Best Diesel Hatch

 

Exterior Looks good and is sufficiently hardy (VW Polo should be the winner in hardiness though). The side lights and the rear light panel is awesome to look at especially at night - but these are really subjective specifications - opinions may vary (I also like the i20 looks)

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The best feeling is to be inside the car - it is exteremely spacious and almost feels like a sedan. Add to this an excellent AC and a very good music system with Bluetooth capabilities - simply a joy to be in.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Driving, even in a maddedning city like Kolkata is a pleasure - thanks mainly to the very nice gearbox with comfortable gear shifts. Fuel economy is decent too for a 1400cc deisel hatch - I am getting an average of 14 km/l in city with AC.

 

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth handling and an extremely responsive steering wheel. Feels awesome to drive at high speeds and has extremely good steering response even at high speeds (I took a try at 150+ km/h)

 

Final Words A sure buy for someone looking for a Diesel hatch with class and style while being affordable.

 

Areas of improvement: It beats me why on earth Ford did not consider the highest model to come with all four power windows and adjustable steering height!!! That would make it the most complete car!!!
