      Hi guyz,

I've posted my detailed review on

      http://www.carwale.com/forums/ViewThread-18252.html

      pics of the Car

      http://www.carwale.com/community/photos/ViewAlbumPhotos.aspx?AlbumId=1651&userId=57051836862011

First pic shows the clear difference of Cost of maintanance between Figo, Swift & Indica

Here is the some of details with Accessories-List. To answer your FAQs for Figo Lovers:

1)should i go for insurance from the ford dealer or should i take it seperately (if possible)

Ans: I got it from ICICI Lombard (11K) incuding 2Lacs co-passenger's coverage. Dealer's insurance will be costlier anyway. All that you need to check is that whether the cashless garage is in your city or not. I found ICICI Lombard is the best option out of all. (Cost Wise and service wise). Dealer was offering insurance from Bajaj Allianz

      2) what accessories we need to purchase other than what is aviaable inbuilt(if i go for ZXI model).I need to budget if anything else is required.

      Ans: I've taken

a.Car-Body Cover (1600) --- I thought I can't get right body cover for Figo, as its new. But stilll you can get it cheaper. Iam not sure about quality. Ford is one is good.

      b. Puncture-Kit ( 1200) and ---- This is not required. You can get same kit for 500/- outside.

      c. Neck-rests, Pillows & Seat-Belt pads for 1200 --- If you want "FIGO" name on all these items, get them from dealer

      d. Seat-Covers -- 3300. Mandatory. I got them outside. Ford's cost is 8000.

      e. Sun Film --- 3500. After registration. I got them outside.Better you get this from Ford. It requires dismantling of all Doors. I'am having problem with rear window glass, which seems to be not fit properly. Bcoz they did it in hurry. Better you get this from Ford itself.

Other than these you may not need anything necessary. Alloy-Wheels could be one option, but costs around 19K.

I have recently bought Figo EXi TDCi from Delhi Ford last Wednesday (23.03.2011). The dealership & its representatives are good. I have already driven the vehicle for about 350 Kms. No major hindrances. Everybody who drove this car found it impressive in such a price tag. The only drawback in the car is its tyres which I felt are not up to the mark. While driving, the car drifts toward the left side. I have got the air pressure checked. Still no change.

I did a little research on the internet. Found that Figo's equipped with Apollo Accelere Tyres are complained about a lot. I myself felt that while driving at any speed, car tends to go left.

As per the expert reviews that I have consulted and checked online, everyone has recommended MRF ZVTS. I will also get in touch with the dealership and get them replaced before it’s too late. Will keep all of you updated about the latest happenings.

      Updating my review:

I have driven Figo for 11800 kms, getting mileage of approx 17.8 Km/l (inclusive of City driving 50%). One problem faced last month, power steering fluid leakage from the axle assembly. Ford replaced it under warranty during second service.

Exterior I like the exterior. Looks updated if not the latest. Even i liked the rear of Ford Fusion. So good to have it in Figo.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiar is the best in comfort. Powerful AC- I have travelled 750 km, never feel to increase AC to 2nd mode even. seats give good support to thighs. Car is full of space. In Titanium model, Features like Music system with blutooth handsfree is a real class. Electronically controlled outside mirrors, Defogger, Rear wiper are useful.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I has Wagon-R earlier. But telling you a fact, pick up of car is really amazing considering a diesel car with 69 PS@4000 rpm. At 2nd or 3rd gear theare is no tubo lag at all. Car is accelerating as you switch to higher gear without pressing much of accelerator. I have travelled approx 750 kms @ 16.5 km/l with 80% time AC on. 1st service is still far away.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality & handling is excellent. I love the way car rips through highway. City driving is also very comfortable. Steering is also well weighted. Not as light as in Maruti but still you still light enough to control. Gear movement is short and smooth. Drive is very good, feels like sitting ia a high end car.

Yes there is scrapping of chasis when car is loaded (above 4 passenger). I observed it once. To avoid it, i think, best is to drive slow over bumps. Nothing much we can do. Also we need to accept it considering the other benefits (price package with features)

Final Words I selected Figo out of Figo, Polo, Punto, Ritz, Fabia because of following things:

      • Good pricing! Top model with all features is affordable. otherwise I don't want to have polo/ Punto base model with no features.
      • I have heard that there is a problem of chasis scrapping at bumps. I even observed it once while driving with 4 passengers. But we are only three in family, Hence, no overloading so no issue for me.  I haven't felt scrapping till now except once (driven with 2/3 passengers in car). Also i have opted for Alloy wheel so may be that helps.
      • Good Mileage. Better than Polo, Skoda Fabia or punto. Approx 2.5 Rs/km as compared to over 5 Rs / km for any petrol car.
      • All safety features i.e. ABS & Airbag. Therefore protection for myself and my family.
      • I have compared the accessories prices/ service cost as compared to Maruti. rates are equivalent. so I hope Ford is improving on it & future services cost will go down.

Above all real fun to drive which I feel now when i am driving.

Areas of improvement I would say rear power window & better ground clearance will make it great.

Spacious, Good Mileage, All key features in top end.Rear window- manual, Bonnet opening lever on left fron passenger side

I went with the purchasing this car after extensive survey. I compared maximum of the available cars on their specifications on paper and ground. I also compare how these cars may cater my needs, keeping my budget in mind but flexibly. It is nearly 8 months are passed since I have this car.

I travelled more than 7000kms, 2 tours of about 500kms each, and one long tour of more than 2200kms, more than 700kms travelled within 12 hours twice.

I had faced almost no complaint till date about, noise, rattling, faults & failure, paint, instrument malfunction, etc. Couple of complaints I registered to the service centre and get rectified are actually very miner and ignorable. One complaint which is not completely resolved is left pulling, (still there is very slight pulling), but I found cars from other manufacturers also show this tendency on the same road on same speed range. So, just ignored it. One more problem, my car tyres got frequent punctures initially.  But now, no problem at all. Need to take care of air pressure quite ritually. It will also eliminate the doubts in mind about ground clearance.  Any way we need not worry about GC as there is very good solid steel protection provided below and some coating is also there.

My figo just scrapped 2-3 times, but the bumps were actually demanding for this from any car, and my figo was fully loaded.

I was worried about mileage initially as the car delivered just 8-9 kmpl for first two fuelings. But it increased with time and practice without frustration. And even well before the first servicing I started getting better mileage.  Present fuel economy figures are varying between 11 and 14. I am happy and satisfied with this car.  Car serving my all practical needs on practically reasonable charges - fuel and servicing!!

Exterior Look of the car is sober but fairly smart. Color choices are good. The Shapes of head lamps, tail lamps and tail gate is again fairly impressive. Positions of tail lamps and hazard lamps are so perfect (my openion) that vehicle behind you can immediately get noticed of your actions like braking, turning.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quality of interiors is good. Space at front and rear is excellent. Headroom is adequate but could have been more. Seats are much comfortable, specious than the competitors but lumber support should have been better. More cup and bottle holders are must. Rear power windows…?? But it’s ok. Rear windows open partially but even then car feels airy and roomy from all positions. Rear head rests would be a big plus on long journey.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gear box is smooth and precise. Power steering is also well responsive and perfectly maneuverable. While discussing about the engine performance one should take note of one big point is that “this car should not be driven like the other cars in this segment and should not expect the same response as by other car’s engines”. Mileage is little bit on lower side. But as I compared this with other cars in practical conditions, I found the difference is just 1-3 kmpl without AC and 2-3 kmpl with AC.

Ride Quality & Handling Simply excellent! Just couple of other cars in this segment can match. Fun to drive.

Final Words This is really a good vehicle to own and enjoy it’s driving. Value for money car.

Areas of improvement More power from engine is expected by enthusiasts. Better mileage. Rear seat folding 60-40 with easy and better folding mechanism, more cup and bottle holders, Automatic climate control, Remote fuel lid opening, More powerful headlamps, Rear power windows, etc will definitely increase the value of this car.

Ride & Handling, Interior and Boot Space, Sober but Impressive LookLittle low in mileage, Cup and bottle holders, Short on some needed features.

      Hi Friends,

I bought figo diesel on march 13th and till now completed 4800 kms and no cost for first service.

Exterior Nice but not feels luxurious when other cars like punto, i20 or polo in the crowd. if you want a tough image or luxury car image then buy punto, i20 or polo. this really makes other head turner. swift , beat, liva is out on the looks.

Figo looks is just simple, Like a breeze on eyes but will not make you feel rich or as a tougher guy.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Ford fogo Diesel is a success today and now they cut short some features from every models. example In EXI no audio system is available now when comparing to old models. not sure on other features.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is really smooth with no engine noise in cabin when the car is running with 2 or 3 persons, at a speed of 90 to 100. but when it is fully loaded(ie) 5 persons, figo feels that it needs more power when pressing the accelator and engine noise is more when going at 90 kmph.

Fuel Economy: i am getting 19, 20 or more on highways without frequent gear shift and running at a speed of 60 to 70, without all time AC and with 2 or 3 persons in the car. but when fully loaded or with all time AC or when driving in City, we can find the sudden fall of mileage, may be getting only 12 or 13, but may varies from driver to driver but not sure.

Gear box is a GEM. i am enjoying the gear shift.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality and handling, In Figo we can see the front vision clearly when comparing to other cars like swift, punto, polo, so we can enjoy the ride with more confidence. People who are living in the hill stations prefer ford figo as it is easy to handle, easy on curves because of its clear road vision.

Final Words This car is good to buy when our budget is low or feels to buy a perfect family car. till then i am happy owner of ford figo but needs to wait till it crosses more and more kilometers.

Exellent boot space matching with liva, vista or i20

Exellent rear space matching with liva, vista or i20

      Areas of improvement

Ground Clearance - Hit 3 times when fully loaded but this is not a big issue as it just hit the underbody hard plastic covering.

Needs to increase the height of the car as same as ford fusion, it is because even if the car is long and spacious we cant feel that it is a big car at the first sight due to its low height.

so If they redesign the body (just increase the height of the body), then thay can fold the rear windows fully and can add power windows at the rear. (now there is no space for the rear windows to go down fully due to its small body design).

Front Look, Driving Position, Nice Gear shiftGround Clearance, Lack of Power when fully loaded, mileage in city as well as with AC

Exterior Good looking and tall tail lights add to the beauty. Looks like a low planted SUV, Blackened head lights feel not so good, Grill and triangular airdam excellent, Feels planted.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nice Silver ascents. Feature rich for the money. Black interior look classic and more upmarket, Door pads and pannels not up to the mark, Good feature list but no rear power windows and only 60% openable rear window, Supportive seats both front and back, Good ride comfort, though the tyre noise heard inside. Controls placed awckward.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Descent motor, not great. Needs more punch. It doen't pull sharp down the rpm, Once u push hard it pulls nice. AC on and all 5 on board, begs for more horses, especially in 3rd gear at low rpms no descent pull is felt (worser than a Santro) Good gear box mated to 5 speed motor. Descent fuel economy, performance figures larger than expected(0-100 takes a long). Need a desperite improvement. A better power and torquey motor only will do the job here.

Ride Quality & Handling Rides well, good suspension tuned and balanced for handling as well. Push to corners with confidence, remain rock solid, High grip and road prescence felt, Descent braking too. Motor doen't even try to question the solid chassis, Its built superbly.

Final Words Good allrounder from ford. Could do better with a nicer engine. Engine doen't do any justice to its superbly built body. Even though, a good value for money family hatch.

Areas of improvement  A strong body got a wrong motor. First and very first the engine to be upgraded, and increase a little the height of the vehicle for easy ingress and egrss. Ford, Do that and a competitive pricing proportional to the current will see sales sky rocketing.

features, ride and handling, an enormous bootpower, height

Exterior The exterior is immaculately styled for a B-segment hatchback. Looks like a sedan from the front. The rear gives the feeling of a SUV. Good that it looks heavy on the road. The only thing I would like to mention is the inappropriate ground clearance. The bumps on Indian roads are very high, and with full load (5 passengers) in the vehicle, it is bound to hit the bumps at the bottom.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dashboard is unique with its coral red colour, although many would not like it. I specially instructed for the red one. The reflection of the dashboard on the windscreen was about zero for the red one, although the black one did seem to reflect. The other interior features are excellent. The sound system is fantastic, and the added bluetooth feature adds spice to it.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Without A.C. -- the pick-up is excellent, and the gradient of pick-up is smooth. Fuel economy, though needs a relook. No hassles as such with the gear box. However, with the A.C. on, the pick-up seems to slow down a bit.

Ride Quality & Handling The ride is very smooth, especially the city handling, with the steering height at a perfect level, at least for a person like me.

Final Words I had set my limit as 5 lacs, and I could not have got a better value for monay car than the FIGO. Its excellent. Go for it guys!!!

Areas of improvement  Ground clearance, fuel economy, pick-up with A.C. on.

Exterior Bought a white Figo and it really looks figo (cool). It sure is not striking in its looks, but with ambiance and practicality in mind, this is the best package available. And also is pleasing on the eye. Looks good in white. Figo white is better than any white available.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Features: Its got everything minus the plush feel of a Polo/i20. But this too has got a feel of its own Better than the Maruthis (Ritz and Swift). The gear knob silver finish, bottle holders, handbrake feel are nice. Seat height adjust is a dream feature. You simply sit on the floor of the vehicle when you drive on highways and gobble up miles with ease. Ambience is very good. Reversing the car is also easy with the outside view.

Reversed wiper and indicator sticks could have been avoided, but once you get used to them, this should not be difficult. Co-passenger can feel the gear shift if he/she has his/her legs rested on the middle panel. The plastic used here could have been different. There is ample space for 3 adults in the back with enough leg room at the rear. No compromises here. Boot is also a big plus. These are all standard. Read this space elsewhere.

Comfort: Rear seats have good under-thigh support unlike the Maruthis. Should be good for long drives with 4 passengers. No complaints from the rear benchers.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance: Easily beaten by competition. With AC, Maruthis perform better. So does i20. But there should be no complaints on your Figo. Once it gets to 1800 RPM, power kicks in. And it is fun to drive. Performance wise, it beats the Punto 1.2 and matches the beat/Polo/Micra. Maruthis fare better here.

Fuel economy is standard. I have only driven it for 800 Kms. It has returned to around 13.5 Kmpl average. 14.5 on the highways. City not calculated. This has got 175 rubber. More than any car in this segment. This probably eats up some of the mileage. This should improve post first service. But no car might beat the value for money here as this package comes quite cheap up front.

Gearbox is excellent. Could compare with the i20. Way better than the Punto/Micra.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is the best (Probably the heaviest cars of them all, the Punto could match with this). Bad roads dont hustle this a bit. Maruthis cant even come close.

Handling: Again the best. 175 rubber is doing its job. Hydraulic power steering (Only available on the Jazz and Figo) makes city driving a breeze. Tight reversing also is the best. Low stance and wide rubber also helps on highways. Did somebody say Ford cars are the best handling cars in India? They are right.

      Final Words I am pleased.

Ford have improved their localization. Spares are cheaper than Maruthi (They claim). So has overall cost reduced. They have the best package considering the price and also not considering the price.

Areas of improvement They can bring a newer version of a 1.2 engine to beat the Maruthis in their game.

Great handling, cool design, space, feel, comfort, feature list, pricemileage, outright power

Exterior When I want to upgrade my existing car (Indica Zeta Petrol, I am a die-hard TATA fan with Indian car inclination, my past cars also from TATA) and looking for not so sporty, and at the same time look fashionable, I converged to FIGO due to its external appeal, particularly rear side. Front is not so sharp, but OK.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) This area is the best in its segment or class. All features are rich, some not even found in high end sedans!

      1. I fell flat for the bluetooth feature. Excellant quality. I feel,  Indian Govt. should make it a must for all Cars in view of safety measures.

      2. Next comes Built-in Radio-FM-MP3-CD player with rear speakers buil-in rear doors, which is a unique in hatchbacks. Audio output quality is crystal clear and sharp.

      3. Enough Boot space, amazing in a hatchback !

      4. Rear wiper, Electrically operated Outside Rear View Mirror, Remote Boot open, Defogger, Keyless entry, Immobilizer, Tubeless tyres, foldable handle with coat hook, radio antenna, driver seat height adjustment...the list goes on

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox When I test drive, I felt they might have brought Petrol Car !! Smooth, noise less performance except you shift gears suddenly. I had both petrol and diesel cars previously. So far I drove 600 KM that too in city. It gave me 15KMPL. But other FIGO friends saying that they are getting 20-22KMPL. Smooth gear box.

Ride Quality & Handling Really enjoying every bit and minute of FIGO drive. Sometime creating works to take out FIGO!!

Final Words Not just value, More value for money!!

Areas of improvement Front Look(similar to all other fords) can be still sharper and stylish !!

      Exterior

The car looks decent exteriorly, with a sporty touch. But the thing is the front grill has looks that may make you remember the i20. Otherwise it is good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Great interiors and spacious enough ( maybe they learnt it from Tata, I dont know) but it feels great you can stretch fully. It can easily accomodate 5 persons (can sqeeze in more also). AC is decent. and more leg room. Great storage space. Lots of small thing are taken care.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Engine should be good, cause Ford has a reputation. I didnt test the fuel economy but they said it can give upto 22-23 kmpl on diesel (highway). Gearbox couldhave been more smoother. But it is fine.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Ride quality is great. But I am still not sure if it can be taken to long tours.

Handeling is very good. it is best in its class.

      Final Words

Best Value for money car. you can always go for it. very impressive interiors. best performance in its class. Petrol version is more smoother. but diesel version is not any less smoother. it is available, and you can always go for it.

      Areas of improvement

       Height should wave been more.

Ride quality is smooth, but then even Tata Vista is more smoother. so..

looks somewhat like i20 from front. so can we have a different look?
