        • My Etios GD SP, a true performer
Exterior  The Back side of this car is very boxy and not that appealing as its front, paint gets easily scratched and very evident as mine is a classic grey colour Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)  i wanted an ABS with airbag version and it is availabe in etios from the middle variant of this car Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:   I was looking for an entry level sedan and zeroed on honda amaze, maruthi swift dzire and toyota etios, other brands where avoided because i didnt feel comfortable about the performance of those cars or the after sales services. i test drove these 3 cars: swift dzire: good car, but i hated the turbo lag of the diesel version, there was a huge gap in the rpm to hit the turbo on.  Honda Amaze: very powerful on paper at 100bhp, didnt feel so also poor steering and rough gear shifts let me loose confidence on this as i was planning for long journeys with my car. Toyota Etios: very comfortable, steering adjustable, seat height adjustable, smooth engine, one will feel the turbo kicking on, excellent steering, superior gear shifts, made my day happy in the end. (Mind you i test drove all the three vehicles in a day) Ride Quality & Handling Excellent handling, city driving just became a wow. When i was cruising on the highway (thrissur-ernakulam in kerala) i felt the car not giving a formidable response to my throttle, but when i looked into the sppedo it was @140kmph. gues that explains it all   Final Wordss  A good car to own, the etios diesel Areas of improvement    wanted an automatic climate control for the AC, looks, a bit stiff clutch  good engine feedback, good brakeswanted an automatic climate control for the AC, looks, a bit stiff clutch

Exterior I bought Etios GD in Oct'13 and its been over 7 months and 60k kms now and the body shines like new. Love the looks. The stylish wfeel covers accentuate the good looks of my silver etios. The only issue is that  the body gets very easy scrathed and dented in mumbai traffic. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)  I have travelled extensively in mumbai and also to outstation trips with my family in this car and my family is fully happy with the space and comfort the car provides.  Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox  Engine is smooth like butter. I have been getting a fuel economy of 15-16 kmpl in mumbai traffic with AC always on and 20kmpl on highway. Couldnt have asked for more. Gears are smooth. Absolutely glitch-free. Now I realise why people love toyota engines. Ride Quality & Handling  Very good ride quality. With the 50k kms service, I also got the tryres rotated as per the manuel book.  Final Words  Its been over 7 months and with every passing day, my love for my car increases. Areas of improvement    The cabin could have been more expensive looking. I guess this is one area where all toyota cars get beaten from competition. Also, body should be more strong so that it doesnt get scratched easily.  everythingthe surface gets scratched easily

        • Truth, Drove 10000 Kms, Good family car but doesn't get your adrenaline pumping
7 months back I started the search for an entry level sedan, as I was the owner of a small car i10. I was looking for something big now. After test driving verna, sx4, etios , rapid and ford classic. I took the decesion on following factors. Verna: Car was a uncontrolled horse. I really felt unsafe after 100 kmph and main thing is these              korean hyundai cars are big hole in your pocket. My i10 get services for around 10000                    every six months. So I avoided hyundai. SX4:     Useless car, no spaceinside,  same swift dzire engine, common, who is going to buy it.                     They wre giving straight discount of 1lakh when I was planning to buy it. Skoda:  Zero customer satisfaqction and hole in pocket. Ford:     Really nice car, but I doubt its reliability and maintaince cost. Now I met my perfect partener i.e. Etios Went to show room, I was offered to drive etios VD, the moment I sat inside car , wow. It was awesomly confortable, too much leg room in rear, boot was a well.  Drove the car two times and finally booked it and it got deliverd on 13 Dec 2013 and till now I have driven it on mountains, highway and touched 160 Kmph with five person in side. And touch 140 daily on Noida express way. :) Exterior Exterior of car is ok, etios 2013 looks good on road, I have noticed many running etios and they look good. I dislike the thin metal quality used by toyota although it improved on economy being lighter. Toyoto need to improve on this metal quality part. I will say its ok. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Plastic quality used is bad and thin. Instrument pannel has many indicators. I like the hight adjust. Speedometer is in center, actually I like it :). Comfort is awesome, actually its the main thing I look in a car while driving. I will give 5/5 in comfort. My mom was never able to sit in rear in my i10 due to comfort issue. But she now preffers to sit in rear. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Now comes the main part. Engine since it is borrowd from corola and leniar torque is added to it engine is good.  I need to be in a mood to drive it, i.e. you need to rev a bit to puch the car, but's ok car doesn't say no to it. Gear shift, it's like 1-2-3-4--6. Fifith gear is like sixth. So , on highways I use sixth gear after 90-100 kmph. Although people say swift performs better, I say it's ok because my legs are cramed in swift. Economy Achieved 18 kmpl in city and 21 on highway. For economy driving style anf traffic matters a lot.  Ride Quality & Handling Steering is good and soft, but you need to make few extra turns. Handling as at par with all the cars, better then verna, no one handles better than FORD. Final Words I like my car a lot amd enjoy driving it, first servcie is pending so engine oil change will pump new energy into my car. I would say, buying a car is your choice and consider the aspects you like about the car. Don't go with people advice because its always confusing. Areas of improvement Interior, plastic quality, thin metal outside. Rest is ok.Comfort, Gearshift, Night drive, Boot space, Fuel economy , Easy driveAccelerator response, car performance on full load, Plastic quality and thin metal used
