From the first pictures and details emerging for Toyota Etios, it appears that Etios is going to be a huge disappointment. It doesnt seem to offer anything new. Its something here and something there but not complete.
The Base-version at Rs.5.50 Lakhs doesnt compare favourably with established Manza and Desire in terms of amenities. The power at 90 HP is the same as Manza and Desire. The fuel-efficiency, though not disclosed, will also fall in the same range of 13-14 for petrol and 18-20 for Diesel.
The big disappointment is that CD player is not available in the first two versions. Its available in the Air-Bags Version. This is a nice cost cutting strategy but is going to prove costly to Toyota.
VW Vento though costly appears to be more stylish.
Overall the Car is so-so. Nowhere near its competitors like Tata Manza and Suzuki Dezire.
I was waiting to see it in the showroom as soon as it arrives. But I dont think now driving 10 Kms to the showroom. Let it come on the roads.
