Undoubtedly the best hatch

Exterior I have been driving 1.2 L petrol since more than a year. 

No car in its segment can look better than the VW Polo. It's a beauty. Build quality is awesome. Paint quality is better than others. You yourself can notice when you see a white polo and a white swift or cars of other colors. its design is such that it wll not become oldie even after 10 years. It's the toughest car in less than 10 lacs segment ( except fabia, vento, rapid). My car got hit by other cars 4-5 times. if I expect a damage of 100 it's hardly 50. It's a small tank. I used to drive other hatchback cars and I can tell you no one can even come close to the polo in toughness. 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The moment you open the car and sit inside, you feel like you are in a premium car. Other  cars in its segment have tried to improve the interior quality but again there is no match with polo's. the plastic quality, the handles. the seats, the steering everything is of better quality. however, it lacks certain features that you find in other cars. But again, how often you use child lock/sleep timer/etc in your tv?  Very comfortable car is the VW polo. you dont feel holes/brakers very often.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Some say engine is little underpowered but to me its good enough. I measured the fuel economy quite a few times and  got it very accurately. In city ( new delhi) i get 13-14 kmpl. on highways, i get 18-19 kmpl. Trust me it's the best estimate that anyone can give. Gearbox, well, believe me or not, it's better than city's. gear shifts have a high definition. very accurate paths it takes. difficult to explain. I drove more than 15 cars including new city, i20, brio, jaz, city, swift, alto, liva. and no one has a better gear box than polo's. Go get a test drive of others and polo you well instantly notice this. 

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is again best in its segment. On highways. its a treat to drive...very stable and gives you confidence. handling, again is better than other's (including swift and honda city) its smooth like butter. gear box and handling clearly beats that of Honda city. I and my friend, who has city, drove both  cars back to back and realied this.

Final Words Undoubtedly, this is the best  car in the segment. If you wan to buy a hatch and can afford a polo, go for it. dont give a second thought. people say its service is costly. Well. if you have a polo you go for service once a year. and if you have maruti/honda/toyota/ you go atleast twice a year. net effect is nullified. Looks/Handling/gearbox/Ride quality/ Build quality stands out. After driving the VW since more than 1 year, I have decided that I will always buy a german car in future. I strongly recommend this car. 

Areas of improvement If there is one, it has to be engine choices. 4-cylinder 1.2 may be the best bet.
