THERE IS A LOT OF HULLABALOO ABOUT THE GREAT TIAGO, HOWEVER MY EXPERIENCE IS QUITE CONTRARY TO IT. LET ME FIRST SAY THE PROBLEMS IN FIRST 3 MONTHS AND JUST 11000 KMS. AIR CLEANER BODY WAS FAULTY, DOME LIGHT FAILED, INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS TO BE CHANGED, DRIVER SEAT RECLINER HANDLE DOESN'T WORK. FINE THEY AGREED ON ALL COUNTS AND PLEDGE TO CHANGE. BUT DOESN'T IT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE BUILD QUALITY. NOW COMING TO THE PRIMARY FAULT IN THE CAR. I BOUGHT THIS "THING" CALLED 'CAR' IN JULY 2016, RIGHT FROM THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER TAKING THE DELIVERY I COMPLAINED ABOUT WEIRD SOUND EMANATING WHEN STARTING AND SHUTTING OF THE ENGINE. THERE IS A MECHANICAL SOUND AND DEALER TECHNICIAN SAID IT COULD BE THE ENGINE FOUNDATION, BUT LATER ON DURING FIRST SERVICE SERVICE ENGINEER FROM DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ACCEPT IT AS A PROBLEM EVEN AFTER ANOTHER CAR WAS TRIED AND DIFFERENCE OBVIOUS YET HE DID NOT BUDGE. SECONDLY WHENEVER CAR IS STARTED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE MORNING RPM SHOOTS UP TO 1500(OR ABOVE AT TIMES) AND STAYS THERE FOR FULL 241 SECS(YES I TIMED IT)DURING THIS PERIOD ENGINE WILL COUGH AND GROAN, SHUDDER AND VIBRATE WITH RPM VISIBLY FLUCTUATING. THIS PROBLEM KEPT GETTING ACUTE AS AMBIENT TEMPS DROPPED. NOW THE SITUATION IS, IF CAR IS STATIONARY FOR TWO HOURS AND IF I WANT TO START AND JUST DRIVE AWAY, CAR WILL JUST NOT TAKE THROTTLE INPUT AND WILL COUGH AND MISS AND JERK AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I MADE VIDEOS OF MORNING STARTS FOR 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS AND GAVE IT TO DEALER SERVICE DEPT. BUT THEY HAVE NOT YET PAID HEED TO IT AND KEPT TELLING ME SOFTWARE UPDATE SOLVE IT. EVEN TATA MOTORS CSM(GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT THIS ABBREVIATION STANDS FOR)WHO SAW THE VIDEO WITH ME SITTING THERE WAS QUITE NONCHALANT ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO GET SOFTWARE UPDATED. HE TRIED TO TALK TO ABOUT HOW AN ICE WORKS AND I AM REQUIRED TO RUN IN THE ENGINE FOR 3-4 MINUTES BEFORE DRIVING. HE HAD THE CHEEK TO SAY THAT IT IS THERE IN THE MANUAL. A BIG NO, IT IS NOT AND I TOLD HIM ON HIS FACE THAT IF IT IS REALLY THERE THEN TATA SHOULD STOP MAKING CARS. THEY ALL TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS AND ENGINES AND WE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE TILL THE TIME WE SLAP IT ON THEIR FACE OUR TECH KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE.
