Bought Vento diesel in the year 2014. The car is sturdy, high in power, good road grip, strong in terms of body etc. However, from day one, I faced the issue of hard clutch and when reported was told that vento' s clutch in general is hard. This was told by the service centre as well as the showroom in Navi Mumbai that is Autobhan.
At the time of first check up at 7500 kilometres approximately, the brake pad and brake discs were detected as damaged. The issue was escalated and the company accepted the defect and a free replacement was offered.
Again coming back to the clutch issue, the complaint was noted by the service center and at 42000 kms I was communicated that the clutch is detected absolutely fine. At, 49,000 kms, the car had gone for repair and again the clutch issue was raised by us and got the standard reply that clutch is alright. Next day, I told the advisor that I want the answer in mail. I did not get any mail and was communicated that the clutch is completely worn out. So, as per company' s record at 42,000 kms the clutch was absolutely fine and at 49,000 kms the clutch was completely worn out which is impossible with the same driver driving the vehicle. I have Toyota Innova which has run 1.8 lakh kms driven by the same driver without any clutch issue. Total expenditure for clutch of vento INR 45,000.
Now, at 60,000 kms, there was some car heating issue and at the service center it was detected that the water bag seems to be leaking and needs to be changed. And, if water bag is changed, Timing belt along with other things also need to be replaced though it cannot be detected that timing belt is worn out or not. Total expenditure INR 24,000.
To add to it there is issue of car wobbling and engine noise during pick up which can be noticed by anyone who drives the car but the service center people cannot notice it which is surprising.
The issue has been escalated everywhere but no response and people give automated answers like a computer system. I plan to sell the vehicle and never buy VW vehicle again in my life. Those who are buying this be aware that it is very high maintenance car.
Volkswagen has committed a big scam in USA fir which it has been penalised billions of dollars. The scam was putting cheat codes to reduce the emission levels during the tests conducted by government agencies so that the poor quality vehicle is approved. This is what I could understand.

Even though the vehicle is ok, the after sales service is pathetic. I purchased my Vento on 24th Dec'15 and now recently I came to know that they have shown the delivery date as 31st Aug'15. Nobody listened to me even after producing all the proof and denied warranty by their service dealer Automark, Mathura Road, Delhi. I left my vehicle for one day there so that they can check and rectify the system and give me warranty but they did not and forced me to pay the money. After I submitted negative reviews, now they are sending me mails for settlement.
Volkwagen systmes are so bad that a vehicle delivered in Dec can be entered as delivered in Aug. Company did not even know that the vehicle was standing for 4 months with dealer or are they fudging delivery / invoicing data. God knows how many customers they would have fooled like this and denied warranty. I am not sure whether they had given me the new vehicle or this vehicle was delivered to somebody in Aug and returned due to some failure and then they again delivered it to me in Dec. I sent an email to the company and there is no response instead the service dealer is only communicating on their behalf. I am taking this case to Consumer Forum and will put everybody to justice.

I have bought the Volkswagen vento in 2013 and it have done 125000 in just 4 years 6 months and didn’t changed the clutch and timing belt (going to change it in the next service) I was very much impressed with my car, it is vary solid, driving experience was excellent it is very stable in high speeds (160kmph) and easily can go up to 180kmph and no car (ciaz,Verna, city) offer the built quality like vento.
The cabin was so silent even though the engine noise is loud. The turbo charger is FABULOUS just put it into the top gear and leave the clutch and accelerater and without accelerating it goes (with the help of turbocharger) and if you drive like this the mileage will get around 25kmpl. The interior is also excellent and it is very strong and the boot space is also good. The rear seat offers very much comfort (also I slept in the rear seat) and it has rear arm rest.
Suspension and brakes also very good, vet easy to go from patches on the road. ABS is FABULOUS. This car is very good for touring, I drove this car from Chennai to Hyderabad Non stop and reaches hyderabad in 10hrs

It am really proud to be the owner of Volkswagen Vento. I am very satisfied with the car performance, the built quality and riding experience.
But when it comes to the service and maintenance its really disappointing. All the parts are very costly and we dont find any other option than replacement. When it comes to a severe damage to the vehicle its better to buy a new car than maintaining it.
Struggling to get buyers for a used car will get only half of the price in 5 years of depreciation. If you have enough money to maintain and service its a good option. So think twice before taking a decision.
