Hi, I own a Toyota etios diesel vehicle (2016 model) which I am using for taxi purpose. I have noticed a severe oil consumption in my vehicle after its 40000km service. When I checked the oil level at 46000,the oil was just above the lower dot mark. When I approached service centre people they just simplified the matter and told me that this much oil consumption is a normal thing and nothing to worry. Since I was curious to know the reason of oil consumption, I asked them regarding the solution.

Then they told me that you can either top up the oil level or do service at every 5000 km, and the interesting thing is, they also don't know the way, the oil disappear from the engine. Since the service warranty is only up to 100000 km, I am very much worried about the engine condition after the warranty period. If some thing happened to the engine the dealer will not consider it as a manufacturing complaint.

Oil consumption issue is not a rare case. All etios diesel vehicle owners are facing the same problem. Most of these etios are using for taxi purpose in india. So the Toyota company is just cheating their etios customers by hiding this issue and trying to convince the customer by telling the same words."NOTHING WILL HAPPEN".

Using Etios GD model since December 2012. Done 1,40,000Km still car is in excellent with highway mileage 22kmpl. Maintenance only routine servicing, tyre's and battery change. No engine or any other work. Still it is reliable car for long drive. This car has been to Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad by road. Spacious, comfortable for 6feet person like me, be it front or back seat.

I'm using this car sone 2013. Riding experience is still very smooth like an almost new car. Service is just ok spare parts always a shortage. Very nice car but its resale value is horrible. Due to current performance, i decided to go with the urban cruiser but the Toyota exchange team offers me 1.35 lakh whereas in open market I'm already getting 3+ lakhs, Toyota team is themselves responsible for poor sales.

Buying experience - Bought in beginning of 2013. Since it was a uplifted model at that time no offers were given. But car was delivered within a week of booking and registration was done within that time. Riding experience - The most spacious car I ever used. Three adults can sit easily in rear seat without any trouble. Comfortable for long drives. Looks - It could have been better. Performance - 1.4 D4D engine does the job perfectly. Mileage was 14-15kmpl in city and 17-20 kmpl in highway. Servicing - Maintenance is very less. In 70k Kms of ownership, paid only Rs 3-9 k as max. Changed tyres and batteries which are general wear and tear. Pros - A Reliable power horse. Toyota's fuss free maintenance. Safety, it is a four star gncap awarded car. Many times saved us in panic braking situation in highway. Cons - Design and instruments clusters.

Model-Platinum Etios Fuel- Diesel Trim-Gd Color-Grey Dealer-Harsha Toyota, Hyd. Note- Toyota launched platinum etios to cater private car buyers and platinum differs from commercial variant in many features. I bought Grey Platinum Etios Gd(should had bought Vd) last week after much dilly dallying, test drive, accruing countless reviews from team bhp, online reviews, etc. The buying exp wasn't that great as the salesman was inexperienced and it took me 3 weeks to close deal. The interiors of etios are considerable improvement over the last 3-5 year models. I would say the dual tone interiors of the car is good and you'll like once you get used to it in a day or two and not to disappoint are the chic looking fabric and better quality cushioned seats. You also get a rear arm rest right from base trim which adds to comfort over long drives. The clutch is light and is far better in terms when compared to vent which was my original choice and for which I also paid initial token amount but couldn't get delivery due to some issues with dealer. I went on a long drive on the very next day after taking delivery of the car. Etios doesn't like to be revved beyond 2500-3000( I haven't revved it beyond 2200) beyond which the engine starts to groan. NVH levels are also vastly improved over previous year models and doesnt bother you unless you are a free revving guy. Drive it under 2500-3000 and it's a sweet spot. It's best for city driving and highway rides where you can cruise constantly all day at 100-130kmph(For better mileage stick to 100-120kmph). Leg space, comfort, boot space, AC and ride quality is unmatchable in its segment and you can consider it as king here. Etios platinum suspension is different when compared to its previous models and it digests all bumps with ease (It's far better than current Baleno where you get tossed even when you hit smallest hump). Regarding NVH levels, Dzire is the benchmark here but I would say etios NVH levels are greatly improved. I got a mileage of 21.8kmpl with 100% AC on (Company claims 23.8kmpl) riding at 95-100kmph on the very next day after delivery(drove from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and back). On Etios Gd trim you get Airbags,Abs,Ebd, rear arm rest, power windows, Manual AC and remote locking(All these are standard). I can definitely claim one could maintain 2 etios at the service cost of 1 vento and also maintenance costs are cheaperwhen compared with Suzuki diesel cars. From team bhp ownership reviews, I see periodic maintenance costs of etios for every 10000kms costs roughly 3500-4000(110000kms run etios diesel service cost was Rs 3727). No need to change fuel filter or timing belt unless it's exceptional situation. To sum up, I would say Etios is not contemporary looking car but one that can fulfill your needs practically with great reliability coming from Toyota stable. One has to buy etios with head and not with heart. I hope this helps all who love etios but ignore it for its taxi image and bland looking interiors. If you buy it, you won't regret for sure. 100000/3years standard warranty.
