Exterior Good looking car, looks like a real sedan and people on the road give a glance to the vehicle.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good space, good suspensions and overall a comfortable vehicle.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent engine, easily picks up high speed , a liitle bit of engine noise is heard in the cabin.
Ride Quality & Handling Excellent, sturdy and you feel like you are inside a heavy object.
Final Words Very good car for self driving.
Areas of improvement Dealer attitude must be really improved, the car delivered to me by PPS motors secunderabad had a scratch on the left front panel and was touched up before delivery. This was realised by me later during usage , and the same was agreed by the dealer representative later and this shows the unethical practice of the dealers, Whatever reputation VW has is being ruined by thes kind of unscrpulous dealers. Nobody will expect a brand new car to be inspected before delivery for scratches/damages. I have bought a couple of cars earlier, but never i had this kind of problem with dealers.

Exterior Personally, I find the exterior quite good, though not as striking as a Honda City or a Hyundai Verna. It's simple and elegant with none of the looks screaming to get your attention, and I like that about the car. The body is well built and can easily be felt just by opening the door and realizing the solidity. Makes you feel safe inside. Paking sensors are helpful and fog lights decent enough, though I dont use them often. Ground clearance is okay but there's a thud sound when you go over a speed bump. Maybe its the spare tyre that's not placed properly in the boot. Ample boot space.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are well laid out, and the look and feel of the cabin is soothing to the eyes; not flashy. The contrasting grey and beige interiors gives a sort of premium feel and I like that about the car. The first thing that I noticed while taking the test drive was the immense space in the cabin and ample leg and head room. I am 6 ft tall and have no issues while driving at all in either of these areas. I wont say the same about the features though. The multi-media panel in the front seems a bit buggy and you have to keep pressing a button to view the desired metric (kmpl, digital speedometer, etc). Would be nice to view them all at once instead of fiddling with the buttons. Frills in the interiors are okayish - cupholders, glovebox, mirror inside the sun-block, etc are all fine. Two areas of concern: (1) the music system provided in the car is sub-standard, though the speaker syatem is amazing. The display doesnt show the song being played through a CD and doesnt have a bluetooth or USB support. Dislike that a lot. You have to either buy another system or be content with an FM transmitter costing ~Rs. 500. I use none. I hate the radio by the way (not the system but the radio stations in general). (2) Some of the fittings in the interiors feel cheap and make clicking sounds unbearable to the ear. For example, the platic at the sides of the horn is cheap and so is the panel with power window controls. The compartment between the front seats is made of really cheap plastic and wobbles when the car is being driven. It also obstructs smooth gear shift with your elbow hitting it every now and then. The seats on the other hand are comfortable. I got a deal where they threw in leather seat covers which match perfectly with the interiors. So all good on that front. Seats are forward and side adjustible manually, though electric control could have been offered at this price point.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine without doubt is a gem by German engineering. Great power and torque at this price point. The throttle response is great once the engine warms up but may seem a bit sluggish at lower gears (2nd and 3rd gear specifically). The noise from the engine is something you cant really ignore and might seems intrusive when you are listening to music or having a conversation. But mind you that this is an OEM engine (I've heard) and comes strainght from VW Germany and Europeans like noisy engines. Hope VW does something about that. Another point of concern is power-weight ratio. With solid built, they seem to have compromised the P-W ratio, but to tell you the truth, it doesnt really have that much of a difference. The ride quality is great and you enjoy everytime the throttle is rammed. The gearbox is smooth and accentuates the driving pleasure. There are no "jhatkas" when you change to a lower gear, but might have to bear that when changed from fourth to third. Fuel economy came as a surprise for me. I am getting 15-16 KMPL from my comfortline petrol. There are two reasons for that. First, I drive around 25-30 KM daily (hence the petrol variant) and most of it is the highway (NH-8) which helps in achieving a little better fuel economy. Secondly, I am obsessed with getting good mileage and tend to drive cautiously which means not exceeding 80 KMPH on the highway and trying my best to get to the fifth gear as soon as possible at low RMPs. Read CarWale's tips on this. Should be helpful.
Final Words Go for a highline Vento if you want the premium features like steering mounted controls, climate control, etc. I bought comfortline simply because of my budget and the 0% finance deal. The ride quality, etc are same in all petrol variants at least. The other issue which concerns me is the lack of safety features. They could have easily done away with parking sensors, fog lights, etc and installed ABS or air bags. Big disappointment there.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and hope for a long and lasting companiosnship with the Vento in the years to come. Happy driving!
Areas of improvement Quite a few actually:
Lose the cheap plastic; it looks and feels disgusting.
Blueooth/USB: either of them should be made standard.
Keyless entry is missing; again something which should be made standard (i think 2013 model has that as a standard offering).
1st service at 15000 KM should be minimised to around 5000 or 7500 KM.
ABS and air bags should be made standard in all variants; at least one of them should be.
Reasonably good looking, decent fuel economy, nice interiors, spacious, easy to drive, comfortable. Some parts of the interiors feel cheap, engine a tad noisy, music system disappoints, safety issues.Exterior/Styles

Exterior Generally Good...Right Wiper Arm cannot be lifted to clean windshield.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Eventhough Petrol but sounds like a diesel engine when started. Initially slow to respond.
Ride Quality & Handling Good.
Final Words Would like to caution existing /new buyers about a particular problem faced by me on 19/4/2013. Had parked(open) my car in front of our unit in our Industrial Estate at Cottongreen, Mumbai at about 1130 hrs. At the end of the day at about 1830 hrs when I was leaving for home I opened the rear door, placed my briefcase on the rear seat & shut the rear door, I found that the rear windshield just shattered. There was no question of any stone or any other object impacting on the windshield. Have lodged a warranty claim from Volkswagen because we feel that the glass was flawed & it shattered due to expansion during the day & contraction when I opened the rear car door.
Shaman Motors(service dealers) sent 2 technicians to the site on 20/4 at 1540 hrs. Where they took pics & examined the car. Then I was told to get the car to the service centre to check the Electrical System. I have deposited the car at the service centre today 22/4/13 at 1130 hrs. They have informed that it will take 4 - 5 days to get the car examined by experts & only if they find some electrical fault will they renew the glass under warranty. Any ways checked for availability of rear windshield & they informed me that it was not in stock & would take atleast 5 days to procure.
Areas of improvement To be customer friendly, improve spare parts inventory.

Exterior
Looks same as Polo from front. Vento must have a distinctive look and not mistaken for Polo.
The rear tail lights need more sleek looks as Honda City or Hyundai Verna has. They should make it similar to Jetta's tail lights.
The body is solid and sturdy.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Comfortable and simple interiors. Gives executive looks, which i liked compared to Verna and Honda-city. Driver Seat can be adjusted in height (up or down) in true meaning., unlike verna where upward lift is only from the front portion of the seat not whole seat moves up.
Rear seat is like sofa. The 3rd person can comfortably sit in center. In verna, the rear seat has uneven in middle. If a child wants to sleep on rear seat, Vento sofa is very comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Germans are good in diesel technloigy. Do not buy their petrol cars.
Till now the diesel engine is good and is giving around 15-18Km/L in city, and 19-23 Km/L on highways.
Ride Quality & Handling
Comfortable and sturdy.

Final Words
Very bad servicing by the Service Station for annual maintainance. Had a very bad experience twice. Last year and this year also. The car was not washed and even the interiors were spoilt but no effort made to rectify the mistake. Servicing team does not have courtesy to inform the delay in schedule to pick up the car. They do not even practice the basic requirement of informing the client the delivery time and the customer needs to follow up to know the status. Even after the customer feedback form was provided with a dissatisfaction feedback the same was not shared with the senior team or the VW company. Even I was surprised when they asked me to change break pads in two years (running 23,000 kms)

Exterior
Wonderful. I am in love with the design of the this car. Classy and contemporary.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Its not as comfortable as you think from inside. The vibrations are very apparent while driving. Decent space. Few feature here and there are good to havve
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine performace is superb but when it comes to drivability it is a let down.
The engine noise at higher rpms can be felt through the pedals(clutch, accelerator). Too many niggling issues. Gear vibration, clutch vibrations, sudden drop in mileage, left pulling.
If I had to choose again, I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE THIS CAR AGAIN, NOT ATLEAST FOR 11 LACS OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is the best part of the car.

Ride Quality & Handling
Rattling after 5000 Kms,car is jumping around ,does not give the sturdiness of a german car
Skoda Rapid better performance and well designed than vento
Final Words
does not qualify for VW badge
Areas of improvement
Look at skoda rapid or Hyundai verna .both are a better than vento in the same class
everything & most importantly after sales service
worst experience with M/s Global Gallerie motors pvt ltd,Thane/ Mumbai for sales and withVolkswagen downtown /Shaman motors. SHAMEFUL for a brand like VOLKSWAGEN
Can continue with bad experiences at all levels .When purchased car shown leather steering but supplied with Plastic on vehicle. At service centre spares exhorbitantly expensive & sometimes unavailable, particularly foundation. service appointments cacelled or rescheduled as per convenience of service centre with no value for customers time ,effort.hyundai/skoda/maruti or any other manufacturer having better customer relations

Exterior
Good styling.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Good features such as bluetooth, steering audio controls and Multifunction Display.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
1.6 l petrol engine is silent and good responce. Drive feel is excellant. Steering is very light to move. But changing gears is little tricky specially the reverse. Cant comment on fuel economy as driven for only 400kms.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is good but the car is light weight and sometimes jumps on speed breakers on little higher speed just in case you dont see well in time.
Final Words
I am writing this review to guide others in making their decision. I read all other reviews and got totally confused. Some people are commenting in such a language that makes me wonder whether they are capable to do so.
I am a skoda vetern and have Octavia 2003 and Fabia 2008 both are still in very good shape and performance. So my comparision was with these cars. I did not go for Rapid just because no steering mounted audio controls were given besides the Garmin navigator and parking sensors were fitted by dealer and not by the company.
Back to Vento it is made in India and for India and you cannot expect anything better since the way India functions reflects in these cars. Unlike Skoda cars I bought were 100% assembled in India.
Areas of improvement
Small things compared to skoda are missing 1. Right foot rest. 2. Toll slip holder on front mirror. 3. vanity mirror on driver's side.
Instead of skoda like knob on front seat to make it recline a lever is provided it gives like a stupid Maruti Like feel.
Good exterior, engine performance and ParkotronicCost cutting can be figured out. Red color is used on MFD and internal control knobs

Exterior Sooth and sleek exterior with less cuts wich gives it look like a luxxury sedan.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is good the dash is wide and big, features are also good like you can open you cars window by the remote of the car, but there are less features and its very comfartable car you cannot feel any bumps on the big.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is powerful and fuel economy is less but ok gearbox is very smooth and the sound of engine is like asports car.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is very good it is even stable on 170km/h and the pasenger sitting at do not feel when the car speed is 120 to 130.
Final Words The best car I have bought in my life keep it up volkswagen.
