2011 Toyota Corolla Altis

Amazing car with great comfort, class engine, best leg room, descent rich interior features.It doesn't rush on road.Acceptable ground clearance,attractive in exterior looks and after having all these it's least to think about average in mileage.

Comfortable drive, performance/pick up is too good and for this you have to compromise with poor fuel efficiency/poor milage. Service cost is affordable. Stability is good and very less sound inside the cabin.

Exterior I love the way it looks with the new generation squinting HID headlamps and rear LED tailamps and the Toyota emblem is nicely embeded in the new chrome grill. Doors are nicely sculpted allowing easy ingress and exit. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The inside is the nicest place to be in in the D1 segment. Space is excellent and utilitarian. Storage space is excellent with the twin glove box which is very handy and cubby holes and hooks all around. The aircon is pretty chilly even with the fan speed set at the first stage. The automatic climate control completes it. The newest difference in interior between the new and old gen Altis is the 6.1inch DVD touchscreen TFT LCD display. The music system has 6 speakers and probably the best in class with top notch sound quality. The new gen Altis also comes with a smart key access system with remote push button ignition. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The car is powered by a 1.8l DOHC 16valve 4 cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i producing 142PS@6400rpm and 173Nm@4000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6speed manual transmission which is soft and has short throws. The car returns about 9-11 kmpl in the city and around 13-14 kmpl on the highway.  Ride Quality & Handling The car is a pleasure to drive and the suspension includes MacPherson Struts up front and a Torsion Beam at the rear and it excellent and you dont feel a thing. Ride Quality is just superb and engine noise and vibrations are zero.  Final Words I am absolutely in love with this car and is an absolute improvement over the older generation car. The car is feature rich, some are  HID headlamps with washers, electrically adjustable and retactable, smart key access system with a panic mode located on both the keys and also a remote boot opener. LED tailamps are also a new feature. The audio system is excellent(bluetooth,ipod,usb and aux integration) and is also provided with a remote for the rear passengers.The driver seat is 8-way electrically powered with lumbar support. Love this car Areas of improvement No major complaint or anything but as a feedback they could have included a rear view camera into the audio system screen and provided navigation as an option which is available in foreign countries.Best in class fuel economy, comfort,new good features and excellent driveabiltyA rear view camera and a request button on passenger door handle are missed

I own a 1.8L Petrol AT version & have driven 50000 KM in 4 years. Pickup & Engine response is excellent, although bit noisy. Looks great. Good to drive. Tough suspension for rear passengers, Good A/C, Good Music system, Good Headlights, Poor mileage in local driving, Cruise control works well, ABS work well. Leather seats are easy to maintaine. Maintenance cost is moderate ( Rs 5000 for general service) Brake pads gone in 40000 KMs. Get throttle body cleaned regularly. My car came to stand still during my trip to shimla due to non cleaning of throttle body whereas the car was serviced just a couple of days before my trip. Tyres are too soft for rough roads. Two tyres are replaced in 25000 KM running only, althogh I travel in delhi & surroundings. Toyota should work to reduce outside noise coming in & door / body noises on rough roads.
