Not worth a buy at all. The other options that I tested were better by far!

Exterior Nothing really inspiring. The VW emblem/logo too has stoppped drawing attention.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The car is badly cramped for space, specially for those sitting in the backseat. I've tried other hatchbacks as well, and they're much better to sit in. Driving is not a pleasant experience. The 'sitting comfortably' at the wheel feel is missing. I'm not sure if its a good car to go on a long drive.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Poor pick up, specially with the a/c on. The engine doesn't 'like ' pulling 4 adults with the a/c on. It's never going to overtake a long trailer on the highway (without a divider) unless there are no oncoming vehicles for about a mile. By the time you pick up adequate speed, you have to back off for the oncoming vehicle. I kind of like the 'Familiarity with the car' options given below where they do not give the option of a nice and comprehensive test drive. The engine is noisy - it growls; vibrates too. Figo, Ritz and Indica Vista (all diesel versions) are much quieter. They merely purr.

Ride Quality & Handling Poor ride - Noisy, struggles to pick up. Didn't take me time at all to decide that this is NOT the car I want to buy.

Final Words Diesel variant is a big NO! The car itself is not ergonomically designed for comfortable driving or travel in the back seat as well. There are much better and cheaper options in the market. Nothing, absolutely nothing about the car justifies a price tag of 8 lac+. Not even the VW reputation.

Areas of improvement First and foremost - attitude of and service provided by the sales team has to improve. My worst experience was getting the test drive guys show up on time after having stood me up thrice. They suffer from megalomania, basking in the misconstrued concept of having a grea thing going. The car had to 'provide' for the Indian diaspora - comfort, convenience and economy. VW Polo fails on all counts.

Nothing at all - it doesn't beat its competetors in any single featureEngine noise, Poor Interiors, Cramped for space, Bad pick up
