Dear Car lovers,

I am Hariharan from Chennai, in the past i had owned Hyundai Santro for 6 years and self driven it for  140000Km still it is doing good and it is being used by my brother..!!

When I felt like to upgrade my car I had thought of doing an analysis asusual like all of us :-) I test drew  Honda CITY ( just to have a feel but i wanted diesal car) , Old & transformed Verna, All new VENTO which was just launched at that time, Skoda Octavia & Laura , GM chevy cruze.!!  very thing had pros and cons but i had finalised VENTO and booked it also. later few months Fluidic was launched and i had been called by the dealer for test drive. It was mind blowing to look at that curves and bends it had eve though the frount was not very app on a over all look it took my heart off. So i had to cancel the VENTO with the silly reason that I can not wait for 6 months :-)

Finaly i got my Fluidic  Verna delivered on 1st of May 2011. It has very diff & tuff to explaining to all the curious peoples even while waiting in traffic about the car and features etc etc.!!

Ok Now what I had expected and got from this vehicle.!! I drive my self so all 3000KM done by me only 😲.

Interiors & Exteriors The leather seats very good in Quality and the touch feel is very good. The interior colour gives me an up market car feel, may be I was driving santro 😊 . The woody finish all around with crome gives satisfaction to my mind when ever i look at them. I had put additional vynile flooring to protect carpet and to give good AC feel. it is really helping to cool fast in chennai afternoon temp. Totaly me and my family is happy with the interiors.

regarding Exterior I nothing to say cos every one know by now how sexy is the vehicle. I could feel that when peoples from BMW and Audi LOOK peeping out  😉 . I had just added schuff foldings to the doors. looks good.!!

Vehicle perfomance 😎 I had first felt that the gear ratio was stupid design. cos it is too tall for city driving. but now i used to it and feel comfertable. The head lightes where very very insufficiant for tipical indian high ways with out street lights. So i had to upgrade to Philips Xenon and now its excellent. problem solved for my high way cruze.

Engine & power train is excellent and the tubo charger kickes in at 1500RPM . The over taking is an cake walk with Fluidic verna. the engine is more linear and delivers power linearly so no rush in of power like old verna. this gives u more confidence to drive.

The steering lacks control at high speeds above 170km/h gives nervesness to the driver. but when i have done my first long distance of 400Km long drive i had this problem only till 200km distance. then i started enjoying my drive even after i touched 180km..!! this is too much for a new engine but i wanted it to get well tuned.

Groung clearnce where adequate but still hit few time in some tollgates where they had high speed brakers made for trucks. Breakes where doing excellent job and i felt the ABS too during few incidence on the high way. confident braking at high speeds. Noice and vibrations was very minimal at high speeds 180km/h and low speeds . 

Fuel economy was not as per Hyundai promise, I got 12 ~ 13Km/l in pure chennai city traffic driving and 17 ~ 18 Km/l on HIGH way with avarage speed of 80Km/h. All the values are with Air Cond on. But I dont bother on this cos I know hyundai vehicles are not for milage. 😉.

Style , Engine and drive train, Interiours, passenger space, Pride of owning.Tall gear ratio , stearing response at high speed, painting quality, head lamp power, fuel economy.

 

Exterior Awesome body lines, superbly designed boot and overall body. Amaizing lights and bigger alloy wheels.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Beautifully designed. Very modern looking dash board. So many features that it really gets you excited everytime you sit in. The reverse cam, bluetooth integreted stereo and what not. The engine start stop button, 6 air bags, aux usb in for stereo, an excellent techometer..

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very refined and smooth. Company claims 21 odd km/l but in city with decent driving it should give around 15-16 km/l. The manual gear box is very smooth. No complaints.

 

Ride Quality & Handling The handling is very decent. It cruises smooth on long stretches. It takes the bumps very well and goes very well on the corners. Over all ride quality - nothing to complaint.

 

Final Words A beautiful car, value for money, brilliant features vs price. If its a diesel that you looking for then Verna it is. I have booked my car almost a month back and waiting for the delivery any moment.

 

Areas of improvement Shall post it if I come across any.

 

Loaded with features, elegant looks - fresh designNone till now, may be slight soft rear suspension - but negligable

 

Exterior Great looking car for the first time from Hyundai. Looks like a BMW from the back and side profile though not so great from the front but then Hyundai wants to make the hexagonal shape standard on all their cars.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is very pleasant in Beige. The features provided are endless. Steering mounted controls, USB, Aux, Bluetooth, Start Stop all very great. Front seating is great with the seats fitting you snugly though the back seating is just Ok more to do with the thigh support and the high windows in the back. Rear view isnt great since the adjustable head rests block the view to a great extent.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is decent but not as fun as the previous verna which was a rocket. Overtaking in the older verna was a jiffy but the new diesel seems to take a little more effort. The 0 to 100 KMPH dash though shows as 10.5 seconds. Gearshift is very decent on this version and I hope the fuel economy should be around 17km realistically in city driving with AC turned on though ARAI claims 22 kms to a litre.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Great for city traffic. Yet to try it on the highway. The steering is very light and great for city conditions but gets your scared at high speeds on the highway. Yet to try it out.

 

Final Words A very good overall package from Hyundai. Best looking amongst Honda, Vento and the Linea. Great diesel engine and many features which will give the other cars in this segment a run for its money.

Exterior The exterior is awsome, carries a sporty look, far better from the previous version. the rear side lights though look like the honda city still steals the show. the 16 inch alloy wheels gives it additional appeal.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Neatly placed ,loaded with lot of features like camera, sensors, bluetooth, volume control, cool glove box, foldable outside view mirrors, etc, good seats ,leg room.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pick up,value for money since it gives you good mileage (15 km/liter in city ) gerabox is smooth.

Ride Quality & Handling The drive quality is really good, smooth and soft. The suspensions are smooth ,that you dont feel that you are driving on the road. moreover once you accelerate to cross 40 in speed the vehicle gives you a loating experience.

Final Words No words, dont have to look back, go for it.

Exterior Outstanding. It has got a good aerodynamicc design. the headlamps and the fog lamps have been amazingly positioned. The electrically operated ORVMS provide for a good feel.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Amazing features for the demanded price. 6 airbags provide good safety, 3 people seating in the rear would not be too comfortable. the dashboard provides for a very rich look which gives the car a premium look, the two tone dashboad is positioned amazingly. the blue lighting on the centre console also provides for a very rich feel. rear ac vents should have been provided as it would make the drive very comfortable for those seated behind on hot summer days.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The crdi engine performance is too good. the 1.6 cc engine and 128 bhp provides for a very ggod power which is absent in the competition cars in this segment. the gear shifting is smooth and less stranious, the fludic provides a decent fuel economy which is quite mandatory in todays time considering the high price of fuel.

Ride Quality & Handling Good ride quality and the handling of the vehicle is quite satisfactory.

Final Words OVERALL A WINNER.

Exterior styling, push button start, reverse cameras, 6 air bags.Person sandwiched in the rear is not comfortable, no rear ac vent.

Not as good as old verna. I had the old verna for five years and for the same reason i upgraded to the new one. But was cheated by hyundai.

Not as good as the old one. Not worth the value of money

 

Final Words

i bought this vehicle for the airbags that came along with the fluidic verna. After purchasing the vehicle (dec 2013) i came to know that it had only two airbags. Lot of other features has been removed which should be conveyed clear to the customer. Spending 13 Lakhs and then knowing that you have been cheated is absurd and pray to God that no one else has to go through the same. people planning to buy this vehicle PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION.

Exterior Good styling and apealing , makes many eyes to turn around compared to VW.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable for 4 persons and little crumpy for 5.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I have done about 4000 kilometers, Very good power and will ease out your doubt for over taking other vehicles when required. I got about 15 in Bagalore city drive and about 18-19 in high way drive with partly using AC. The resaponse in 3rd gear is average which could be better.

Ride Quality & Handling The vehicle does fine on highway but a problem at high speed handling at corners. The vehicle bottom hits humps unless you slow down / dead stop at bumps. Very soft suspension and closed cabin will almost isolate outside noise. Now have recently observed little trouble while shifting gears suspect issue with gear shift bushes, have to get it checked out.

Final Words Very good styling, good power, interiors, pricing is bit higher.

Areas of improvement Mounting points of the lamps assemblies should be more sturdier, resolve issue of front & back weight ratio which is also evident in previous verna.

Great look, styling & power, good interirorsHandling discomfort at higher speeds while cornering,delicate front bumper fog light mounting.

This car is a great car; I have spent 1 month with this car and its simply a pleasing great car. 

Few of the positives that i recall:

1. Stylish car when compared with the other sedans available in the market.

2. Good/gentle pickup and smooth driving.

3. Cool car; don't find it disturbing under any circumstances.

4. Very spacious/stylish interiors.

5. Very very good on nice road.

6. Fully loaded with niche accessories like reverse parking camera etc.

Few of the negatives: (in detail as this is very important for new buyers)

1. As everybody mentions, when are bumpy roads, if you are speed is decent (40KMs); you happened to hit the car frame. The sound is annoying as though it hit the car frame. Bangalore roads are pretty bad in some places, and I happened to get this hit 3-4 times so far in an avg speed between (25-45). However, this is nothing too worriable if you are careful with bad roads

2. Next: Bluetooth: the bluetooth goes off when you switch on the engine (it doesn't stop when you switch off the engine though). In bangalore you tend to do this on every other signals ;) In case you have a call connected via bluetooth you should not turn off the engine otherwise you call gets disconnected from the bluetooth when you turn on. This is kind of annoying.

Also it takes wild time to get connected (about a minute).

3. Music system: I would say, its a new wine in old bottle. This doesn't recognise the iPod/iPhones when connected directly via the USB. The car comes with a external card that kind of helps connecting the iphone/ipod without any issues however this is not going to help if you have a iPhone 5 or later. The same issue as of point 2 for the music via bluetooth. once the engine is turned on during the signal; it begins to play from the beginning of hte player; no matter which song you were in.

Basically I feel bluetooth feature in this car is for namesake. I think this will not be a issue if you are not turning off the engine (long drives this is not an issue).

4. Mileage: I get about 12kpl (diesel car) (please dont mistake this point; the peak hours i use the car, i move at a spead of 5-15 for 45% of the time). So I dont think my review should be considered in terms of mileage. To give a better idea, I have driven 800kms so far and my avg speed so far is 16.

5. Seat: The color of the seat forces you to put a leather seat or any cover on top of it. So be prepared to spend on that.

After all these issues, I would still rate this car good (hopeful to fix all these issues in the upcoming versions).

Good Carbasic features are not robust

Exterior Well furnished body, awesome lightning (mostly the DRLs), aerodynamically tuned well 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The rear boot space is little congested and the seats are deep-in as, rest are best. Mostly at this price range I expect a sunroof or moonroof atleast. The car is fully loaded with intruments from keyless push button start to my fav. eco mode facility. The cabin is fully sound proof. At times when the music system is on I could barely hear the honking of the horns.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I would say very good but not outstanding. But frankly its a queen upon looks but a beast on the road which comes to the engine performance. excellent turbo charged engine. Just zooooommmmm.

Ride Quality & Handling Ecellent. Very comfortable. Handling should be taken care a bit when travels more than 140 kmph as I m driving I can feel the trembling a bit 

Final Words Distinctly awesome !! I love my Verna just as my newly wedded wife. 

Areas of improvement I want a Xenon headlamps (but I love those projectors though) and handling at higher speeds.
