One Freestyle in a market full of shitty hatchbacks...
I love my Freestyle.
I took a BS4 Titanium Plus 1.5 TDCI a month back. I think I made a smart decision.
The car comes loaded with so many safety and convenience features.
Some of the Pro's
1) 6.5" Touch Screen Infotainment System with Sync 3 : It comes with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It is by far the best system within 10 -15 Lakhs bracket.
2) Ride Comfort : The ride is very smooth. It absorbs all the potholes without any issues.
3) Safety Features : ABS + EBD + TCS + HLA + ESP + 6 Airbags + Emergency Assist + Electronic IRVM. Good luck finding such features within 10 lakhs range. Don't even bother. You won't find it.
4) Build Quality : Close the door and you will find the reassuring thud that is symbol of Ford Build Quality.
5) Powerful Engine : 1.5 Liter Diesel Engine makes 100 bhp power. You will have a lot of fun driving on highway.
6) Fuel Economy : If you know how to drive properly, you can get 25 kmpl easily. Having said that, people on YouTube go for Fuel economy marathon and pull out more than 35 kmpl mileage on this bad boy.
7) Stereo System : Freestyle and Tigor have almost same quality stereo system. So yeah, you can go boom boom on highways.
8) Miscellaneous Features : 1 twelve volts output and 2 USB and totally 9 cup holders.
9) Air conditioning : The air conditioning system is very powerful and cools the cabin in seconds.
10) Rear View Camera with Sensors : The Camera quality is excellent and comes with fixed guidelines, and back sensor indicators.
11) Functioning Roof Rails : These are not only fancy looking roof rails. You can load them up-to 50 Kgs.
12) Automatic Headlamps
13) Speed sensing door locks
14) Rain sensing wipers
15) Rear defogger and wiper with spray
16) 190 mm Ground clearance : This is the best feature of this hatchback.
17) Back seat comfort : Unlike other hatchbacks in market, 3 people can easily sit in the back.
Con's
By the way I am nitpicking here. The Pro's of this car far far outweigh the con's. It may be possible that I am expecting too much from a 10 Lakhs car.
1) No dead pedal for your foot.
2) No Projector Headlamps.
3) No LED DRLs.
4) No grab handles on the sides.
5) No leather upholstery. Even if you want to put it on yourself, you will have to compromise on 2 side bolster airbags.
6) No middle armrest for front driver
7) No middle armrest with cup-holders for rear passengers
8) No door side bottle holders for rear passengers
9) No headrest for middle passenger in the rear
10) No 3 point seat belt for middle passenger in the rear
11) No rear AC vents
12) No 60 : 40 split for your luggage.
12) Small boot for your luggage
13) No Child seat anchor points
14) No adaptive guidelines on rear view camera
15) No Automatic Transmission Option
16) A little hard and deep clutch
17) No tilt and telescopic steering
Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I am not sure if my review completely helps anyone anymore, unless someone is buying a used car. I saw that some of the premium features of this car like Sync 3 system was removed from BS6 lineup. Still it is the best hatchback in Indian market right now within 9 lakhs bracket.

Living with Ford
Was planning to buy a new car so started to search cars randomly in youtube and i saw this ford freestyle in an off-road performance video and got impressed with its dynamics. Then decided to buy it. Its been a year since i got this vehicle and drived about 15000 kilometer and stil enjoying the performance of the ford engine. Its stable and comfortable steering makes it more enjoyable in high way drive. It look more similar like an updated figo rather than a new model. But with its suv claddings it looks great. Completed my 1st service at 10000 km and its was a below 2000rs i feel its less when compared with other brands its pocket freindly when it comes to regular periodic servicing.
The plastic quality is worst, the door plastic makes noise when resting hand in it and boot space is less when compared with its competitive cars. It produces a huge amount of black smoke at sudden acceleration.
The most peppy engine too drive and the gear box is nice to shift. Love to drive it daily. Stable at corners and its surely a self-driven car to enjoy.
