Exterior I was about to book a VW polo and b4 booking that i went for a duster testdrive and the car was really good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) But i am a bit disappointed with the interiors, low quality plastics,but at that price we can't expect more than that rest all are good, in the top end model rear a/c vents are not convenient,as i took lowend model i dont have  that problem.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Superb driving experience,  gears and good economy.

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth stearing and road grip was too good.

Final Words When I went for a test drive... everybody on the road was giving a second look to the car.

Areas of improvement Body needs to be a bit solid and interior plastics quality needs to be improved, But as of now for the price of the car it is worthy.

I was looking to buy a car but I am not exited, but when I drove duster, I felt this is what I want and I am really exited for the new car.

I booked Duster from Whitefield Renault Bangalore on 14-Jul-2012 and it was told that it would take 12 weeks for the delivery. Today, it is more than 8 weeks and there is no update on when my vehicle will be delivered. In between, I tried contacting the sales consultant for Accessories and other details, but there was proper response, and no update at all. Even if you call there is no proper response and the consultant looses his temper/patience and he speaks as though they are doing a favour for customer by taking a booking for Duster.

Now on the other hand, I tried reaching the customer care for Renault. I always get a standard response “We regret the inconvenience caused to you” and there is no real effort done to address the issue. On top of that they were not ready to share the ticket number, which was raised for No proper updates. At last I got the ticket number, for which I had to call them at least 4 times to get the number. They shared the ticket number and they are not in a position to tell that when I will get my allotment date.

After all these, I spoke to one of the person (who is supposed to be a sales Manager in Whitefield Renault) who told he will speak to his consultant and get back, I have not got any updates from him. Also, his expression was since the booking is a base variant and grey color, delay might be because of this.

Here are my thoughts based all this mess created by Renault by launching Duster,

       1. If pre-sales are handled this way, god knows how afters sales/service will be offered to customer.

       2. If they cannot deliver base variant with grey color, they should have a disclaimer mentioned that there will be special time taken to deliver the base variant.

       3. I get a feeling that Renault had absolutely no planning on how will it deliver its bookings.

       4. Their customer support requires another customer support to help them how to manage the situation.

       5. Clearly lack of planning and they are taking customers for a ride, not on duster but with a messy system.

The car is just good in deign, that too the rear is very wide. It need tremendous improvement in terms of pickup and customer care. Just imagine the company books the car with several orders for 85 ps version but till date none delivered. In fact the are saying we might not get it by feb. I got a call to upgrade, why shall I shelve out extra money as it's my secondary vehicle. If they had qualms why did they book it. They are saying ome for a refund.

This behavior is fraud under law and I AM GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT IN COURT.

Exterior Nice looking.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Too much plastic, bad rear air vent should be in roof, too much premium for good finish, poor stereo.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good economy, engine clean, poor pickup.

Ride Quality & Handling Low body role, does not feel safe enough.

Final Words They booked the car to be delivered in navratra and now saying it won't be delivered at all- the 85 rxe version,the dealer at Lucknow has told me they will delay it further so most people buy the expensive one. WAKE UP PEOPLE the high end variants booked after the low end variants wil be delivered earlier. To keep margins high. Why did they book the low variant in the first place, to built a price line.

Areas of improvement When they can't be fair in the delivery of the vehicle, they will continue to fool the customer after the sale.

I am an owner of Renault Duster 85PS for the last four months and driven about 7000kms. Its a good family vehicle nice space for five and good boot space.

Texture of dashboard and door trims are not of superior quality, AC Cooling is very erratic some times you feel great and sometimes you need a hand fan to cool your self, Door noise is quite prominent on rough, Their is a quite noise from engine at 1700-1800 rpm on highways which is the normal driving speed at about 80km/hr.

Fuel economy is good what I magaged is 15km/lt on highways at the speed of 90km/hr

Gear Shifting is good but do manage to shift quite often in local driving.

While corning the tyre sound is quite prominent as it you are dragging them(hope there will be no excessive wear).

Finaly Its a good vehicle for city as well as hoghways.

Nice handling, Good brakes,decent mileage, Good engine performance.

Renault has to improve in after sales service from the dealerside as well as from the company side. 😊

Areas of improvement I booked the 85 BHP RXE on 5th of Jul. I was given the delivary date as Mid-Oct. Recently I got a call from Rennalt Customer care that my date of delivary would be Feb 2013. The customer care executive tried to lure me into upgrading to higher model. 

 The dealers sales executives are continuesly trying to force me to upgrade me to higher model. The lower level executives are shamelessly telling me that the RXE Model is not being produced and the delivary of the same is uncertain. Well, for a company that is just trying to enter Indian market this is not a very good strategy on their part. I have completly lost faith in the management of this company and I am cosidering switching to Toyota Innova. I am also cosidering going ti cosumer court.

The company really need to adapt a more honest approach towards its customers if it wants to last in the markedt.

Exterior Really great, except thin painting and low cost door handles.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space, drive position is good. for driver and others. features cut like armrest, a/c not sufficient on highways in summer. Comfort is bad road is really good - class above other comparable sedans. Enough space for 5 grown ups in the car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is a power horse, never runs behind on highways, fuel economy on highways with a/c 19.1kms/ltre for 85ps. Gear box is good qulity but not as good as Hondas.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is excellent, Handling is marvellous. 85PS w/o ABS is a bit shaky at curves above 120km/hr.

Final Words 85PS diesel variant is  a real value for money on Indian roads. You can go almost anywhere, if there is something called road, really good for highways, hill stations. Bad road drive quality is commendable.

 This is not a luxury SUV, but a complete car for those who drive across long distance. If you see it that way, its reall value for money. I would say way above comparably priced sedans and MUVs/CSUVs. A Sedan+MUV+MPV+SUV.

Areas of improvement A/C quality can be better, exterior paint quality can be better. Armrest for driver.

Sales was pathetic initially, their showroom has no management discipline. Kochi Renault prepared hypothecation when the money was paid in full! so many boys and girls as staff, but hardly any men to handle things. I hope things improved in 2014.

Exterior Good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Middle row is bit conjusted and only two persons can sit confirtably especially with higher end verient, because of the AC vent given for the middle row and only the miidle person can feel the AC.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I don't personally liked the initial pickup of 110BHP vehical, as it lags intial pickup.

Ride Quality & Handling Value for money. You can not just compare with INNOVA or XUV 500.

Final Words I booked the vehicle before it launched. Till date I have not even got the delivery date and when I inquired about the delivery date, representitives are giving replay that the company is not manufacturing the Basic varient and I may get the vehicle in the month of Mar 2013. And if company stopped manufacturing the Renault Duster 85PS RxE (D) why the hell they launched the basic varient. I stronglly thinking to withdraw my booking and file the cheating case against the company. Just think about the number of units on this varient got booked and each one of us might have paid around 50K. They might have got huge money as booking amount itself. This company is also playing like our politicians.

Areas of improvement As an startup motor company in INDIA, be stick on to your promise of delivery or any promise that matters. Don't think initial bookings are your success. Success will come on base of how prompt you are and how you give service.

 Interior is not at all good. Ver poor plastic quality, leg space at both driver and back rows are really good. Boot space is also extremely good

 some times we will be not able to notice whether engine is on, very smooth and no noise at all. Gear box is also ok. We have driven new vehicle around 2300 kms mileage we are getting around 18 kms.litre

Ride Quality & Handling

 Ride quality is good and only one disadvantage there is no seat height adjustment

Final Words

 Duster is almost like mini fortuner on road. although apperance seems to be simpler , on road it looks like mini SUV fortuner vehicle. Fuel economy in my vehicle is around 18 kms/litre. Pick up in between 2ndand 3rd gear is superb.intial pick up and torque is extremely well maintained. We have observed at 140 km/hr in highway roads there was slight steering vibration, however this has to be rectified in my 1st service. Overall this vehicle is most comfort for tall people and very easy ,cool and comfort driving. 

Areas of improvement  

 Plastic quality, interior handle material and dash boad material to be improved. MRF tyres shall be replaced by michillin to avoid tyre noise. Proving should be reduced so that it will lead Indian marker for a long periods.

Final Words I have purchased duster very recently and driven around 2500Kms. Riding is comfort, pick up in between 2nd 3rd gear is superb. At 140 speed there was slight steering vibration. Tyres noise is slightly observed. ac is not sufficient in back rows. Slight drop in power during full ac on. Overall this vehicle is really good and could be called as mini fortuner . Road grip is really good as compare to other similar vehicles.  Plastic quality is too low and dash board shall be still further improved.  Cost of the vehicle is high as compare to same segments with still better features. If cost factor and some quality issues  are being taken care duster can lead for a long period and it will be owners pride.

Areas of improvement Inside handles, dashboard, plastic quality  to be improved immeditely. MRF tyres should be replaced by michillin.
