A fully camouflaged version of the Hyundai Tucson has been spotted on test in India. The spy pictures reveal some basic elements that we will be seeing in the production version like the projector headlamps, alloy wheels and full LED tail lamps. In terms of design, Hyundai has given the Tucson its latest fluidic design philosophy. This has given it a forward leaning stance with seating for five persons.
The car was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be launched in the D-segment where there is growing demand for SUVs in favour of its traditional sedan population. The SUV will be slotted along the Elantra in their lineup.
It is expected to be offered with the 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel motor that produces 128bhp and 260Nm of torque. It seems possible that they may also offer the car with the 1.8-litre petrol motor from the Elantra that produces 147bhp and 178Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed AT. It will slot in between the Creta and Santa Fe in Hyundai’s SUV lineup.
