Overall Fantastic car. Owner 1st Year Review

I own a PASSAT for about a year now. The car is simply fantastic. It is very well built and feels really safe at all times. Safety was one of the main reasons for me to choose this german car as at the time there was no other car under 30L with 5 Star ratings. Delivers a fantastic fuel efficiency of 15-18 kmpl on highways and about 12-14 kmpl in city drive which is pretty good for its size.

I was not very sure of the auto gearbox at the time of buying the car as it seemed uninspiring to drive one. But all my misconceptions have been put to rest with the DSG auto gearbox which is a pleasure to drive as the gearshift is executed in milliseconds.

Cons- A bit noisy engine for this segment. VW could work more on cabin sound insulatoin. Frequent service requirement every 7500 km
