Exterior Land rover influence is visible and I like it. No flashy or fancy design. A simple yet tough and muscular appearance.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features are not extravagant but no point in having too many electrical gizmos which are hardly usable in Indian conditions for example cruise control. Space and comfort is a notch above for this segment and full marks to the storme for that. The ride quality is very good and the storme can take most bad roads in its stride. Some interior fittings are quite flimsy. The driver side seat inclination lever's plastic handle went loose in 2 weeks. There are a few sqeaks and rattles developing so soon.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine power is adequate and performance is now as good as the scorpio I believe. There is a bit of lack of low end torque from 3rd gear onwards but otherwise it performs quite well. The gearbox is much improved and smoother than before I think. Fuel economy is at par for the segment and I am getting around 12kpl as of now. Should improve after the first few servicings.
Ride Quality & Handling Handling is ok and since its a tall car some amount of body roll is there but it doesnt make the occupants nauseous as it does in a scorpio. High speed stability is quite good.
Final Words Safari storme is a sensible, tough yet get gentle beast which can take you to places not thinkable in most other cars!
Areas of improvement interior fittings should be tighter, reverse camera is a must, sound quality of music system needs improvement. ECU of 4wd system I think is not water proofed which is not practical.
Sober yet tough looks, space, comfort, road presence, go anywhere ability, great cruising abilityProne to sqeaks and rattles, bluetooth cant play music, no parking camera
