Don't purchase Toyota new corolla altis. It has manufacturing defects. Purchase at your own risk. I am regretting you please beware. Toyota only sell, they don't care about after sales

Please don't buy Toyota corolla altis . it has manufacturing defects. For your information I have sent my concern to every one voc@toyota-kirloskar.co.in and customer care complaint no. TMC 0714137897, FEEDBACK ALSO, General manager ,Grace Toyota, Vice president Grace Toyota, Regional Manager, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and many more. But I have not got any written resolution from thier side. Now I have sent Legal notice also but again no response till date. This is called customer grievance. And you all are proving it. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED . ITS BEEN 49 DAYS NOW.

You people first sell defective cars to your customer then you let your customer chase after you. Worst car of the year. Please note that Toyota Kirloskar Motors and Grace Toyota (Cosmic. motors Private limited) are both jointly and severally liable for all. financial and other loses caused to me as a direct and foreseeable. consequence of your negligence and inaction, for which I reserve my right. to seek damages. Kindly look in to the matter seriously and replace this. manufacturing defect vehicle with new vehicle in good condition without. any manufacturing defects.

NothingHas defective AC

Poor Customer Relation department, writing severals mails but no response in writing till dat its been 36 days now.

  Today is 24th July, 2014, and for your information I have purchased this vehicle unfortunately on 18th June,2014. Its been 36 days since that I am calling you people, doing complaint on mails and met you people many times. I am the only who is suffering and harassed by you people from last 36 days.    Please let us know what is our fault, we have paid full amount without any discount for fully functional goods suppose to be delivered. Due to negligence of manufacturer and the dealer I have been delivered the car which is defective.   I hereby request to please take action against those who neglected this problem during pre-delivery inspection, why should we suffer and run after the dealer and manufacturer for this. Kindly reserves the rights of consumer by taking action against those who have committed this mistake and show this examples to your customers to gain further trust in Toyota Brand.   For your information I am the only earning member in my family, my mother has gone through two heart surgery, hip- bone transplant and has arthritis due to this she is not able to walk properly, my wife is pregnant and my 6 year son goes to primary school. We have only this car to commute which we are not able to use because its AC is not functioning. We belong to society where we believe in human value more that any thing. Only looksAC not Working

Here's a brief of my frustrating experience with Corolla Altis, Toyota India, Galaxy Toyota (Moti Nagar, Delhi) 

1. Unending Issues with CNG: I would have sent my car at least 5 times to CNG company for solving one or other issue. The latest issue was that it automatically switches to Petrol despite enough quantity of CNG.
   
2. Disk Brake Issues: Within 50K kms of drive, I've got it replaced 4 times and spent whopping money (i.e. over Rs 40,00). Service Advisor says it's normal while my friends & relatives who own a similar segment car were shocked. I found out that I am not alone; it seems to be a known design issue: At the same time I got to know that it’s an issue known to Toyota. 3. Car Doesn't Start: Every day, multiple times the card doesn't start till I try 10-15 times and at times getting stuck in the middle of the road for 3-5 minutes. I complained about it and sent the car for repair multiple times. Service center would do some testing, cleaning & give some other excuse and send back the car. Latest excuse was that battery is week, which I replaced and the problem is still there :(.
   
4. Worst Service Experience: 5/6 times, the car has comes back from the service center (Galaxy Toyota) with 1 or more issues including scratch in the car, uninstalled part, non-working center locking. My experience with Maruti is FAR better. If you are sending car to Galaxy Toyota for service, be prepared to wait for at least 3-4 extra hours or upto wait for next day delivery above the estimated time. Overall, I've sent my car for more than 20 times to Galaxy Toyota and the problems are still not solved. There are more issues as well but I believe the above listed ones are sufficient for anyone at my place to lose patience.

Extra Space & LooksDefective Product, Pathetic Service

So the new Corolla Altis is a revamp, as claimed by the company but is it really so? read below.

I have owned the car for 2 months now, and put about 2800 Kms on it. It is the model 'G' and in Automatic transmission.

When I was in the market I was quite set at Skoda Octavia elegance AT. With its symmetrical lines and corners , its English look, the resemblance to a 2007 Audi A4 I was quite convinced it was the best choice in the segment . Well I was wrong. . My visit to Skoda showroom went unnoticed and I heard the horror service stories. So driving around after Chevy and Hyundai I landed at Toyota.

1) EXCELLENT SERVICE . The moment I stepped in I was attended. The day I bought my car and even on the day I put my car for first service. Free snacks , drinks and computers to do work with a TV telling me my car's service status.

2) LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. While I walked in with a mindset to see some taxis in the showroom, I walked out with a mindset to buy one. My first impressions of the car were on its interiors. Soft touch material all around, edgy door paneling and dash board, Comfortable seats, technologically loaded and NOT at all like a taxi.

3) HOW DOES IT DRIVE? When I first got the car, the BIGGEST concern was the rubberbanding effect on the Transmission. Speed up the car to 50 KMPH, take foot of the gas, put the foot back down and you feel the transmission bounce. But Now that the car has been driven and I no longer feel the effect. The Transmission otherwise is smooth, quick and well built.

Now I did see some complain about faulty A/C in the vehicle but I have had No issues what so ever. I do follow guidlines in the manual and turn off the A/C before I turn off my car but I guess some dont read the manual :P

Overall: My first car in India, and after driving in the US for a few years. I find the New Corolla Altis to be a serious driving pleasure.

Exterior Great Interiors, with stylish and aerodynamic design. Great DRLs (accessory)

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious and premium interiors.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Unbeleivable output from 1.4 lire diesel engine. Gears are perfectly calibrated. Mileage is decent.

Ride Quality & Handling Great. Great handling when on high speeds.

Final Words I have been in doubt for its low powered engine. I drive to himachal twice a month and its drive is very smooth in the hills too. Have been to intriors of himachal too (kinaur) with no issues. Just keep in mind that perfect rpm should be maintained in order to keep going. :). And great mileage too. (17kmpl city and 21kmpl highway). 

I have done around 8k kms till writing this review. Well lets see what it delivers in the future.

Areas of improvement Some features should be intriduced in next generation, e.g sunroof, auto close side mirrors in low models too (come on, m spending around 15-16 lakh).

Looks, No cabin noise, Fuel economy, decent power, Ride quality, turbo, breaking, comfortNo sunroof, No auto close side mirrors

Exterior The car looked great.  My children and I preferred Metallic Grey as we felt the car looked like a robot in that colour.  I saw many people turn their heads to our direction whenever we drove.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The seats looked great when I saw the through car from outside.  The seats are very spacious.  My son was very happpy because he could sit comfortably for longer time over a long distance.  He used to complain earlier when we had driven a smaller hatchback.  My daughter was in big smile when she travelled longer distance because there was no travel fatigue.  In summary, the quality of journey or comfort in Toyato Corolla has been Impeccable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I bought a new Diesel Corolla Altis (Model:  D-4D JS) in June 2015. In fact, I had booked for a Jetta Comfortline Diesel with a waiting time of 2 months; but after the waiting time, Jetta dealer said that I had to wait for another 8 months!!   Though disappointed, I spent two days to find an alternative to Jetta.   I narrowed my choice to Toyota Corolla. So, I called Annamalais Toyota located in Karur Dt, Tamil Nadu immediately  and expressed my tentative interest.  To my surprise, the Toyota Representatives brought a Corolla Diesel same day evening to my residence at Manapparai for a test drive.

I tested this car on a 40 km stretch of Trichy - Manapparai Highway. My  initial impression about engine performance was that the car was very comfortable in the speed range 100 - 130 kmph with good stability. I also drove the car in lower speeds at 40 kmph.  My conclusion was that it was a practical car meeting my requirements.  Toyota Representatives assured that the expected mileage would be about 20 kmpl. Since I normally drive in the range 100 - 120 kmph range and since I felt the car was practical I decided to buy the Toyota Corolla Altis. Needless to say the positive role played by Toyota Representatives also helped a lot to decide in favor of Toyota.

In the first two 2 months, I drove  my Toyota Corolla Altis car for about 2500 km. I was driving at a speed of 30 - 40 kmph locally and at a speed of 100 - 120 kmph on highways. The car was slightly sluggish in the top gear when I wanted to race from 80 kmph to 100 kmph in the sixth gear and the car was clicking a mileage of about 18.4 kmpl. However, the performance of the car began to improve  once I crossed 5000 km in my odometer. Meanwhile, I also understood the car better and began to shift the gear appropriately to the required speed. Since then, the car has been an absolute delight to drive. The car was  responding much better, after crossing 5000 km, and pickup from  80 kmph to 120 km was effortless in the same sixth gear. Now the car has been clocking 23.5 kmpl on highways and 18.5 on local roads thus giving 20.4 kmpl cumulative.  Once I competed with Jetta TDI on a Highway and I found my Corolla Diesel was responding with a speed of 140 kmph giving a mileage of 18 kmpl; I was shifting between 4th and 5th gear.

In Nov 2015, during my recent Diwali  trip from Manapparai, Trichy District to Salem, the car was loaded 75% full with the occupancy of 4 persons, including the driver, the car ran in rainy weather with a speed of 110-120 kmph. The car clicked a mileage of 21 kmpl.

The return trip from Salem to Manapparai  was in the morning hours with two persons and there was no  rain this time. I maintained a speed of 80-90 kmph. The car clicked 28.1 kmpl for a distance of 100 km up to Karur. (Unable to paste the picture that recorded 28.1 kmpl).  When I reached Manapparai, after completing about 190 km, the car clicked a mileage of 25.6 kmpl, which I consider extremely good. The odometer reading was about 7000 km.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride Quality is impeccable as I have very less drive fatigue over long distance travelling.

Final Words A luxurious car with good mileage.  The car can give respectable pick-up in the 4th and 5th gear as well as good mileage in the 6th gear.

Areas of improvement The Steering  of Corolla is not as responsive as Jetta. There is lot of scope to improve in this area particularly at low speed, 30 - 40 kmph. When I take the car for 10000 km service,  I hope this problem willbe addressed by Toyota Engineers.

1. Good Look, 2. Good Comfort, and 3. Great Fuel Economy.1.Not happy with the response of steering at 30 -40 kmph.

Exterior Beautiful and unique design , LED projection headlamps and rear lights , DRLs , looks good from all angles.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) AC is a chiller , Nice infotainment system and very good inbuilt speakers, lot of features and apple air play and mobile mirroring feature etc, comfortable and spacious rear seats, acres of leg room, reclining rear seat is very comfortable, look and feel of the dashboard and many more.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is a gem, AT  transmission is too good complimented by paddle shifts for some fun and offcourse a cruise control. Fuel economy depends on individual driving style and the area where he/she commutes. But on a normal driving with AC and peak hour traffic will give around 8-9 kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is very comfortable, Handling is good but not better than the European siblings. Paddle shifts add a sense of sportiness on highways or when ever you want to have some fun and that extra bit of pull and performance from the engine.

Final Words Toyota Corolla is a legend !!

If you are looking for reliability, durability, maintainence free, comfortable ride, you dont have to look further. Toyota ASS rocks and you can even keep corolla forever as well, such is the engine.

Areas of improvement Leather seats could have been better, 6 airbags instead of 2, more color options to chose from, otherwise this car is for sedate drivers as well as for enthusiast to some extent.

Flawless and butter smooth automatic transmission , rear seat comfort , bone chilling ACtop end petrol AT is a bit over priced.

Exterior New things are added in altis-

1. ORVM chrome garnish

2. rear bumper lower garnish

3. chrome side protective mould

4. back door garnish, chrome

WHICH I LIKE very much.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) There are some major changes in the interior as well, the dashboard is a beige and black sandwich with beige in the centre. it has multi information display that doesnt show too much as VW cars show but it is not a bad point. Below the head unit there is the climate controls and a 12V charging socket 

The rear passengers get a pull down armrest complete with an integrated twin cup holder.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am writing for GL which comes for mannual transmission it also has 7 speed CVT.

The corrola is powered by two familar engine options 1.4 D-4D diesel and 1.8 VVT petrol.  The petrol comes with 140 hp and 173 nm it is one of the great four cylinder engines of any era. there is no CVT at this price at this time so it is enjoyable to drive.

Ride Quality & Handling The altis is made for comfort rather than speed. the light steering is good for traffic and parking.

The petrol gives more enjoyment than diesel nothing gets translated into cabin external noise is kept external.

Final Words WELL I like this altis. this remains What it always has been- reliable, comfortable and a quality product that is affordable to run. The altis is the most important product for toyota india and they have given india what it wants. If you are looking for low maintainence car with lots of comfort then go to your nearest dealership and get your keys

Areas of improvement Improve the clock design  which is located at the centre. this type of clock design is taken from toyota QUALIS. I dont have problem with that but this clock has an old 90s design. this design do not suits in 2014 benchmark.

Exterior styling, new alloys , introducing of new GL modelThey do not give finishing of wood frame on steering as well as on power window console.
