Volkswagen Jetta [2013-2015] User Reviews

I am a very disappointed customer of Jetta car which was purchased from Swami Motors, Chandigarh in 2013. On 5th Jan, 2015, my car's Electronic Control System broke down during my road trip from Agra to Chandigarh within only two years of running. I was forced to leave the car with Volkswagen Noida service station at A-18, Sector 6, Noida under their GM Sumit. During time of leaving the car of 5th Jan, I was told by Gaurav (representative at Noida) and Rohit (Manager at Volkswagen Chandigarh) that the car should be ready with new ECS maximum within a week. Forget a commitment of week, the people at Volkswagen Noida now say that the car will not be ready before 25th Jan. This actually leaves me without any car to myself for more than 20 god damn days with plenty mental trauma and inconvenience. And yet none of the Volkswagen dealers (Noida or Chandigarh) are ready to provide me even a spare car to manage my commute. I strongly suggest that this crappy company should not sell cars in a country if it cannot provide timey customer service to it, especially when the break down happened due to no fault of customers'. I am left with no option but forced to seek legal remedy from Competition Commission of India and Local Consumer court so that companies like Volkswagen should be taught how to function responsibly in any country.

NoneNo spare parts there in India. All to be imported from Germany. Huge wait time if car breaks down.

Exterior New design indeed gives an upmarket feel, particularly when the guy in BMW or Audi keeps staring at you at traffic light. Silver Leaf is the best shade though Toffee Brown is a close second as it gives a trendy feel (in my view). Overall feel is typically German.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Beige interiors makes it difficult to maintain. Legroom in the rear is more than adequate and best in class but the 5th pax in the centre will surely be UNWANTED and is inconvenienced due to A/C Duct. For 4 pax, absolutely no problem, a great car.

Other than the beige interiors, over feel is good with wood inserts along the doors and dash. Touch-screen music system is versatile but sadly lacks bluetooth feature. Navigation should have been given in Highline at least. Multi-Function DIsplay, Steering feel are best in class.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is super-quite. Except for the start-up clutter of a typical diesel, during rides, one easily forgets that he's driving a diesel car. DSG gear-shifts give fantastic smooth ride. Haven't tried paddle-shifts yet as the natural pick-up itself is adequate in auto mode.

Fuel economy: Mumbai city - about 10km/litre (A/C) and Highways/Expressways - about 13.5-14 (A/C ON). Haven't tried with A/c off (to protect Beige interiors). I find it adequate enough considering that traffic is rising in Mumbai and on Highways too.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is certainly smooth on Driver's Seat. Haven't heard complaints from back-benchers so I presume it is equally good there too! Steering Wheel with leather cladding and controls feels like breeze when it comes to handling.

Final Words I am certainly happy with my Highline AT Jetta 2011. Keeping fingers crossed as it is just a month old. I reseve right to change of view once I have encountered Service Centre team and other aspects.

Areas of improvement If the company can take care of a split-second lag while stepping on the gas. but I guess it doesn't matter for non-racers.

Nice design, excellent DSG, super-silent TDI engineBeige interiors, would have preferred Bluetooth and Navigation in Highline version.

Buying experience: I bought this car from Banglore Volkswagen show room nd my buying experience was awesome
Riding experience: It's the most comfortable car in this range it's automatic gear shifting is very smooth, it's the smoothest car in this price range
Details about looks, performance etc: Performance of this car is best it has got 2L engine with good rpm nd cc and jetta looking pretty awesome
Servicing and maintenance: It's very low maintenance car just have to do is servicing with is bit cheaper then other brand
Pros and Cons: Porns - has a great gear shifting It's very comfortable car Mileage is good Looks beautiful Low maintenance Cons - Flywheel get sound after 1 lakh kms

Exterior

 I Dont understand why people compare it with vento may be because they are keeping themselves satifisfied comparing it to jetta. Best look of jetta comes from rear view even any luxary car audi,bmw,jaguar ..u name it cant beat that look. Front looks like mini passat.silver is their trade mark color i own a silver it looks really really great when i see my car. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 Interior is very very spacious for tall people, front seats are adjustable u can increase the height of seats , only thing is back middle seat can be good for kids i dont think its minus for car ..even for big people sitting in back middle seat they wont feel uncomfortable because of the suspension technology this car offers. 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

 Engine performance is great car wont shake even when ur on 170 kmph speed and ur in full control of the car. fuel economy trust me u will blindly get 16 kmpl minimum at any driving conditions on highway even on top speeds and in city u will get minimum 12 kmpl even in worst traffic which is great for automatic transmission car.

gearbox is simply awesome it has sport mode which can given u extra push.

Ride Quality & Handling

 You will be amazed with the ride quality u get with this car.. i traval a lot in long trips and never got tired in this car i believe may be becoz of its suspension.

Final Words

 i was worried abt huge speed breakers near my house i travalled in hyundai elantra and even skoda laura on the same road and experienced car hitting those speed breakers but when i got on the same with jetta it did not touch at all and i was very impressed with the suspension. my second worry was about milege jetta has impressed me with its great milege combined with power and stability.my third thought was am i buying car that looks like vento and when ever i see jetta i keep thinking how did i compare it with vento which is nowhere in looks  near to jetta except they use same logo.

Areas of improvement  

adding key less button start ,rear view reverse camera and yes improvement in audio system is needed. if they can add these 3 features it will be even more fun.

Great ride quality this baby will drive u crazy when it comes to handling corners you can zip through the traffic of india roads just having fun in the car.

Final Words

Many people forget to consider this car when they are searching for Automatic version , this car is very very good value for ur money when compared to buying Merc or BMW series and paying high maintenence costs for the services. even though skoda is a competetor for the VW  never consider skoda because of their poor service and less brand attraction.When you are driving this Jetta it will catch attention than any other car in this segment.

 For the price VW offering this car they should seriously considering adding car mats,keyless entry,moon roof and parking camera

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great comfort and stability at high speed, Manual AC is good enough and not a deal breaker.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox This is where my area of interest comes. 140 PS power with fuel economy of over 17kmpl is just amazing. Engine, once warmed up, goes like a rocket and i have even reached 20-100 in 2nd gear itself... its a free revving engine. Power delivery is linear with almost no turbo lag if u r driving in proper gear... inside city one can cruise from 30 to 100, so rides like automatic only. Gear shifting is smooth considering it as a diesel engine.

Ride Quality & Handling Gives a planted ride and the confidence while drive is worth every extra penny you spend on jetta.

Final Words If you are planning to buy a saloon in range of 12-15 lacs, ofcourse jetta is not in budget, but bargain hard with dealer, wait for few months if required, but buy jetta only... i got mine in 15+ lacs on road.... however i bought nov 2012 model in feb 2013 so the discounts... but such period comes every year.. spending 11 lacs on vento or verna, 13 on corrola or 15 on elantra or duster or laura or XUV 500 for that matter is not worth than spending 15 on jetta.... You always have confidence of power in your right foot, mileage and coolness of german safety standards, (trust me when they say ABS and ESP, it is of the top performing ones). If you are an enthusiast driver and just need music system, AC with tons of safety features, then dnt ever look for anything else. yes, exterior looks does matter unless you dont like understated, never aging looks of jetta. Think of the exclusivity you are going to get with jetta. 300 odd jettas are sold every month in india compared to 1000s of verna, corrolla and elantra.

 its looks are very elegant though a bit understated.its length and width are spot on.drls look good though an option of led wouldve been great.people might feel it looks like a vento,but trust me,it doesnt.its more a mini passat.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

 though it doesnt hv acc,bluetooth, it still does have some nice little features like cooled glovebox,the red backlight,auto wipers and headlights,boot opening through rear armrest,leatherette seats,mfd etc.its also got awesome safety features like 6 airbags,esp,traction control,abs-ebd and a very important feature is hill hold control.

 simply excellent in all respects.no other words.

Ride Quality & Handling

 very good ride quality at all speeds.at high speed feels especially brilliant.its planted and steering weighs up nicely.handles like a dream in corners.

Final Words

easily the  best car at this price point.though a bit expensive,it will be the best in the long run.

I would just say that beside of so much expensive parts or services , the car is unbeatable, the ride quality , the handling , the pickup is best in this segment , if you talk about fuel economy every car is all about how you drive the car ! I have got maximum of 25kmpl from this car on 120 kmph ! Mini beast

VW cars are good in performance, riding, looks, however, these are worst when it comes to after sales service, value for money. This is the worst car I have bought till date. VW cars car not meant for India. The company's dealers are again worst. They don't have readily available spare parts. We have to wait weeks to get a spare part replaced. From buying to after sales service, the overall experience is worst.
