VW Jetta has an excellent style, neither big & heavy nor small & compact. It suits the Exec perfectly on work or leisure with its ease of manouverability and good visibility through the windscreen for the driver. The many storage compartments designed gives an advantage to put away different types of documents or booklets or files related to work, outings, maps or receipts.
On long runs, it has power that oozes out speed with great ease and presents road grip very satisfactorily. It takes the curves very smoothely without the passengers being thrown off the seat. The high performance engine purrs when accelerated. The transmission is soundless in the automatic version.
Overall, Jetta gives the comfort of a limo and the acceleration of a sportcar. It is excellent value for money when compared to MercB or Honda.

its comfortable and a pleasure driving on high. you are quite in control of the car at high speed . has a very good air dynamics , the cabin is very silent even at speed of 180km/hr. got a very good viewing while driving and good head lights.
to drive carefully in traffic condition as problem in knowing the clearance to the front car due to its long front. haveto shift to1st gear at low speed and on humps. touches indian road humps a better clearances is what is required. parking sensors are required for a car of this size. getting in and out is a bit difficult
other wise a good car in its class but a bit expensive because of the volks wagon name to it.
getting city mileage of 15kmpl and high 17kmpl with a/c
average city and high 16kmpl, sturdy and good manoverability road grip, cabin silent with window uptouches humps on indian road conditions, must to have reverse sensors, hump at the rear seat floor i

First off I wanna say I bought this car in jan 2010 for 24 lakhs on road price of 1.9 comfortline auto with paddles shifts. 2 months later they iintroduced the new 2.0 litre engine with more power and price dropped to 18 n half lakhs on road. before buying the dealer told that thr wont be any changes to jetta till 2011 mid. the dealership experience was bad as the dealer did not know much n they do not treat customers properly.
Exterior Exterior build quality is good. tail lamps look cool. but for such a high price no xenons or projectors and no sunroof.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior colour is black and beige. looks nice. good music system but no aux. the bad thing is on highways the rear ac is not effective. it doesnt feel like the air is coming even when on full. even tho the ac was on high the rear passengers kept complaining that they were feeling hot. the rear legroom is good but sitting at the back on highways is not good as the seats are low n the rear passenger will always feel like puking. also thr r issues with power windows. it doesnt go up sumtiimes. maybe loose connection in button.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is good but not great, paddle shifts r delight to use. u can shift between auto and manual. but fuel economy is very bad. i got 12.5 on highway. my friend who owns a c class diesel n tailed me in the journey got a mileage of 14. both our driving style is same. so mileage is bad.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality and handling is the main aspect of this car, feel stable even in curves. this is the strength of the car.
Final Words Its a good car. but for the price its not worth it. for paying such a premium also u dont get xenons or sunroofs. thr are much better cars. even the laura which shares the same engine is a better buy. skoda service may be bad but volkswagen is much worse. i regret not buying the laura or cruze. i would have spent lesser and gotten more. anyways my car is for sale in carwale. its in very good condition. im buying bmw so im selling. if interested contact me.

Exterior This is clean executive car there is no nonsense like flowing aero lines, overdrawn protruding bumpers and likes, but simple exquisite lines, chrome trims giving it luxury car status. Somebody may not like healights but tail lights are really appealing and different and turns every head with cheers to take glance of the car.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interiors are plush, pilot seats give you feel of comfort and feel that you are sitting in a US battle tank. AC i beat on it much better than any laura. Laura AC sucks, even swift AC is chilling as compared with Laura. You compare anything of this vehicle with Laura, at the end you 'll get some less features with top end laura than top end jetta, but fit & finish of each instrument is top quality in jetta like plastics, door quality, leather seats, rear seat comfort, even the hand rest.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox To be frank enough engine is a bit nosier, economy is much better on highways. I've and automatic DSG box so absolute no worry till 30k kms.
Ride Quality & Handling Very god in city for tight corners, also extremely well stability even at 180kmph at express way.
Final Words Go for it if you want best in class entry level german luxury car. If you are looking for peepy equiipments like parking sensors, Bluetooth, and like go for Manza its loaded. 😄😄😄.
Areas of improvement Just get those Goodyear tyres off your vehicle and fit new tyres (michelin)asap. They are terrible.

Hi fellow enthu buyers of this car!!
When I bought this car, I was really excited. It looked nice, it drove well, I got a few modifications and got full leather interiors from Stanely.
Problem started pretty soon. I took it for a road trip a couple of months after buying it. It broke down in the middle of no-where. The car had to be towed 500 kms. It was an unforgettable pain.
Well that was a few years back when they hardly had service network. I guess its much wider now.
But that doesnt mean that its convenient to go to their workshop for quick repairs. The biggest problem I face all the time, and I mean all the time is that parts arent available. everytime I have a fault in the car, it goes to the workshop for 4 to 6 weeks. Which is unbelievable. I cant come to terms that VW thinks that Indian customers are ok to leave their cars in their workshop for so long, everytime.
If you dont have fucking parts available, why do you bloody sell this car? I regret so much buying this car.
You are kidding me.... See other carsIf your car ever needs repair, you need to leave it for a month cos parts are never avlExterior/Styles

Exterior
Looks great, attracts stares of envy and has improved my business image quotient instantly !!! I am suddenly a very successful business man !!
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Great Style, Unmatched comforts, Excellent Suspensions, Fantastic Music Systems, a feeling of total safety inside especially at high speeds !! Pity the mobile interface does not work and there is no remote for the music system and if you are a back seat passenger, then uyou have to listen to a single channel all the time unless you want to risk your driver's concentration.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Smooth take off, a little noisy but stabilises after the drive starts. But have to shift to first gear at almost evey hump. smooth as silk in high speeds and performs like a race car in an expert'shand. Everything about the car is precise and near perfect.
Ride Quality & Handling
Suspension is great. infact I felt it is better than Innova my last car, The car turns precisely and handles perfectly. Gone on a long drive, Came back just as fresh without any strain. It is great while overtaking and hits 80 kms in third in no time.
Final Words
The car is fantastic except for little noise, no remote, Low ground clearance, No reverse horn,no Parking assistance, and mobile blue tooth interface.
Areas of improvement
The above should be included for the price paid !! A factory fitted accessories mentioned above is the only answer as I cant dream of getting a car accessory dealer touch the insides my Jetta !! Volkswage can introduce more colors ,

My purpose for buying the Jetta was the Volkswagen name, the snob value of a German brand which owns Audi . Besides the Jetta 1.9l diesel is built on the same platform as Passat, Audi A3 or a Skoda Laura at much more economic price.
It is an amazing car for an chaffeur driven executive because of primary benefits
1. It has great road handling at high speeds
2. Suspension is by far the best in its segment
3. Safety with performance because of the 8 airbags along with the amazing diesel engine.
Ergo is also specifically meant for the chaffeur driven executive because the diesel engine does not have a smooth pickup of the honda civic and tends to stall on the first and second gears. Once the engine stalls you need to turn it off and again start up. In terms of fun to drive it ranks way below the honda civic. It is also not loaded like the Skoda Laura i.e. no music controls on steering or backseat, no parking assist and the 1.9l trendline does not have the leather interiors or the chrome linings. Hence definately not meant for youngsters, so much so that the new Honda city seems to be better loaded and fun to drive.
But finally the Jetta gives you the joy of owning a good german car with great performance and comfort for the chaffeur driven executives.
Great engine performance, road handling at high speeds, 6 speed transmission and 8 airbagsNo leather interiors in trenline, no music controls on steering or backseat, no parking assist.Exterior/Styles

Exterior Moderate.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are good but interior is very cheap plastic.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Performance is good when it runs as is the fuel economy but I can't keep oil or brake fluid in the car.
Ride Quality & Handling Good.
Final Words Please don't waste your money on this car unless you have lots of discretionary income to fix things like contant leaks, an interior that falls apart, paint doesn't stick to the plastic, the hood won't open, the vacuum lines break apart, the engine mount broke!!! I've never had a car like this. My Toyota's are reliable and inexpensive to maintain.
Areas of improvement Interior is horrible. The glove compartment has broken three times. The center console is falling apart. We only have 60,000 miles (96000km) on the car. We've spent thousands on interior and engine repairs. The struts broke afte 20,000 miles. This is around town driving with two late aged adults.
Good fuel economy, good pickupWorst car I've ever owned for maintenance. Very poor reliability.Exterior/Styles
