Ford India has announced that it has sold 14,215 vehicles in April. These sales figures includes both domestic and exports. The company sold 13,297 units in the corresponding month last year.
In terms of domestic sales, the company sold a disappointing 4,931 vehicles as compared to 6,651 units in the same month last year. However, the overall exports increased to 9,284 units as against 6,646 units in the same month last year.
“The current economic environment is still a mixed bag with inflation easing but weak monsoon, coupled with high interest rates, can potentially put pressure on vehicle sales in the coming months. We expect the demand to improve towards the last quarter of 2015 and are geared to make the most of this improvement with plans to introduce three new products in the next 12-15 months. Each of these vehicles will delight our customers and set new benchmarks in their segments with their head-turning looks, clever convenience and outstanding fuel efficiency,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director marketing, sales, service at Ford India.
Ford will launch the much awaited Figo hatchback and the sedan this year, which will help them increase their overall sales and market share. It recently inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Sanand, which is a part of their global export strategy.
