Ford India is all set to launch the Fiesta facelift this month. It is expected to be priced aggressively in the Indian market to set their C segment sales on fire. But that would be all for 2014. The American manufacturer is set to introduce three new cars in 2015, across the segments.
The first one is the next generation of the company’s most popular model, the Figo. Currently, this small car is called Ka and is being developed by the Brazilian arm. Its overall design is very similar to the Ford Mondeo but the company says the Ka highlights bold design, quality engineering and innovative technologies. The Ka will use the 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine, only the entry-level variants may be offered sans the turbocharger. The diesel version will continue to derive power from the 1.4-litre TDCI mill.
The second car in question is the Figo sedan. It was first revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo and will be under sub-4 metre that will make it compete with the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Xcent. The concept model looks brilliant but we are expecting the production version to be toned down a bit. Just like the Figo hatchback, the sedan too will get the same tuned 1-litre EcoBoost engine. Diesel engine will be borrowed from the new Fiesta.
Ford will launch the new Endeavour in 2015 that has been built from ground up. This new seven-seater SUV will offer more space, especially in the third row. This SUV is likely to retain the same engines with slight changes and is expected to get six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The pricing is expected to be close to the Toyota Fortuner, which is the current market leader.
