Exterior For me the styling looks good and unique.
Interior The quality of material uesd is very good and even the finish is good. But only the fit is dissapointing. Due to this bad fit, ratlles are present. But this is not a big issue. Comfort and space is superb! Features are ok for the price what you pay
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is a gem! A combination of excellent power and mileage. I easily get 15-16Kms/ltr in both cities and highways. This engine makes overtaking effortless.
Ride Quality & Handling Low speed ride quality is very good, even on bad roads. But at high speeds like 120 Km/hr, the ride gets bouncy a little bit therby affecting the handling. But overall, the handling and ride quality is better than others except for a few.
Final Words Owning it, I am very proud and happy with Ritz. Service and cost of service is very good.
Areas of improvement The only area where Maruti have to work is damping and proper fitment of parts especially in the interiors.

Very good car from Maruti, excellent space, decent interiors. Nice performance, excellent mileage.
Gives an SUV type feel in the car, for a small car this is spacious is what I mean (just for folks like Mr. Mohandas)
Maruti should work on providing some additional goodies like the audio system, seat covers etc.

Ritz vxi was purchased in 2011 as we required a hatchback for local runs in Mumbai
This is not our first vehicle.
Currently we have
Audi A4( 2012 model -7000 kms done),
Toyota Corolla(2007 model -55000 kms run)
Ritz VXi( 2011 model, 12000 kms run)
Hyundai i10 Kappa2(2011 model, 50000 kms)

We had problem with Ritz vxi from first month of ownership
Burning smell coming while running . This was present from the first day, servicecentre people never able to find out, it went when I replaced clutch at my own expense at 10000 kms, I have never changed clutch in any of my previous cars . service centre people telling that I don't know to drive . Maruti always right in commenting when I never faced this issue in any of the other cars and still going strong .Mileage was around 8 kms in city from day one till we changed the clutch at 10000 kms . This shows that the car had a faulty clutch from beginning
Wiper motor had to be replaced as it got rusted( within 2 yrs of ownership, never I have changed this in any of my cars)
Clutch and all the components had to be replaced at 10000 kms( Ten Thousand Kms had to spend around Rs.8000 for this). After replacing clutch, mileage is 14 in city with AC, 18-19 on highway
Body panels have already started rusting, all the 4 window pane steel panel have rusted,
Fuel gauge developed error, now a days it never shows full . even if I fill it to top also, it will show 1 or 2 blocks less, Pathetic quality control from Maruti. This was working properly in the beginning

All cars are parking at same place inside my building and none of my vehicle has got rusted anywhere expect Ritz.
Even after have driving experience on so many cars, none of the vehicle clutch plates had to be changed anytime till I sell the car
Maruti service centre people will tell that driving is not proper so clutch is gone bad, this is inspite Ritz is driven mostly single person and you can see how less its being driven around( 10000 kms / 3 yrs= 3333 kms per yrs)
Most of the companies have gear box oil change interval of 1 lakh kms, but maruti had 20000 kms, This should make customers realize the poor quality of oil used by them.
Many have body antirust warranty for 6+ years, I don't even think Maruti will offer this . They can't as they know about their quality of parts
Maruti sells vehicles with very poor parts and puts blame on customer for their failure, Need to see how long does this company run like this . I will never recommend Maruti products to any of my friends nor family members and even in my company will let my colleagues know about the pathetic quality . Guys never buy Maruti, their diesel car sells just due to FIAT engine, else they would have lost the market by now

I had my Ritz VXi delivered a month back and so far done over 1200 kms in city driving alone... So thought this would be a right time to post my initial ownership... Here goes my experience...
Exterior As per many Ritz is not a good design considering its rear shape.. But I found that is something different than usual and it gives a style of its own.. They call the design to be of an ARROW, which can be easily observed if one looks at the car from the sides.. The front design of the car gives the car a bigger look... My neighbors i10 standing next to mine looks small when compared to Ritz.. It gives you a feel that you are driving a big car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors of the car is better when compared to any other Maruti car in the hatch segment. Still miss a utility boxes on the driver side. There is a small utility box available(V & Z versions only), which I did not use it till date.
The prime reason why I choose this car against any other car in its segment is the space and comfort that it offers.. Being a tall boy, the interior is very roomy. My mom having knee problems found it quite easy to get in and off this car, than compared to any other hatch till date. AC is quite powerful.. It can cool the cabin quickly. Three persons can be easily accomodated in the rear.. Boot space is quite small, but the split rear gives you an option to extend it.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is peppy and fun to drive.. Being a novice driver I found it quite easy to have a good hold of the car. The gear handle is very conveniently placed.. The gear throws are short and gives a good experience. Rarely I face issues in gear shift.. Not a major concern though. FE appears to be good enough for a new car. I am getting approx 13 kmpl with 100% ac on. considering that the car had just done 1200 kms, hoping that the mileage would improve.
Ride Quality & Handling Being a novice driver I found the handling to be too easy. Was finding it difficult for the initial few KMs. But from then riding had been a pleasure. Having driven mostly in City, I found this to be a good city car. the suspension can absorb pot holes quiet well. One area of concern would be the thick A pillar.. One should take a good test drive of this car and make them comfortable with this, as the thisk pillar is prone to create blind spots.. Having driven for quite sometime now, I do not find that as an issue anymore.
Final Words Good Car. Value for money.. Spacious & Cofort.

Exterior The styling on the front is excellent with the Audi style grill and the sharp headlights make it look very aggressive and bold. The wheel arches on the rear lend a balanced look to the rear. The new boomerrang shaped tail lights make the car stand out in the crowd. The sides look brilliant with the tall stance of the car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best interiors in the hatchback segment by Maruti in a very long time. Convenient storage spaces with the coin holder on the dash been very useful. The under seat tray is hardly useful, cup/bottle holders on the door could have been placed better. Nice fit & finish in the center console with a good silver lining to it. Very comfortable seats & the tall body design makes it getting in and out an ease for all. Rear glass is a bit small but you get used to it with time. Fuel indicator is digital and very useful. Great placement of the RPM meter which aids while driving especially on the ghats.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Amazing engine. The best of the petrol engines among i10,polo,i20,ford figo,beat. I test drove all of these cars and the engine response with ritz is the best. very light and peppy. Have done a highway trip to goa & back,total of 1200km on highway and got millage of 16.7km/l with full AC and speeds varying with top speed of 165km/hr
Gear box is very smooth and you just need your fingers to change gears. Very comfortable placed also.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is among the best in the competition. Though ride quality in polo is better but ritz rules over all other departments. There is slight body roll when over the ghats, but thats so minimal that you get used to handling that over time. Amazing handling and passenger comfort in ritz. NVH levels excellent with almost no engine noise in cabin. Slight noise of the tyres at high speeds but that is acceptable.
Final Words This is a must buy car for a small family & a complete VFM. Go ahead with this car without any doubts at all. I have completed 2000km on my Ritz Vxi within 20 days of delivery. Just love driving this car. Had exchanged my 4 year old Swift for this Ritz and I do not regret taking that decision.
Areas of improvement MISL can provide tyres that are put up with the zxi model in all models. This does make a big difference in the ride quality & handling. Or at least provide the customer with the option of selecting wider tyres at extra cost. Should provide remote locking also in Vxi models. one area MISL lacks is in packing the car with features as compared to its competition.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Spacious interiors, once you sit inside the car then you feel the car is really big inside and very comforatble for tall people.

Final Words Intially i was not sure have i bought the good car, many of my friends used to discourage me about the looks of the car. After driving more than 2000kms i can now proudly say i own Ritz,On highway on i got 18 plus mileage and in city i am getting around 16kpl with AC on, and i am not even expert driver this is my first CAR and i am not sure how smooth i drive. Maruti service guys told me i will get more mileage once i complete my 5000kms and have second service. The car is excellent and comfortable to handle while in city traffic (Imagine pune with congested roads and traffic). Car can comfortably seat 5 people and engine noise is almost nil, sometimes you dont even realize if the engine is ON.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nice leg room for both the passengers and the driver. Can accomodate 3 people comfortably in the rear seat.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I went to maruthi expecting a very good mileage, but I am getting only 11 to 12 KMPL, in city. Keeping that apart, the engine is very smooth(I haven't driven many cars). Initially I had some problems with the gear box, but after my 1st service it got resolved. The engine is very responsive, good pick up.
Ride Quality & Handling The engine in very smooth even at speed of 100 + KMPH. I really like the front view from the car. Compared to other cars, it gives a whole 180 degree view, which is very clear. I didn't manage to get this front view even in Swift and Santro.
Final Words If you want to choose a car with unique look and nice smooth k-series engine. This is the one.
Areas of improvement Interiors should have been much better. The view from rear window has to be improved.

Handling is really easy. The car has got a responsive steering. Ride is really smooth even at speed of 150Km/H . I have continously driven this car at more than 120Km/h without any hiccups really smooth and sound ride.
Final Words
Go for it its the best in its class. I considered Swift,i10 when i was buying, but gone for ritz bcoz of its new looks and Kseries engine. I got more than 16 Km/l in my last ride on highway AC was on throughout the ride.

Should have worked on the AC sound it actually produces noise at max level. Had this not been there then this car would have been noiseless!!!.

Exterior: The styling is the least appealing aspect of Ritz. Also it is a bit too high than really necessary for either space or comfort.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Interior is spacious and this is a big plus. Senior citizens can get in and out with ease. The features including instrumentation are bare minimum. Nothing extraordinary. No cup holders. The tachometer doesn't help enhance VFM. On this front Maruti is never known to be generous. The driving comfort is good but nowhere near i20. The JVC music syst I got fitted extra from Maruti (MGA) has a blue tooth capability but one must pay extra to have it activated. In Figo Titanium the music system comes with blue tooth activated.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine performance is good. The engine is very smooth and quiet, so much so that a couple of times I turned the starter on even when the engine was already idling. I got 16.5 km/l on long drive that included a 4 lane highway, turning and twisting ghat section and poor quality narrow road where I could not go beyond 60 kph. For nearly 8 hours out of the 10 hour drive the A/C was on. So, all in all the average was not bad I suppose.
Ride Quality & Handling: The ride quality is ok but due to its tall stance perhaps the handling can be tricky somewhat esp at high speeds on highway.
Final words: I bought this car in October 2009 and I am reasonably happy. However, had there been a k series engine 1200 cc Swift available then or may be a Figo Titanium, I wouldn't have gone for Ritz. I had liked i20 a great deal but regrettably it was out of my budget and Hyundai were not prepared to consider any discount either.
Areas of improvement: Maruti must realise that the competition is heating up in the premium hatch segment and must endeavour to give more features for greater value for money. The 'Maruti' name alone and the sales and ASS associated with it may not be good enough in the times to come.

Exterior One of the first reason to select Ritz is the unique shape. Whenever I used to go out in the city, this car used to attract with the design. Then I started to review on Ritz and found really amazing. Very big built car and there will be road presence.
The ground clearance is really good. I drove in the villages in the humpty dumpty road😄 and found no issues at all.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front and rear seat are really good and feel very comfort. Even 3 ppl can sit comfortable at the back seat. Long drives we wont feel any tiredness and comfort zone is good.
Dashboard is unique and gear lever on dashboard is really nice and very comfort for driving. On driving, I feel am driving a big car. The same opinion was given by my uncle and cousion.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The K series engine is really nice with almost no sound while driving. Whenever I have parked my car or standing in signal with the engine ON, I tried to switch on the engine which is already ON when starting to move the car
Fuel Economy was around 17 kms on Highway which included some Humpty dumpty roads with 50 % AC ON before the 1st Service. Although I am not a good expert driver and this is my drive on Highway.
Within the city I have not checked exactly but is was around 10 to 12 km. This may be due to my first driving experience in the city.
Ride Quality & Handling I drove around 100 to 120 kms speed and driving was really pleasure with no sounds/rattles except little tyre sound.
Final Words This is a really good car and recommend others to buy this.
Areas of improvement 1. They should provide some more features to the VXI model like rear parcel tray, body colored painting for handles and mirrors, door beading.
2. Maruti has to come out of the JKtyre and provide some good tyres which is free of sound and better grip on road.
