I bought a Petrol Vento 2.5 years back. I was happy to own a Vento in the beginning. Dear friends, I really understand now that I made a totally bad decision :-(.
To tell you an incident, I had a minor accident two months back, one of the doors got damaged. Another door and a back panel had minor issues. When I went to the showroom, they told both doors and back panel need to be replaced, and gave an estimate of 80,000 Rs. Believe me, I got my car back only after 2 months, and thats too with multiple escalation emails and calls to their Mumbai office, and with a whopping bill of more than 1,12,000 Rs. Reason that they told is, they had to order all spareparts, and it took more than a month to reach the service center. One sparepart is yet to be arrived.
More than the money, I felt shaken by the attitude of those guys !!
So my advice, go for this brand only if you have pocket full of money for after-sales service, and you have enough backup options in case of a service repair, or spareparts change...

Exterior Good exterior . But not compareble to soem of the competive Brands . It should have been classy for this Brand.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very very poor . Front dash board is not designed properly. Whole space is wasted. No place to keep your papers, Mobile, and oteh rbelongings. Only one chelf provided for keeping things. Bottle space is very poorly desinged. No place provided for Mobile etc. Rear View from both side mirror and centeral mirroe is very poor.
Rear Window glasses control is not available with driver . Rear window glasses doesn't go fully down , which is veyr bad.
Front Glass cleaing wiper can't be lifted easily. which was simplest of all, Interiors doesn't meet expectations of WV brand, it is very very porr quality. Space utilization is veyr poor.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good. Fuel Economy is poor.
Ride Quality & Handling Good.
Final Words Not meeting Brand expectaations. Interiors are very poor. Even Basic Features are missing. Expect thet at least basic features must be activated in our Car.
Engine perfromance is goodBad interiors , Very poor control systems . No drive rseat adjustment .Exterior/Styles

Exterior The vento has very elegant exteriors. From far it might look like any other sedan, but when viewed closely every part of the car seems to be very well thought out when designing. The exteriors are neither too dull nor too loud/aggressive ... "elegant" is probably the right word.
Also the car gives a very solid feel ... lives upto the reputation of German cars.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car is very spacious - a spacious boot space and spacious rear seats. I got the original vento brown seat covers which really give the interiors an uplift ... would strongly recommend those for anyone who buys a vento, it gives the car an almost all leather type feel.
The A/C for the rear seats is awesome, I haven't seen it in any car of this segment. Also, I love the armrest ... driving this car is a pleasure. The controls on the drivers seat do seem a little simple ... but I don't mind that given all the other things it has to offer.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox It has been almost a month since I got the car, I believe it is giving me around 13.5 kmpl (trendline petrol) which is awesome ... My monthly budget on fuel is pretty much the same when I compare with the esteem (2002) model that I had earlier.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is awesome ... to the degree that i don't feel like taking any call when I am riding my vento. The engine hardly makes any noise (inside or outside) ... a little bit when accelerating. The ride is very smooth especially when you have one hand on the armrest :-) I am enjoying every moment that I drive this car.
Final Words "The" car for mid sedan segment entering into the luxury sedan arena. I got mine at 7.75L on-road from Volkswagen Gurgaon. For this price ... I think the car is a steal. There are so many people that have stopped me to ask about the vento (thanks to volkswagen's strong marketing) ... it really is one of those cars that gives people something to talk about :-)
Areas of improvement Not much really ... maybe the driver controls / dashboard could be a little more flashy, other than that ... all is well.

Company Warranty - I have booked the car on 31st Mar 2011, however I took the delivery on 21st April 2011. Any thing you purchased from market, Warranty should start from day of Delivery, However as per VW policy Warranty starts from day of booking.
in VW Vento, A/c vents are of worst quality, I have already replaced them twice and whenever I took that in service centre to replace It always took 2-3 weeks as the part is never available with garriage.
This time also I called the service center and request to arrange the new AC vent for replacement, I was advised to wait for 1 week. Now this week when I took my car at service center, they are saying car's warranty has expired 4 days back as my car's booking date was 31st March 2011. I tried to convince that delivery date is 21st April 2011 so my 2 years company's warranty ideally should be till 210th Apr 2013. But then Service Manager of Tornado Motors' Andheri (E), Mr Amit, he was like dumb terminal, was giving only one answer Nothing can be done, what ever I was trying to tell him, he had only one answer, Nothing can be done, Nothing can be done.
i would like to warn all the VW Vento aspirer, Car is good, but it's kind of white elephant, small small parts cost you bomb. My car is just 2 years old & driven hardly 15,000 KM, still in this service my Bill was more than Rs. 25,000/- for replacing petty things.
There are no free services offered by Volks Wagen, and for every service you should be ready to light your pocket by 25K to 30K, unfortunately if you actually damaged your car then bill may shoot up even more than Rs. 1lac. Just plastic wheel cover for any other car you get for Rs. 100-Rs. 200 for Volks Wagen cost is Rs. 1200/- for one wheel.

Exterior Exterior of this car are not so good. especially the rear looks. rest all is fine. Front is Ok.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are not as expected by a best German Manufacturer, but still have some class in them. Arm rest in between the two front seats and and rear AC vent is something which has impressed a lil.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Performance is not as expected, especially the Pick up. The lag in the pick up is very disappointing.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is nice. No complaints.
Final Words Overall a good buy considering its brand name, and its price tag but could have been much better. Can be compared to Honda City but cannot be better than that. City always will have an edge over it, in terms of Ride Quality, Engine Performance.
Areas of improvement Exterior Looks and Pick up are the major areas of concern. Fuel Economy is good, but pick up again has disappointed. Will suggest everybody who is going for it, to have a test drive, and buy only if it appeals to them.

Exterior The look of the car is extremly good. This looks a very smart car and the press lines give it a magnificient look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dual tone interiors are quiet pleasent. The steering wheel design too looks good. The space utilization though is not proper.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The pickup for a 1.6L engine is rather low. The car does not kicks off on pushing the pedal. The pick up comes only after a few seconds. Fuel economy is poor, ranging from 8 kms in city to 15 kms on highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good, the suspensions are a little hard. The steering handling is extremly good. The steering is very sensitive and very light.
Final Words The dealer though projects a waiting time of 3 months, but you will realise upon booking that you can get the delivery in 10 days also. I suppose they want to keep up the hype that they are over booked.
I bought my car in November and have driven the car for almost 5000 kms. Since day one there has been one or the other problem in the car. Starting from Power windows getting stuck, either driver side or pillion side, to rattling sound from the rear tray and doors. I have been visiting the service workshop almost once in 15 days. This is pathetic considering the brand VW. I never expected the car doors to start ratelling after 1000 kms. The service staff say that they have observed this problem in other cars too and do not have a solution yet. Every time I go to them, they tighten some screws which only reduces the sound for a few days and the rattling keeps coming back. The rear tray rattling has no solution except padding it with foam which slips every now and then to bring back the irritating sound in the cabin. The power windows still get stuck some times but the guys have no permanent solution. I do not know what will happen after 15-20000 kms of running if the new car has so many problems.
Surely, the quality of car is not value for money.
Areas of improvement Doors do not get locked from inside and any one can mistakenly open the doors during running causing serious harm. Even a low end car has this option of door lock, then why not a VW Sedan. Over all quality of fittings needs to be improved.

Exterior Simple, yet trendy.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Super cool arm rest with storage space. Seating is good as well, though there is no height-adjustment possible for the seats. Rear seats have large leg space. Boot space is good too. You must see how the boot is organized. The extra tire is packed with solid thermocol cushions making it vibration free. VW quality!
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is superlative. Gears shift very smothly.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is supreme. Better than that of Honda City (I drove a City for 4 years, before VW Vento). Ground clearance is good. Engine noise is just absent. Sometimes, you would not even know that the car's ignition is on. Stereo system is very good. The car runs well both within the city, as well as on highways.
Final Words Go for it guys! It is a certain value for money.
Areas of improvement Could be more feature packed for the segment it is in.

Exterior Nothing much. It is a plain looking car. The dealers would tell you that it is much easier to repair if there are any dents. Do not buy that arugment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Hardly any features worth name. For a car of this price, there are hardly any features. Even the sound system that is provided, does not have a remote. I doubt what a passenger sitting in the rear seat would do - listen to songs of choice of his driver.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very poor mileage. Petrol version simply guzzles fuel. Impossible to run it on a daily basis. Simply consumes too much fuel. It is too costly a car to run. Mileage even after running 5000 kilometers does not improve. They promise 11-12 in city driving. However, it never gives this mileage. People should consider themselves lucky if they can get a mileage of 9 kmpl in city driving.
Ride Quality & Handling Body noise, engine mounting noise, starting noise like an auto. The entire car shakes while taking a sharp turn. Starting noise in very high.
Final Words Avoid.
Areas of improvement As indicated above. VW seems to have thought that they can sell any kind of car in India. However, with competition hotting up, they will soon realise that they were sadly mistaken. Most of cars sold are a result of mis-selling.

Exterior Sideview and back side side of the vehicle is splendid. Rear Spoiler is great.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good leg space in back, Good leather works, I got a wonderful audio system. Little bit difficulty with front arm rest in city drive.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Perfect gear box, fuel economy not yet tested Engine seems to be very powerful.
Ride Quality & Handling Very good driving experiance, great ride and comfort.
Final Words When I took the vehicle I was not sure to ride the car comfortablely in my City, Trivandrum. But when I starts driving the car, all my doubghts vanished. Very good control and handling.
Areas of improvement Front light can be made better and looks different than POLO.
Showroom executives are very good knowlegde on vehicle. Expain all most every thing. I dont Know about the servicing. I went to the show room to fix the number board and waited for two hours. But I am happy to hear that My firsy service only due after 15000 Km/ one year. Thank you Volks wagan.

Exterior Very Good looking n Stylish.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors "feel" good, but then features like the driver not having the ability to control the power windows on the rear?
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Have just test driven it for a short distance(in a multicar showroom) bcoz the VW dealer dint manage or should I say bother to organise one!!
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent, the pick up n power , vis-a-vis an SX4 which I have zeroed down as the other car of choice.
Final Words Very concerned abt VW after sales. In fact, I have zeroed down on buying a Vento Diesl - but even their Pre sales, sucks!!
Maan, they just dont bother about the customer enquiries - I have been 'chasing' them on having a test drive done(in Mum/Navi Mum). The best part is u enquire, and then u yourself have to call back to enquire again -_ the sales team is just not bothered abt selling their ware - are they overbooked??? I dont knw - such an indifferent attitude, and this is true of not just 1 but two of their dealers - am left wondering as to just what is causing them to be so sluggish! Am looking at SX4 as the other car that I could purchase, but the waiting period is at least 45days!
Areas of improvement Basis various reviews that I have read, after sales n dealer response is a problem - n I have faced this even before I have bought this car - am very very sceptical now!!
Also, the inegrated music system allows only for USB - so all the MP3,CDs that you might have bought cannot be played or will have to be copied into a USB which is time consuming!
