Good looking. The front looks is very good.

Front view from the driver seat is not that good comparing to ford figo/maruti swift/i120/tata.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Engine pickup is very less comparing to Figo/i20 (just 1.2L). It struggles after 100km/hr speed. Engine is little bit noisy comparing to i20 but little bit lesser than Figo.
Ride Quality & Handling
Clutch experience appears like Alto/Eon. Felt like pressing a mechanical spring. Also its very tough to put the reverse gear & releasing it.
Final Words
Extremly pathetic customer service. Gave car for an insurance claim 8days before. Till today, its in the same place. 0% progress.
No customer care executives pickups the call. Once I called, they didnt even tell the status of progress. Finally went there to see.
Areas of improvement
First do something so that you can improve. Volkswagen downtown Bangalore can be awarded as worst car service center in the world.

Exterior Very good exteriors. Does not have a Japanese look as its other competitors. As of my opinion, the Polo has best in class looks.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The new polo comfortline comes with remote key, one touch up and down windows, 15 inch steel wheels and there is another new feature that when you press an hold the remote lock button, all windows will raise for themselves. But the automatic central locking will be available only in Highline model.
The interior space is less. Will not be very suitable for people who are of above average height. But the seats provide very good comfort once you are seated properly. Getting in and sitting will be a little difficult for the ones above 5'6'' height.
The car is best suited for a four member family. Volkswagen has shown its European way of thinking in designing the interior space of the car.
It might have been better if VW has left the interiors for 4 rather than providing an extra seat belt so as to show off to others that they have designed the car for 5 with all safety features. The seatbelt locks give a horrible experience for the person seated in the middle.
Volkswagen provides dual tone interiors which gives a refreshing look compared to the competing vehicles. The car also comes with telescopic and tilt adjustable steering which provides good ergonomic comfort.
The comfortline model comes with height adjustable driver seat as well which adds to the comforts of the driver.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine performance is not very good in the polo diesel. The engine has a very low pick up and makes it very hard to overtake long vehicles such as bus or trucks. Also the car finds it tough to climb hills with 5 average people seated. The 3 cylinder engine is to be blamed. If VW has given a 4 Cylinder engine, performance would have been on par with maruti Swift making Polo the best car to own.
The gear box is the best thing I liked about the car. Gear shift is as smooth as butter, especially after riding maruti’s for upto four years.
Fuel economy is not as promised by the showroom representatives. With A/C, the car provies a decent 14 KMPL in city and 20KMPL in the highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality & handling are the places where VW shows its German class. Rode across for a 600 KM ride on a single day with mediocre roads and never felt any tiredness. My father who is now 59, accompanied me for the trip also felt the same. This is the point where Polo can simply outrun any of its competitors.
When it comes to handling, the car sticks on so well to the road and even at 140 KMPH, you never feel as if you are speeding beyond your limit. The brakes also play their part in improving your confidence. Also, due to the 15 inch wheels that come as a part of the new polo, braking has been made more effective. In one instance had to bring down the speed from 90 KMPH to a standstill due to a fool on the road and believe me, the car never skid off control.
The Electronic power steering is a real smooth one and makes driving a pleasure.
Final Words The sales representatives need to have more knowledge on the features of the car. I was one of the first to buy the New version of Polo. I was promised that my music system will have an auxiliary port and it did not have one. The sales rep promised me that automatic central locking has been provide in the model but post delivery, was informed that automatic central locking will not work in Comfortline models.
Will personally not recommend this car to any one, not that the car is not good, but the sales network has horrible attitude.
Areas of improvement The sales force of VW must be more informed of the features in the car. Also when we get back to them after purchase of the vehicle, we get horrible responses.

Exterior Excellent design, solid look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable for standard family - grandfather,grandmother, father, mother & a kid, Storage space is sufficient for standard family, if they opt for 4 days vacation together.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good. fuel efficiency is not at par as, I was told. it is 13.67 in city & 18.1 on highway.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is compfortable however handling a bit difficult , especially in traffic. Suspension is definalety good.
Final Words You need to be passionate about yourself, then will know quality of german brand. fairly priced for simple reason if other brand cars are available between renge of rs. 4.0-4.5 lacs, polo is definately value for money. My landed cost including octroi is rs. 5.1 lacs basic model + 15 thousand accessories. Rock solid look makes it differenct from other cars. Needless to compare with korean or japnese brands, after all its VW.

Exterior I love the styiling of the POLO, I always loved wider but but low stance cars like contessa, and POLO provides me the same styling and driving dynamics.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I bought Trendline so their are no features, but AC is greatest what I have seen in the cars of this segment. Seats are pretty comfortable, I got back pain in just 15 minutes of riding in Swift but POLO's seats are great. Rear seat space seems smaller but actually its not because rear seat is longer so the thigh supprot is good and space is also bearable. Seatbelts are also comfortable.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.2 TDI engine is so-so in terms of performance but it serves well when pushed hard and also can genarate greater fuel efficiency if driven for that. I loved the postion of reverse and first gear at same place so the parking is easier. Its pleasure to shift gears in this car because of softer and smaller shifts. Engine noise is present but not unbearable, car doesn't vibrate at all, never went over 140 so can't comment on top speed. I have driven only 2000 kms so far so can't exactly say about fuel economy as of now but so far it delevered 14-16 earlier (While drive as per runin period recomendations) and last calculation of 18 leters top-up in city driving with ful AC with sedate driving was 19 KM/L.
Ride Quality & Handling This strongest part of this car. One can not judge the speed of the car without seeing the speedometer. Cornering and turning is really great, there is no body role as what strongly present in Japanese cars due to thir softer suspension. Breaking is also great even without ABS, I had to break hard once when the car was on 140 km/h and breaks did really good job. POLO's overall handling and ride quality is really confidence inspiring. Only concern is tyre noise on some roads, VW should provide better tyres as standard.
Final Words POLO is for those who want to enjoy every moment of driving their car, its driver's car. Its Great handler, solidly built, comfortable and safe car to drive.
Areas of improvement OE fitted JK tyres produce noise. ASS really has great scope of improvements. Service costs might be issue for long term ownership.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is great but fuel economy is not that good on highway it gives around 17kmpl with a speed of 100kmph-120kmph and city mileage is around 13kmpl in hyderabad the gearbox transmission is smooth but back gear will be very hard after few months of usage and the service center manager in hyderabad Mr.SHAILENDRA says it is very common problem for all polo. They claim a mileage of 21kmpl on highway and 17kmpl in city for POLO tdi Highline but that not true. No matter how decent you drive it will be around 14kmpl only.
There was a dent to the left door even after giving it servicing and doing the denting and painting job it was slightly visible, I asked him why is that still visible he says the built quality is so strong that it will be visible even after denting. First they were acting like its not the dent and then he boasts about built quality. Pathetic service and very costly. I advice everyone going to a VW service center to take their home or land documents with them incase the bill is too high you can put it as guarentee and get your car. :P
Ride Quality & Handling Good Ride and very stable at highspeeds on highway, i have myself driven it around 170kmph it was solid without any shakes. But engine noise is very audible inside the car though I cannot expect it to be as smooth as my fathers Honda City iVTECH petrol engine I expect it to be atleast as smooth as swift DDIS engine.
Final Words Nice styling and built quality but very poor mileage and backseat legroom and service station is filled with inexperienced technicians and manager. VW needs to learn a lot from Maruthi in terms of serving the customer.

Final Words I had very experience with the dealer Ramani motors,Madurai..I have told 100 times that I have " no claim bonus" which is to be given while insuring the vehicle.But nobody is aware what is " no claim bonus "I am still yet to get" no claim bonus" from Royal Sundaram who have link with the dealer.
VW have not given any contact email id in their website except postal address (to avoid these type of nuisenses , I think) and I had to get it from their customer service .My email to them is not yet answered even after 5 months.I happened to meet the sales manage -VW for the region and my forwarded message to him is waiting for his grace.employess of the dealer are refusing to give contact details of the owner of the delaership.
It is yet another story how my damaged bumber's cost went from Rs.5500( told me over phone) to 19000 when Insurance claim was made. Now I have pay penalty for buying from this dealer as I loose my "no claim bonus" for my entire life.

I bought the new POLO 1.2 Petrol Highline a month back from BU Bhandari Pune. Just finished 1200 KM. Hope this will be helpfull to propsper buyers.
Exterior Classic exterior especially front spoiler like strcuture at front bottom looks very aggressive. Car is aerodynamically designed from outside.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is very cool. Driver space I am not quite comfortable. your knees always brushes with dashboard if you are about 6 feet in height. Boot space is just awesome.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very noisy from outside. Engine Noise inside with AC is quite OK. At high spped its very superb. even you will not notice the engine noise and vibrations above 50 kmph. The car just changes to flight above speed of 70-80 on highways.
Fuel Economy In pune city and Kothrud area it gives me about 14-15 and in the morning on highway to Hinjewadi (without any traffic) it gave me about 19-20 kmpl for petrol 1.2. I have observed top mileage of 21.5 on the display which shows mileage for every 100 mtr (off course during morning and on highways). I am quite sure on Pune Mumbai Express way this will give you mileage above 20.
Gearbox Buttersmooth, in the handbook thay have suggested not keep hand on gear knob other than the gear shifts as this may rough its connectors : this tells that how smooth it could be.
Ride Quality & Handling Just Superb. I had ride on road near Sarasbaug Pune during evening on Chaturthi, which was highly crowded but this machine did not created any fatigue. It was just seamless. I have also drove it on village bumpy roads but the suspension is very good and it gives you feel of driving any big luxury car.
Final Words I will say its very good car to own for long term perspective. Its very comfortable and gives rich feeling and good mileage. I am very satisfied with the service and communication from BU Bhandari Pashan Pune. They are very attentive and helpfull throughout the process. They made the car available withing few weeks and well before their commitment.
Finally : Few days back I lost (stolen) my front VW logo which gave me feeling of I own luxurious car :)
Areas of improvement Do something about engine noise. I had reported this issue to company through website. I got immediate call from dealer's workshop to see the car. I did visit there but no help. They are saying its due to three cylinder inline cylinder. Also I had complaint of logos getting stolen in Pune. VW monograms are easily removable. Company is saying they have taken the issue in there continuous improvement process. I was suggested to make it availabe at lower price since it will not have resale value but company expressed there inability to compromise on quality. Atleast they can manufacture it integrated with grill.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The heart or engine as we say is pretty responsive..you don't feel the car is underpowered. The turbo boost in 2nd & 3rd gear is pretty good.Fuel economy is a concern even in diesel but if you can drive as the gear shift indicator suggests you can achieve gr8 mileage.(i 'm getting somwhere arnd 12-14 kmpl). You don't feel that the car has a 3 cylinder engine,
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is pretty good. the car does'nt feel wobbly even at 110-120kph.
Final Words Good option if u r lukng for a diesel hatch. u might have a look on skoda's fabia same engine..but u will not get the styling of polo.
Areas of improvement REAR SEATS, FUEL ECONOMY &&&& More colour options on base varient. You get only the option of white or red in the base model.

Exterior No doubt about the stunning looks of Polo and the quality that went into building this machine.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Quality of interiros is good but with only power steering, A.C, central locking and only front two power windows.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Its a 3 cylinder 1.2 litre engine with 75 bhp power. THe power is good but in long run it cannot match the speed of swift or punto or any other car in its segment. However, VW should have compensated with good mileage atleast for the underpowered car. Gearbox and Engine are noise less and promise that you would enjoy the smoothness of the ride.
Ride Quality & Handling Smooth ride and cut a curve with easy handling and turning radius is best in its class.
Final Words I went for polo because of brand and quality of engineering. I mostly drive alone so I am ok with power but if you always drive with a family of 4 and are expecting good power with great mileage , this car is nt for you.
Areas of improvement SHould be a 4 cylinder engine, improvement in Interior features and can improve a lot on mileage.
