Yes, the Volkswagen Passat costs Rs 40 lakhs on the road. And no, it doesn’t command the same snob value as an Audi or a BMW or a Mercedes. Maybe not even as much as a Volvo or a Jaguar.

It would be justified to call it a limousine owing to its length and cabin space and we got to live with it for a brief period of time and we have to tell you how was it living with the Passat.

We agree it didn’t set the sales charts on fire (thanks to the booming SUV segment), but as a package, there was little to find fault with this sedan.
