail lamps and rear bumper. Inside, the centre console has been revised with a minimalist design as well as a floating display for touchscreen.
There is a new 1.6-litre diesel motor which can be had in the 113bhp or 130bhp state of tune. Both get a six-speed MT but the latter can also be had with a seven-speed DCT and optional AWD. The 2.0-litre unit now gets an eight-speed AT as a part of the package.
This updated Tucson will come to India in 2019 and be locally assembled for the domestic market.
