Hyundai recently announced the development of the Kona, the brand’s upcoming SUV for Europe. Now, we have come across one of the early prototypes of the vehicle at the infamous Nurburgring circuit in Germany.
The vehicle will be the fourth member of Hyundai’s SUV range in Europe after the Grand Santa Fe, Santa Fe and the Tucson. The name Kona is derived from the Kona district on the Big Island of Hawaii. According to Hyundai, the Kona is expected to play an important role in the brand’s aim to become the leading Asian car brand in Europe by 2021. In all, Hyundai is expected to launch 30 new models and derivatives.
Coming back to the Kona, the vehicle has been designed keeping younger buyers in mind. It wouldn't look like a scaled-down version of the Tucson crossover and would use an edgier design like the competition including the Nissan Juke.
