Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Buying a car for 11 Lakhs which does not have rear power window controls in the front is really ridiculous. For the same price, Hyundai Verna is packed with features including electrically folding mirrors, rear view camera, auto a/c, music system with steering mounted controls, ABS, Airbags, Keyless Entry, four wheel disc brakes, alloy wheels and a much powerful engine. When compared with Fluidic Verna, Vento Trendline costing a little less than the SX version can be rated only a big zero out of hundred. You can hear the door beadings squeeking and creeking when you drive on bumpy roads. When I complained about this to the dealer, he sprayed a white colored sealant on the beading and the noise was arrested temporarirly, but within two days the noise will again come.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine performance is very inconsistent, it is good some times and bad most of the times. Very cluttery and noisy engine. Fuel economy on my Vento TDI Trendline was very less at 10 kmpl. I reported this problem right from the beginning and the dealership in Coimbatore just told me that they have updated the software and the vehicle will be good from then. But........nothing has improved so far. There is also a wierd clicking noise during morning starts which fades out after two or three minutes. The dealership is still not able to find out the reason for that.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is OK. Handling is very good.
Final Words
I bought the Vento expecting so much from the German car giant. But to my disappointment, the car is not worth the money I paid. The car has visited the service station more than 15 times within the last two years and I didnt get any permanent solution for any of the problems posted here so far. I SHOULD HAVE GONE IN FOR SOME OTHER VEHICLE AND IT WAS A GREAT MISTAKE TO HAVE SELECTED THE VENTO.
Areas of improvement
Vento engine, they said was specially developed for the India market. They should not have launched the car without a proper R&D done on the engine and they are releasing updates every month to fine tune the performance.
The rubbers in the doors need to be re-developed or the design needs to be looked into. It is squeaking and creeking very badly.
They should provide more convenience features like four door power window control on the driver side, electrcially adjustable mirrors and a trip computer in Trendline itself.
NothingPoor engine design, poor mileage, poor noise reduction planning, and more to add...
