Volvo might cease using the S80 moniker, as reports suggest that the successor to Volvo’s popular premium saloon will be christened as the S90. Based on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, the Volvo S90 is expected to make its global debut by the end of this year, and will go on sale in international markets in early 2016.

Although there is quite some time before the all-new Volvo S90 gets a green light for production, Auto Express has released an exclusive image, showing how the Swedish automaker’s new mid-size luxury sedan could look like.

Swedish luxury car maker Volvo is optimistic about the Indian market; the company wants to achieve a target of 10,000 units by 2018. Although, this figure has been achieved by its rivals, it is still a 10-fold rise in terms of sales for the carmaker that sold 936 cars in 2013.

Volvo has taken the covers off not one but three exciting new concept models in recent times. First up was the Concept C coupe which was shown in August last year and following it was the XC coupe shown earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show.
