Exterior New design indeed gives an upmarket feel, particularly when the guy in BMW or Audi keeps staring at you at traffic light. Silver Leaf is the best shade though Toffee Brown is a close second as it gives a trendy feel (in my view). Overall feel is typically German.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Beige interiors makes it difficult to maintain. Legroom in the rear is more than adequate and best in class but the 5th pax in the centre will surely be UNWANTED and is inconvenienced due to A/C Duct. For 4 pax, absolutely no problem, a great car.

Other than the beige interiors, over feel is good with wood inserts along the doors and dash. Touch-screen music system is versatile but sadly lacks bluetooth feature. Navigation should have been given in Highline at least. Multi-Function DIsplay, Steering feel are best in class.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is super-quite. Except for the start-up clutter of a typical diesel, during rides, one easily forgets that he's driving a diesel car. DSG gear-shifts give fantastic smooth ride. Haven't tried paddle-shifts yet as the natural pick-up itself is adequate in auto mode.

Fuel economy: Mumbai city - about 10km/litre (A/C) and Highways/Expressways - about 13.5-14 (A/C ON). Haven't tried with A/c off (to protect Beige interiors). I find it adequate enough considering that traffic is rising in Mumbai and on Highways too.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is certainly smooth on Driver's Seat. Haven't heard complaints from back-benchers so I presume it is equally good there too! Steering Wheel with leather cladding and controls feels like breeze when it comes to handling.

Final Words I am certainly happy with my Highline AT Jetta 2011. Keeping fingers crossed as it is just a month old. I reseve right to change of view once I have encountered Service Centre team and other aspects.

Areas of improvement If the company can take care of a split-second lag while stepping on the gas. but I guess it doesn't matter for non-racers.

Nice design, excellent DSG, super-silent TDI engineBeige interiors, would have preferred Bluetooth and Navigation in Highline version.

Buying experience: I bought this car from Banglore Volkswagen show room nd my buying experience was awesome
Riding experience: It's the most comfortable car in this range it's automatic gear shifting is very smooth, it's the smoothest car in this price range
Details about looks, performance etc: Performance of this car is best it has got 2L engine with good rpm nd cc and jetta looking pretty awesome
Servicing and maintenance: It's very low maintenance car just have to do is servicing with is bit cheaper then other brand
Pros and Cons: Porns - has a great gear shifting It's very comfortable car Mileage is good Looks beautiful Low maintenance Cons - Flywheel get sound after 1 lakh kms

 

Exterior It is understated elegance. Have heard a lot of views mentioning it looks v close to Vento. I can tell you that in flesh it is nothing like it at all. The alloys are beautiful.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great space & features. The only misses I would have expected of a car costing 20 L is ACC, Sun/moon roof & push button start.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent torque wave. DSG is a mind reader & paddle shifters make it a joy to drive.

Ride Quality & Handling It is on the firm side unlike the japs & korean cars. But that flattens out beyond speeds of 30 kmph. It also means an excellent high speed stability.

Final Words Maybe 75K more expensive than it should have been but overall an excellent buy. There are a lot of features in the car which are not there in the spec sheet (wake up VW) - cornering lamps, boarding lamps, ground clearance is 159 mm not 139 mm as mentioned in the borchure.

 I Dont understand why people compare it with vento may be because they are keeping themselves satifisfied comparing it to jetta. Best look of jetta comes from rear view even any luxary car audi,bmw,jaguar ..u name it cant beat that look. Front looks like mini passat.silver is their trade mark color i own a silver it looks really really great when i see my car. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 Interior is very very spacious for tall people, front seats are adjustable u can increase the height of seats , only thing is back middle seat can be good for kids i dont think its minus for car ..even for big people sitting in back middle seat they wont feel uncomfortable because of the suspension technology this car offers. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Engine performance is great car wont shake even when ur on 170 kmph speed and ur in full control of the car. fuel economy trust me u will blindly get 16 kmpl minimum at any driving conditions on highway even on top speeds and in city u will get minimum 12 kmpl even in worst traffic which is great for automatic transmission car.

gearbox is simply awesome it has sport mode which can given u extra push.

Ride Quality & Handling

 You will be amazed with the ride quality u get with this car.. i traval a lot in long trips and never got tired in this car i believe may be becoz of its suspension.

Final Words

 i was worried abt huge speed breakers near my house i travalled in hyundai elantra and even skoda laura on the same road and experienced car hitting those speed breakers but when i got on the same with jetta it did not touch at all and i was very impressed with the suspension. my second worry was about milege jetta has impressed me with its great milege combined with power and stability.my third thought was am i buying car that looks like vento and when ever i see jetta i keep thinking how did i compare it with vento which is nowhere in looks  near to jetta except they use same logo.

Areas of improvement  

adding key less button start ,rear view reverse camera and yes improvement in audio system is needed. if they can add these 3 features it will be even more fun.

Great ride quality this baby will drive u crazy when it comes to handling corners you can zip through the traffic of india roads just having fun in the car.

Final Words

Many people forget to consider this car when they are searching for Automatic version , this car is very very good value for ur money when compared to buying Merc or BMW series and paying high maintenence costs for the services. even though skoda is a competetor for the VW  never consider skoda because of their poor service and less brand attraction.When you are driving this Jetta it will catch attention than any other car in this segment.

Areas of improvement  

 For the price VW offering this car they should seriously considering adding car mats,keyless entry,moon roof and parking camera

Exterior Elegant, sportive  Superb quality alloy wheels, Solid build.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) High quality interior plastics and seat leather, Excellent fit and finish, Instrument cluster box

Features True  It lacks blutooth connectivity & dual zone climate control.  But it's got loads of features other cars in the segment haven't got..  Day-time running lights/ Automatic parking lights/ 8- Airbags/ Engine immobleiser.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Stiff ride at low speeds and a bit of lag in the 2nd gear But at high speeds the car dosen't drive It flies. Very powerful Engine 140bhp@4000 RPM.  And still good economy of 15 KM/L.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb high speed ride quality. Along with features like the ESP, ASR, Traction control, It stayes grounded onto it's track even at very speeds.Handling is very easy thanks to the electric steering wheel--- adjusts to speed.

Final Words Excellent car with German engineering. Too bad many of us Indiand do not realise this. Many critics have written negative reviews which are not true. So many features which other cars in the segment lack.  But  a bit expensive!!!

Areas of improvement SERVICE!!!!! A good car with bad service is dissapointing.

Exterior : Great styling, Good aerodynamics, Superb paint job & very good fit & finish.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) : Interior needs serious improvement. Not suited for car of this price tag. Competition offer much better interior at the same price tag. Bluetooth should be included in music system.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : Great engine, great gear box, great performance, Great safety

 

Ride Quality & Handling : Excellent handling, superb suspension, Great breaks, ABS & EBD really works seriously. Fun to drive car.

 

Final Words : VW has to seriously work on AC or may be talk to Toyota for learning AC technology. Toyota has best AC technology for our country.

 

Areas of improvement  : AC  & after sales service, Wiring on engine has to be secured with metal sleeves as I have experience rat problem twice on my car cutting wire for CAM sensor and causing start up problem. VW also has to reduce cost of spares and may be provice with comprehensive maintenance contract like other manufacturers.

 Excellent exterior with masculing appeal. Excellent finish of paint and chrome work.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 Great space - better than BMW3, extremely comfortable, Good interior - but VW could have given more chrome on centre console. Need improvement on leather coverings on door trims. Sunshade is required on rear and back passenger windows.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Refined engine with great mileage. Don't feel you are driving a diesel car ! German enginnering is really better than Japanese !!! Super suspension. Extremely refined gear box (AT). Love to drive it.

Ride Quality & Handling

 Superb suspension. extremely well handling on curves and traffic.  Feel safe at every speed.

Final Words

Very good car. Except bluetooth connectivity which does not cost much (to VW). Sunshades are required for rear as well as rear passenger windows.

 

Areas of improvement  

 Need to give bluetooth & GPS for such a priced car. Also required is auto closing of side mirrors when car is locked. Also as stated sunshades are required for rear and rear passenger windows.

Exterior Very stylish car. Pleasure to be in because of the stylish design. However they cud have changed front headlamps and daylight a little.. (i love dis ones also but thn vento and polo shud hav been different)

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very comfortable car.. however it shud have audio controls at back cos car mostly driven by chauffers. problematic for 3 to sit in the rear.. having said that i jss love the interiors and othr features in the car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very gr8 as of now. it features in many VWs , skodas n audis. the dsg gearbox is a pleasure to drive. car goes to high speeds vry quickly. sports mode is an added advantage.

Ride Quality & Handling Automatic cars are always pleasure to drive especially on mumbai roads. hadling is superb.

Final Words I chose d jetta over laura and i am glad about my decision. i am in absolute love with dis car. love the black color. very good car. 

Areas of improvement Shud offer more features in the top variant atleast just like laura L&K. less arrogance of vw dealers wud do no harm.
